  1. YAY!!
  2. Gotta think its only a matter of time before ICT score
  3. Got a good linky to the game if anyone needs it
  4. Wait till next season....once Tade has adjusted....i reckon theres much more to come from him.
  5. I first went to see "The Caley" play about 1976. was pretty much hooked since then. As i have sed before....my "love" of ICT has never been anywhere near what i had for Caledonian Fc, but...........they were no more.....so i kinda followed ICT regularly, pretty much up until they reached the SPL. Since then...i havent been going to as many games as id like. But..thats life i guess!
  6. One more win should make us certainty to stay up.
  7. PS...i priced the cost of going to Manchester for Stone Roses gig in the summer on trainline. Last time i checked....(fair enuff, it was about a year ago) it was £45.....so allowing for increases etc...i was expecting the same return journey this time to perhaps cost about £55-60. s things stood, it was about £130. I fully expect that price to come down nearer the time.....surely?
  8. Yer right....on trainline.com, the whole day...the return Journey is £27.80 regardless of what day you come back. I was In aberdeen last month...and it was about £16 for day return. Maybe if you wait till nearer the time. Ad buy the cheap ticket just now, and try gain for return ticket in a month or so
  9. One swallow does not a summer make.....unless your of a siimilar mindset to certain posters on here
  10. No doubt Alex...your the type of man that would put his children Second to Football. But i take my role as a Father seriously and like to take my Children as often as i can. Even more so than going to football! And me doth think you exhagerate somewhat by stating im "forever" telling yous why i dont make many games. I think it has maybe been mentioned a couple of times over about 10+ years that i been on these forums! But i will make allowances, since its you! and for the record, i have probably seen about a dozen or so ICT games this season, either in person on TV (in full). But I dont purport to be an UBER-FAN of ICT.. . especially these days
  11. Oh...and another thing Alex.....i think you will find that your views about me are a bit one sided.....for im on occasion, on here, praising the team on the ODD occasion i feel it is merited, which hasnt been very often this season. At least im blessed with the ability to take in the whole picture, rather than pick and choose the parts im going to mention. Oh....and im far from alone in thinking the team has been dire.....just read thro the matchday threads on here. The majority seem to indicate all is not well
  12. No, sorry friend but you are the deluded one if you can take the statement your referring to and turn it into the statement your making. And just for you I'll reproduce my original below. Please note the word If at the beginning of my sentence. If everything is working well with this team you can be assured SMEE will come along and throw a spanner in the works. I do wonder, considering he's forever telling us how he can't get to games due to children, how many performances he's actually seen. Now, obviously you need help in the translation here so let me decipher. If the world was black SMEE would say it was white. But i came along and posted a message, in response to a thread. So obviously, you must be thinking everything is " working well" to make that statement you made. Id rather be a realist Alex, than be a happy clapping, rose tinted spectacle wearing, wired to the moon individual like you and a few others are on here. Thankfully Dunfermline have an exceptionally poor home record, otherwise, we could well have been the team going down. So if you class that as "Everything is working well" well...more fool you ya ***
  13. You lot must be deluded. According to Alex everything is "working well" for ICT
  14. I too thought/hoped they would suffer a monumental collapse after xmas. But...it pains me to say it....they deserve to come up. If only Dundee and Falkirk had made more of a fist of it
  15. I dont think injuries etc are the reason why ICT have struggled all season...is the mostly sh1te football they have been serving up that is to blame. The fooball i have seen this year has been as dire as anything i have ever seen. Ive seen far better performances down the bught in the summer!
  16. Admitedly I have only seen our TV games, but from what I've seen leaves me feeling a bit sorry for Tade. He rarely gets the opportunity to create, he doesn't benefit from midfelders making space for him and he spends a great deal of time chasing lost causes. the bloke deserves a medal. Exactly.....the level of service being provided is ZERO.....he has to run about like a headless chicken, chasing lost causes, and thats what he does...so fair play to him
  17. Alex...i know we will STILL get the odd game on tv here and there....as we have always done whilst in The SPL. The TV channles are morally obliged to spread the coverage. But its not going to generate the income you seem to be suggesting. I doubt we will see any increase on that front. Make no bones about it....apart from novelty value for the first game next season, ICT vs Ross County has no more mass appeal to tv stations than a Motherwell V Hamilton game would have
  18. The only derby game television is interested in is Old Firm. They dont really televise Hearts v hibs or Aberdeen vs Dundee Utd......so i cant see them being intrested in an insignificant highland derby with very limited appeal
  19. Explain. please. Al give you an example of what im on about. The last time i went to see u2 play in glasgow, the gig was not a sell out. Why? because there was another big draw on that same night in the same city, in the shape of Celtic Vs Arsenal in the Champs League qualifier. Thing is tho, the attendance was hit in that game also...as u2 were in town. had there not been the distraction of the football on...then u2 wouldnt have any competiton that night for income and the same is true for the fooball Point being....when ICT are in the SPL on their own, they are the biggest draw and focus in the area. Bring another equally as appealing lure into the frame, ICT are not as tasty a lure as once they were. Money from advertising, sponsorship, backing from the business community will now be more split than ever. Still struggling to comprehend??....ok...think whats going to happen to Tesco when Asda comes to town! I take your point regarding sponsorship and advertising and this MAY take a slight dip. But I really don't see large amounts of ICT fans suddenly deciding to support RC and going over the bridge. Theres a lot of Nuetrals who float between ICT and Ross County, just to watch a game of football. Im not talking thousands here...but they do exist. At the mo....they are probably more inclined to go watch the SPL team. With it looking like County coming up, i wouldnt blame them if they made County theri priority to watch...considering the bile being offered up as football by ICT. But that aside....im talking more of the backing we get from sponsors, and business community at the mo. With county being in the same league as ICT, they are not going to be the lesser option any longer.

  21. County coming up, which sadly looks likely, spells BAD news for ICTs finances. you wait and see.
  22. Ooh...and one of my wee fve bits of trivia for y'all.....Kevin was an ex pupil of Inverness High School. My old PE teacher told us one day that Kevin is the only person he ever heard off, being sent off, in a game of.................BADMINGTON lol
  23. I dont think theres any arguing about it. For my money, he had the most illustrious career. Capt of leicester City. Played in Liverpools double winning team (might have even been a european cup final appearance too. Think he was even Capt of Coventry for a while too....not to mention Managing Aston Villa in the modern day EPL. Only blot on the landscape was his time playing for Rangers 2012 lol OBVIOUSLY tho....the high point would have been playing for the mighty Caledonian Fc!!
  24. Very sorry to hear of your loss L_G. May your husband Rest IN Peace
  25. Theres NO reason as to why the Ironworks shouldnt be able to attract such acts....but they wont...coz there seems to be a severe lack of ambition at that place, and a penchant for tribute acts and anything that dont involve bringing good music to the highlands. If i was in charge of the place, which i should be (:P) Id be touting the place as a venue for bands to come try out their new material on folks, before proper tour gets under way...a dry run if you like. but Naw.....as usual, and same is true for those behind JLS and Rockness.....they short change us and play it safe. I doubt any of them 4 nights in august will come anywhere near selling out. Runrig will sadly, probably come closest. Lets have some ambition for a change Easy to say when you are talking about spending other people's money to make these things happen. There's lots of bands/acts I would love to see come to Inverness, but I don't imagine it's cheap to make it happen and whether we like it or not it's the cheesy stuff that guarantees the crowds and makes these private businesses money (the reason they are in the business). Maybe we should be looking to the council to spend some of the hundreds of thousands from the "culture" budget they blow on fairy lights and idiots running around in costumes at the Islands on bringing a couple of popular bands/acts to the city instead? Thing is tho Don....yeah...decent acts wouldnt come cheaply, but....I, and many others would be willing to pay the premium should someone take the risk. Look at me.....I travelled to galsgow last night to see the Elvis live 2012 show at SECC.......that trip cost me about £130 all in all.....not to mention the 6 hrs of travelling. Im travelling to Fife in May to see James at a wee festival.....so probs cost a similar price. Point being...people WILL pay for quality....well....i believe they will, especially if its on their own doorstep As i sed earlier, if i was in charge of the Ironworks, id be touting it as a venue for acts to come try out new material, before official tours start. Loads of band play small intimate gigs like that in the lead up to major tours....often to just hundreds of people. It doesnt always have to be about raking the money in
