  1. If you are free why not join us tonight. Should be a laugh. The rounds are varied, so a good chance for everyone. Don't worry if you don't have a team of 4 just pop down and we will make the teams up.

I was told that prior to the pitch inspection, Gordon Chisholm was so confident that the game would be called off that he had already cancelled his teams pre match meal. !!!!!!!

    Game reschedules for 9th March
  4. I think that Robbo introduced a clear wage structure for everyone. Not necessarily everyone on the same wage, but all working within a clear structure depending on experience etc I'm glad we have reduced the wage bill by Barrowman and Imrie leaving as they were the highest earners and I believe both received a wage increase in line with relegation as it was written into their contracts that they would receive a pay rise each year. I'm sure we don't have a higher wage bill that last season as we did release some players at the start of the season, but it also hasn't been significantly reduced either. As you say, we survived years with "no stars, but just a solid Team". It was an excellent team who went to Parkhead and beat Celtic (I think most could still do a job for us), but most of all they were a team. Something I think we have been lacking this season. I do think that they are beginning to gel now and that we should offer contracts to Terry & Maurice right now. The same way as it should have worked with relegation can surely work in reverse with a package agreed on a 1st division budget with an enhancement if we were to be promoted. This would get players signed up and act as an added incentive to win the league. I am very concerned that the end of the season is only a few weeks away and we have no management team and only 3 first team players signed.
  5. Joe, I like your optimism, but I'm afraid I believe that there were only 1 or maybe 2 players who had a relegation clause and therefore a pay cut. More than that got a pay rise in line with their SPL contracts. I don't believe ICT considered relegation an option. The players with relegation clauses were the ones who signed during the last half of last season when it was looking like a possibility

See my post on the Where's the money gone thread to avoid me repeating myself, but I will add that the reporting of the situation by Radio Scotland was WRONG. I think you should tune into Radio Scotland tomorrow morning where I'm pretty sure Charlie Bannerman will clarify the situation in the local bulletin. He was at the stadium, so he does have a better idea of what happened than the guys sitting in a studio in Glasgow
  7. I have read this thread and I think this post sums the situation up nicely. The Supporters Trust meet monthly with the club as you know as we are due to meet with them this week. I'm sure this subject will come up and we will ask the questions on your behalf. 2 points though as far as I'm aware 1. If the undersoil heating had been allowed to be switched on a bit earlier than it had been, the pitch could well have been playable by the inspection at 11.30 and I can assure you that Terry Butcher wanted this game played. 2. At 11.30 the decision took a long time to reach as the pitch was nearly there. So if they had given it another hour or so I'm pretty sure the game would have gone ahead. Now I know we hate late call offs, but as the QoS team were already here and the fans well on their way, I'm sure it would have been worth the gamble of another hour to try to get the game on. Heilandee maked a good point, we have one of the best groundsmen in the Country and it's not very often we have call offs, but he can only work with the tools he has and if he's not allowed to turn the undersoil heating on, then that is obvioulsy outwith his control.

    GAME OFF!!!!!!!

Okay, that's half an hour. They must be inspecting every blade individually
  10. L_G replied to RiG's topic in Caley Thistle
Unless you are friends with the referee, that can't be true. I believe 11am is the latest time for the inspection. I would assume we are trying our hardest to get the game played. We are on a reasonable run of form, so we don't need a call off. Also Queen of the South will be pretty hacked off if it's postponed and they have to make that journey again

Delighted to hear the success of the young squad. Hope to see some of these young boys breaking through into the first team before the end of the season
  12. Oh she has a clue, she is just using their hairstyles to identify them
  13. From the home end at Starks

To be fair it doesn't really work that way. It is illegal, there is no defence in the fact that others do it. As I've said I'm pleased with the outcome as I think they were unfairly targeted. Doesn't mean I support any form of sectarian behaviour. If you commit a crime and are caught red handed, you have no defence in the fact many others have done it before you and not got caught or prosecuted.

I am very happy that this has come to a conslusion and in my oppinion it was the only possible outcome. I believe there was A complaint about the singing and therefore had to be acted upon. I think that picking 3 boys out of the crowd quite randomly and trying to pinpoint it all on them was quite wrong. I was involved in this immediatedly after it happened and the selection of the individuals who were in court was a bit like sticking the tail on the donkey. These boys were not banned for life, but for a few weeks, so they are all free to attend games as they wish. It beggars belief that this even made it into the court room, but the powers that be were obviously keen to be seen to be acting upon something deemed to be sectarian and tried to make an example of these boys. I think that nearly 18 months of waiting for a decision has already potentially had quite an effect on the futures for these boys. Glad common sense prevailed in the end, or was it that there wasn't actually any evidence to convict these boys. A complete waste of police and court time.
  16. Thanks for that Charles. I accept that I may have been a bit over sensitive after some very busy weeks and months of preparations. Your comments re the venue are fair, although I thought that the chunk of beef was almost a meal on it's own. Roast tatties and yorkshires wouldn't have been out of place though.
  17. I actually do agree that the sports dinner format is past it's sell by, but I thought we had something a bit different on Saturday night, which everyone (except Charles) seemed to really enjoy. To accomodate the fans who couldn't afford the dinner, we had a mini event in the Caley Club at only ?5 per head, which included the never seen before, full 90 minutes and MacDougall and Hasties award winning pies at half time. Support for this was poor to say the least. Once we catch our breath we have a couple of other things in the pipeline, but like them or loath them the big dinners are the only way to raise a few quid.
  18. I don't think it will be a male only dinner - I believe these things would be a thing of the past. Currently there is no speaker advertised, so I would want to see who that is before committing myself to attend. Charlie, I, and many others, thought that the meal on Saturday night was one of the best ever. I'm afraid yours was the only negative comment I have heard. I agree with the bar prices, spending ?100 was very easy to do, but then again you are used to Westies Caley Club prices.

Jim Calder's slot wouldn't be out of place on an out take show, could be worth money. lol Really enjoyed all of the interviews and it was great to see the team of 2000 enjoying catching up with each other after 10 years.

The footage didn't come with commentary, so we have added something which isn't a full commentary but I think you will find it entertaining. I haven't head it myself yet, so I can't comment further. Juat make sure you don't miss out on this very special 10th anniversary edition. The interviews on the night as well as some interviews already recorded will be included on the DVD.
  21. L_G replied to CaleyD's topic in Caley Thistle
Can I correct you? We decided that it would be too difficult to add a commentary at this stage. Rob MacLean is hosting the evening on Saturday and the interviews will be filmed for the DVD, but he isn't doing a commentary. There is a bit of a surprise on that front though which I think you will enjoy. :D
  22. 2 out 1 in, don't forget the re-signing of Bulvitis. P & J confirm the move suggesting we got ?40,000 for Imrie (which was the figure we were looking for) but Barrowman was released from his contract which cost us money and Ross County got him for free. Overall a good piece of business as these guys were both on high wages which were out of our budget for 1st division football. Suggestions that Stuart Duff will be released and we will also sign him up, so all round a good transfer window for us I think.
  23. L_G replied to CaleyD's topic in Caley Thistle
It is a Trust venture, so any profits will go into the Trust funds. The Trust money goes to help a number of initiatives within ICT and elsewhere in the football community. 2 sold already, so only 498 to go lol
  24. I'm as sure as I can be that CaleyD hasn't received a penny for the work he has done this season.
  25. Irrespective of the share price, Alex does seem to have taken thinking here out of the traditional box where the financing of football is held to be the responsibility of wealthy individuals through making donations to clubs who are apparently owed a living by them. In answer to Georgeios' query about what was said on the BBC on Monday morning, yes, David Sutherland did confirm to me that he would be making a donation to the Clach Survival Fund which as at Sunday stood at ?8800. It is my understanding that his donation is a modest sum which will join others in a pot designed to keep Clach in buses for away games, rent of Grant Street for home games and around a tenner per player per game for the next few weeks.... and hence Inverness in the Highland League at least for the time being. We are talking here orders of magnitude less than the cost of keeping a recently relegated full time First Division team in operation in a 7500 seater stadium. I also heard on the radio that it is costing ?500 to ?600 per week to pay the administrator to keep it solvent which is draining the money pot,so unless the council can come to some agreement about the debt, I think someone may buy the debt and lease the ground back to Clach. Any ideas who would do this ? :017: How could ordinary fans purchase shares as they are not on open market? The shares were a ?1 each last year, you would probably want to contact the company secretary if you are interested.I'm not sure what you would actually be buying though, Will the club buy them back if you needed the cash and at what value? The supporters trust may be a better long term option, as long as they are being treated fairly by the club, I read the minutes on the web for last years AGM and the % of shares allocated to the trust had changed ??? Maybe someone can shed some light, the latest AGM must be very soon too. Supporters Trust AGM was on Tuesday night.
