The 'Trust' have worked hard to keep the cost down. The club are not dictating the cost of this event. The event is being run solely by the Trust in partnership with our media sponsors and professional event management team who both have vast experience in this sort of event. The proceeds from this event will go directly to the Trust. What is important about this event is that we are recognising the achievements of the people who have taken the club to where we are now in the SPL. The evening is about celebrating the club's short history and therefore it is hoped that as many fans can attend as possible. A bit unfair CaleyD. One of our purposes is to raise money and like it or not these events do exactly that and we could have still sold it out at £60 or £70 or even £80, but we did our best to keep the cost down as much as possible, so that at least some 'ordinary' fans could make it. We have had 2 successful bowling nights and a pampering and tampering with race night in the process of being organised. Other things in the pipeline too. We have to strike a balance, but we're never going to make a fortune with these events. What we have tried to do is make as much of a compromise as possible. As you acknowledge £55 for this event is quite reasonable.

Corporate table sales are going well so far and efforts will be stepped up this week to sell this event out sooner rather than later. We still have quite a lot of work to do to get this show on the road so getting all the tables sold would allow us to move on to other things. We are hoping to have a good show of fans as we see this as a supporter's night, we have already booked 4 supporters tables but would like to make it more. My concern is that you leave it til the last minute and then there won't be any seats available and the event will end up mainly corporate. (Many of these corporate tables are booked by fans and ex players, who have their own businesses) We did our best to keep the individual cost down as much as possible for the fans, but the other side of that coin is that it is really cheap now for the corporate market so very easy to sell. Even if there is only 1 or 2 of you want to go, let us know as soon as possible and we'll allocate a space at a supporter's table for you. Please don't leave it til it's too late.

First of all it was noted by both the trust and the club that the singing section was actually a success and that the increased atmosphere was appreciated by CC and the players. Both Alan Savage acknowleged this and backed the singing section for next season. A number of issues were raised by the assembled few: Why were the stewards so heavy handed? Acknowleged - Investigations ongoing and meetings with stewards and police are continuing. Over zealous stewards will not work within the club again. It is hoped to have more local stewarding to allow a bit of a rapor to develop between the fans and the stewards. It is also hoped that there will be some kind of self policing within the new section. Why were home fans targeted when the away fans were standing for large parts of the game? There are also many away fans who stand at the 'bigger' games. - Again this was acknowleged by GB and it is purely logistical. This is not a police matter but a matter for the stewards. It's not acceptable but very difficult to manage. It is hoped that the singing section will be managed with a bit more common sense than was the case at the Dunfermline game. Nothing to do with the Dunfermline game, but the issue of away fans in the home end was raised, especially if some of those fans found their way into the proposed new section. Both AS and GB are committed to improving the way this is handled, from the purchasing of tickets to the turnstiles and the stewarding of those who slip through the net. We will always have a few (some even have ICT season tickets), but inappropriate celebrations etc should result in the fan being ejected from the stadium. This has not happened in the past and would be a welcome development. Please don't quote me word for word on the above, but any questions asked were answered by AS and/or GB. Those who did attend seemed happy with the outcome. There is a report in the Highland News which will be online in the morning. The singing section is going to be situated close to the North Stand and hopefully it will create more noise throughout the stadium by creating a good atmosphere where people will want to join in. Once things are up and running you will be able to move to the West Stand if you decide it looks better. You will be able to try it on a per game basis. As I have said before the logistical side of things still requires a bit of thought, but the important point is that the club are listening to the fans on this occasion.

Good idea RIG. Why don't you speak to a few people and make one up. We'll get it printed and distributed. I'm sure it can be put on this site where it can be downloaded.

Don't know about singing lessons, but if you want we could try to organise a pre season get together for anyone who wants to learn some new songs.

I don't know what more you expect. The chairman and vice chairman of the trust and the football club took the top table and answered any questions that were asked of them. They openly praised the initiative of the singing section, but regretted the way it was handled. These points have been taken on board when looking at how to move the new section forward. When we first met with the chairman following the Dunfermline game, he suggested then that a new area be created for the singing section. To be honest I saw this as something for the future rather than for this season. To give him credit he has worked extremely hard to have plans drawn etc. It is certainly hoped that the new section will balance the books at the end of the season, but that wasn't the reason for it. The Chairman is very keen for the singing section to move forward and I think he has taken on board the comments they received. He is also keen to listen to ongoing logistical issues, but he will jump through whatever hoops are necessary for this to be successful. It now needs the fans to get behind it. For what it's worth I don't agree with your reasons for some people not attending the meeting, I know you were working, but some people just clearly can't be bothered. We can all sit behind a computer (often anonymously) and give our tuppence worth, but puting faces to these people is much better. Credit to the young ones who attended last night and conducted themselves very well. They asked very relevant questions and I think they got the answers.

Good post Scotty. I think there are still a few issues regrading the logistics, but this site was mentioned as a possible tool in the process. Right now the priority is to get the building and planning dealt with and only once that is done they will look at the ticketing processes. Meantime people should just buy their tickets as usual. Regarding the Dunfermline game I don't think we heard anything tonight that we hadn't heard already, but the Chairman and Graham Bennet, both acknowleged that mistakes had been made and agreed that the stewarding could have been better. Hence the more sensible stewarding proposed. Hopefully local stewards posted at the same point every week will allow them to build a rapor with the fans and therefore a better understanding of what is and what isn't acceptable. Alan Savage is really behind this and will do what he can to facilitate it. One valid question tonight was from programme sellers who get a free admission as part of their wages, they usually just have to sit where they can, but it might be difficult for them to join their friends in the singing section permanently as they don't actually have season tickets as such. There will be a way round that though. Remember that before the tickets for the big games go on sale, season ticket holders have the opportunity to purchase extra tickets, so this could be utilised to increase the singing section prior to public sale. The Trust will continue to liase with the club in the implementation of this so please keep adding your points and concerns.

Okay I'll try to explain my understanding of it. The fact is that we don't have it yet so the energy is all going into getting the necessary planning approval etc and then to have it in place. 530 extra seats will be added to the capacity. Season tickets will be available (probably at North Stand prices). During most games it is expected that there will be quite a few empty seats and that is when you will be free to roam from your current seat to try out the singing section. If you like it there is no reason why you don't move there on a permanent basis. For the bigger games it will need to be sold out to basically cover the costs involved so that the club should break even at the end of the season. So for the bigger games (you know the ones) every seat in the new stand will be sold. Does that help. Meantime, just buy your season ticket wherever you want or renew your existing seats. Once the new stand is in place there will be more information regarding moving or buying new seats in that area. I say well done to the Chairman and the board for being forward thinking in this, so let's get behind it and make it work. :clapping03:
