    Feb 8th

Its 11 yrs to the day today....if i remember correctly....the game was played on a Tuesday
  2. Maybe....coz of the limits of the capacity, its fine for concerts, where they can charge ?70-?80 per ticket and cover the costs of renting the park, but Simple Minds gig is only ?36, so a lot less margins and profit in this gig, so less money to fork out on venue
  3. I think i read somewhere that The Alarm are playing their own shows this summer. I did wonder on who would take over singing dduties for Big COuntry. I really think that they should have called it a day in their case to be honest....still...it would be good to hear the music live again.
  4. That will be me then First concert of the summer!

    John Beaton

John Beaton has been dedicating his life to football certainly since the 70s. A well deserved award! :clapping:
  6. A guitar legend, R.I.P
  7. I will wager there will be plenty of empty seats tho....which, all things considered, is a pretty poor show! I really doubt that Any games here vs Old Firm this season have had plenty of empty seats. The Scottish Cup is less of a draw than the league these days!
  8. Has to be our No 1 keeper!
  9. Rangers are the lesser team!
  10. I will wager there will be plenty of empty seats tho....which, all things considered, is a pretty poor show!
  11. Bang goes a big day out at Hampden!
  12. Well...yeah....your in similar financial dire straights to me, so its understandable not being able to make games. Unlike me tho, at least you have a season ticket. Firstly...i couldnt even begin to think about buying one, coz of a) not got the money nd b) Im lucky if im free to go to a handfull of games all season, because i got my wee ones or i do not have the money. In days of old...when my circumstances were different, i would have been there yesterday, even if it had been Whitehill Welfare they had been playing. But how many stay aways yesterday didnt go, just because it wasnt a big team ICT were playing? Thats the side of things i struggle to get my head round.
  13. Was a good game to watch. Thought Celtic dominated the second half....played much better football.....but severly lacked penetration. They dont seem to have anyone, like a Johnny Hayes, tht can run at players with the ball and take them on.
  14. Aye...its a good game. Never a sending off tho. Keeper clearly attempted to get the ball....which was well out of Naismmiths control. Id have sed Bougherras lunging tackle with studs up was more of a sending off.
  15. I seriously dont get this fluctuation in attendances at all. either you suppport a team or you dont. Now...i will admit...yesterday was a rarity for me...in that i was available to go to the game. But...i didnt have the money to spare. BUT...the other side of the coin.....i dont make the overwhelming majority of games these days...so...i wouldnt really be missed. Question is tho.....where was the 1500 or so stay aways yesterday?....the ones that would turn up for the bigger games? I reckon ICT has a hardcore of about 1500 fans, who will turn up for most games, the rest are floaters, who arent so much ICT fans...more...general fans of football...looking to take in a game
  16. 4-0 Rooney
  17. 3-0...HOGG!
  18. When i was 12, in first year at High School....my mate sold me an SLF badge. it had written upon it thus: Alter- Native Ulster So people used to say...cool badge...and id say...ya man....Alter Native Ulster rules :P
  19. Highland Cathedral is a wrist slittingly dull and lifeless song! As i have sed before, I reckon...given our location....we should run out to Waterfront by Simple Minsds

    Disgrace

I have been in many households over the years where Gaelic is being spoken or sung. As yet I have to experience anywhere in the Highlands or Islands where I can enjoy a crack or a tune in Pictish, Nordic, Old English or Cumbric. If we hadn't treated these cultures/dialects/languages with such disregard then maybe I would have. It is fair to say that we can't make the same with mistake with Gaelic! Thats the point tho....people ARE showing disregard for gaelic....hence the dramatic and continual decline in numbers of speakers, over the last 200 yrs! I liken the Scottish govts continual willingness to throw good money of to bad, as like a horse trainer, with an old race horse, continuing to throw money at it....by training it etc, even tho it has no chance of ever winnning a race again. its time for the glue factory

    Disgrace

I tried to let go...but Gaelic is such a bugbear for me :P Gaelic is not "our culture"....it came over with the Irish. As i have sed numerous times....Pictish, Nordic,Old English and Cumbric ALL predate Gaelic in Scotlands history, but we dont see money being thrown at them or demands being made left right and centre in support of them languages...yet they are every bit as relevant in Scotlands history.
  22. I am on the number 3 bus route in Sneckie. Now....either i am incredibly unlucky, or Stagecoach run a REAL sh1tty service....but I use busses about maybe 4 times a week (thats going into city centre and back). now...without fail....the busses are almost either, 10-15 mins late, ahead of the due time or they just dont bother turning up. It is so unreliable. Im sure Stagecoach were, not so long ago, heralding the arrival of some dude that was supposed to be getting the busses runiing on time? Its truly pathetic. you cant rely on the service for making ppts or nothing. No wonder people refuse to give up using their cars. Anyone else have such a shyte service?
  23. So much for the drainage system doon TCS....i have to say....I have seen games go ahead in much worse condition when we were in the lower leagues. Im suprised, as the rain wasnt even that heavy today. I can only assume it takes a lot less for a game to be called off at SPL level
  24. Am i right in saying ICT has only ever had one game cancelled due to pitch problems? I was under the impression that there was quite an expensive drainage system put into the pitch?
  25. Mibees Rooney will continue his poor run of form...and intrest will die off by the summer!
