It sure does! To those who say they didnt see this coming.....cast your mind back about 4-5 months. Its no shock to me!

If you were able to pinch ONE...and i mean one....SPL player, from any other SPL club and take them to ICT, who would you take and why? I think this is a good time to ask the question, as there are no stand out candidates like a Laudrup or Larsson etc that would be an obvious choice. It be interesting to see peeps choices

someone correct me if im wrong but our first game of the 08/09 season did roy not make a break in 90th min at pittodrie and slot the ball into the corner with his right foot? That deffo rings a bell!

I have always been a fan of Roys. I felt real bad for him the majority of last season when he wasnt getting a game...but...being a true professional, he sat in the wings and came in the last few games and played as tho he was a regular starter. Nice to see so many positive comments about him on this thread :) A wee story, kind of Roy related...well...actually..it is completeely Roy related. One night...i was on a u2 website...on the chat.....speaking to peeps from all over the world. Got talking to one guy. Al cut to the chase, turns out he was in Aberdeen...and a Friend of Roys! Small Wordl eh!

I dont think its so much a case of not trying to keep the players...more trying to keep to the financial constraints etc which has kept us as one of the best financially run teams in the land.

Iain Stewart was indeed the most natural goal scorer i have seen....and i have seen a fair few. Some of his goals were truly magical.....like the outside of the foot/chip/half volley he scored thro in Dungwall many years ago. Made a pure tit of the C*unty keeper :_thumbup: I remember Pele Paterson desribing him as the best penalty box striker in Scotland (at the time). I think he was probably correct! Boy....we have been spoilt over the years when you think about it.

That would be the sensible approach. I reckon they would make a fair few quid if they did that.

That was VERY pleasurable in the end. I used to really enjoy watching Caley play in the Qualifying Cup finals circa 1982-85 ish. A great all out attacking team that was....with attacking midfeiders, Two Wingers and two strikers. QUALITY!!

I reckon the club should swallow their pride and ask Don to be the announcer again. at least he was interested and fired up for the gig. Speaking of which...has CaleyD gone into hiding...i dont think i have seen a post from him on the new site?

Yarp...i do....coz....at the same stage in their ICT careers, i think Johnny is a better player with infinitley better attitude to the game. He could go a long way yet!

Well spotted RiG......It was 5 subs....but i chnged it coz a few had listed more than 5 subs. Also....it suited my cause too....so feel free to edit yer team!

The keen eyed among you may notice, after consideration (ie, pinching other peoples ideas) I have ammended my team!

Hot on the heels of my other fantasy thread....having been reminded of how many great players at the club we have had...thought it would be fun to do our all time ICT XI....and preferred formation if desired. See how our selections differed. Max of 6 subs....(to make it that bit more difficult) Mine would be Brown Teasdale Dods Mann Golabeck Wilson Sheerin Hayes Bingham Christie Dargo Subs: Calder Tokely Black Foran Robson Ritchie

When I see all these different names bandied about....it makes me realise how lucky we have been over the years to have so many great players. When i think about it....i think ad be tempted to re-nominate Bobby Mann on my wish list....i had forgotten just how reliable and skillfull a player he was and his reading of the game more than made up for his lack of real pace. And...what a bonus it would be to have his distribution from the back in our team today, as opposed to the aimless punt we get at times. And he scored the odd goal or two to boot!

If you could take any ICT player from the past, and apply them and their attributes to todays team....which player would you like to add to todays team and why? Personally.....I would like to see Paul Cherry back in midfield. This guy ruled the midfield, he was the General. Within 10 mins of the K.O, there was no doubt about who was calling the shots. he would give us so much dig in midfield.

Can we get conformation that it was in fact MacDougal and Hastie pies on sale tonight and whether this is to be the case from now on? If so....a superb decision!

To be fair Oz....i would say its only when it comes to England Footie team...and maybe rugby team that we enjoy watching them fall flat on their face. I dont think any other form of dislike for England has been expressed on here. And , from my own point of view....the reason for that is....because the english press keep banging on about how great England are and are generally condescending to the opponents and we get sick of it. Apart from that tho....i have no issues with anything English.

Welcome Dave.....always good to welcome a new member to the family, especially from down souf. Its pretty quiet round here at the mo...so dont feel unwelcomed.

They have had 16 yrs to get the Car Park (and many other things sorted) yet...here we are, season after season and the same issues are prevalent!

From what i saw of Eagles....he was a decent enough player. That sed...i wouldnt start him. I see him as a player you bring on with maybe 20-30 mins to go, to try and change a game. He does put in some good balls. So all in all.....not the worst player you could sign.

^ Yeah....a lesson we could learn from the french....if they dont like something....they boycott/protest en masse and get things changed. In this country...we tend to mump and moan about things, yet allow things to carry on as before...quite often paying money into the coffers at the same time. The end result....nothing changes!

I THINK it was officially announced....then again...i could have been dreaming.
