  1. Strange one down souf......Liverpool offering INXS of ?30M for Newcastle Utd striker Andy Carrol. Hes only really played one season in the Championship and half a season in the Premiership. Seems a hell of a lot of money taking that into consideration.
  2. Andy needs to learn to be ruthless and produce that killer touch. Failing that....hes not going to progress to the next level. Im no expert, but to me....sometimes, his shot slelections are very generous to his opposition!

    Disgrace

I hope Gaelic DOES come under the equality act. Coz some things are more equal than others. Its the fact that Gaelic gets prefferential treatment and money thrown at it, when the rest of us suffer cuts, that grates on people so much

Learning a second language is a highly useful and the skills required can be applied when learning other languages. I personally would love to be able to speak Gaelic. My grandfather from skye was fluent but my father didn't pick it up. There's a lot of career opportunities within Scotland for young people who can speak the language. I'm not going to get in to a debate with you on how taxes should and shouldn't be spent. I disagree with you. That's all. Aye....theres a lot of overpayed jobs conjoured out of nowhere for "Jobs For The Boys" Gaelic Self Preservation Society. Really USELESSS positions, like people to take minutes of Highland Council meetings in Gaelic, even tho im pretty sure 100% of councillors speak english, probably as their main language. There are numerous other languages that are more widely used in Scotland, Polish, Urdu, things like that....but we dont get them shoved down our throats or money thrown at them by the Scottish Govt. Why?? Because there isnt the same Mafia who have weaseled their way into the corridoors of power...making such demands, for their own gain! As i have sed before....the language is dying on its arse...for ONE reason only.....LACK OF INTREST! And its things like the above AND the prefferential treatment the language and its users gets that really hacks me AND many others off! SMEE, I think if you delve deep enough you'll find that money is spent on other languages, especially Polish and Hindi and Urdu etc. We train interpretors, we give social workers the opportunity to learn some of these languages, we provide various types of documentation in all languages, we employ translators to prepare and edit such publications. Check the forms next time the census comes around and I'll bet there's the opportunity for those with limited english to get assistance and forms for the language they speak. Thing is tho Alex...none of them languages are dying on its arse like Gaelic. There is PLENTY of requirement for these languages to be catred for. None of them languages has powerful cliquies, who have blagged their way into the corridoors of power, making demands which are totally self serving! Here is a fact. I could go into Inverness City centre on monday, and hear more conversations being carried out casually in the street, in Polish, than i have heard being conducted in everyday life, these last 40 yrs, in the capital of the gaelic heartland! That sums up how popular Gaelic is!
  5. How many women will be at football matches this weekend.....shouting at and debating the credibility of the Officials. I bet that wont be viewed as sexist!
  6. WASNT Holloway offering to resign a few months back over something else. Its almost as if he needs his ego massaged! Anyhoo...i think the decision sucks.....any registered player for a club should be allowed to play in any game. I dont suppose managers willingly set out to loose games. There must have been a reason why he didnt send out his strongest team
  7. Aberdeen FC and their fans are douchebags (in football terms, im sure they are very nice outside of footie)....i dislike them as much as Rangers fans
  8. Since when is no wins in 10 and a **** poor, season long home record "punching well above our weight"? Thank feck we managed to scrape together an abnormal away run in the league up until recently, or we would have been right up sh1t creek!
  9. All over....8 pts from the last 33. Simply not good enough!
  10. That word has been featuring in my thoughts recently. But only for the results, not really for the performances. Sadly...its the results that count....performances are irrelevant
  11. Yes...and I for one am starting to get a tad worried! Some questionable decisions by terry starting to creep in to the games...again, very Brewsteresque!
  12. I had us down for a defeat tonight. Simply coz...we are shyte at home and couldnt buy a win! Out of curiosity, When will we be allowed to show concern about results? No win in over two months now
  13. Im so hacked off tht andy Gray got the dunt. He was my fave commentator. and he is so spot on with the calls he makes. a very knowledgeable commentator. Its also true about the Loose Women thing....i think its called positive discrimination, which seems to make it ok!
  14. Thanx Dee....i didnt realise it was so close....even tho i had an idea that Castle Stuart itself was thereabouts :P
  15. I too hope it is well supported and a great sucsess. its a real boost for the area. BUT....where abouts is it....say..in relevance to Inverness Airport?
  16. For the record...i wasnt agreeing with what they sed, but i do agree with their rights to have their own opinions. I watched a tv documentary where there was someone making a point that the powers that be are trying to prime us to all be subservient, by subtly brainwashing us to not hold our own views, as we are far easier to conrol. I can see where their coming from!
  17. Its a fooking sad and dare i say...slightly disturbing day, when individuals are not allowed to form or hold opinions of their own. F**K POLITICal CORRECTNESS!
  18. Bare in mind....ICT have taken only 8 pts from last 30 and we havent had a league win in 2 months! CaleyD made a point about us historically being poor starters and strong finnishers. I think we have done it in reverse this season!
  19. At the risk of appearing negative...altho i see it as being a realist....i think that, given that our once in a generation away form seems to have come to an end...which saw us achieve an artificially high place in the league on the back of it....well....couple that return to normal service, with a currently terrible home form, which shows no sign of changing, i can see us getting dragged down from this point on. I think we will end up in the bottom 6, which doesnt bother me....as long as we can acheive 11th place or higher placing come the end of the season. 8 pts form the last 30 is not top 6 form! I think we will finnish 7th or 8th at best

    EARTHQUAKE!

Glenuig is about 45 miles west of Ft William. There were apparently a few reports of tremors in Inverness!
  21. yeah....great idea...lets give away freebies to rich people!
  22. So...i was asleep in bed, when i was awoken at approx 06:05, by my smoke alarm blipping and then the bedroom cupboard doors shaking for a few seconds. So...i get up this morning and do some investigating. It seems there was a quake recorded at Glenuig, magnatuide 3.6. Anyone else wakend by it?
  23. According to Mikey Noble (ex ICT captain) It was deffo a penalty!
  24. I would class 8 pts from 30 as poor run. I would count the season long woefull home form as another bad run. As you say...and as i sed DURING our amazing, but unusual run of away form, the exact same thing. Drawing against the big teams means NOTHING if you cant take care of the "lesser" teams, especially at home!
  25. 1-1......Im sorry....this pathetic home form is not acceptable. We are lucky ICT went on a once in a generation run away from home, coz i think we found ourselves in a artificially high league position due to that run. I worked out...we have taken 8 pts in the last 30. That is worrying form! And this is by no way me having a bitch at the management, am just having my say!
