  1. I thought it was obvious.....its his media skills! I remember Brewster was astonished by how unfit the players had become when he returned. I think this may have a lot to do with it. Too much chillin' in Starbucks and not enough slogging up Torvean quarry with breeze blocks in a rucksack.
  2. You aren't going to win the league. You do know that, don't you?
  3. If there is one side I like to see us beating it is Partick. Whinging gets.
  4. hey - less of the 'Old' Unless of course you're refering to my old man - therefore, carry on.!!!! Yeah and less of the dithering and ignorant too.
  5. Yes, it's that time again. Roll out the empty barrels. Butcher is here till the end of the season. He lost a game. Get over it.
  6. We were in The Foundry before the match on Sunday. Dee fans shouting at the Telly about the Arabs winning then when Dods scored the winner, it was all "ICT Inverness b*stard". We were hoping it was an omen!
  7. No team deserved to lose, but ICT deserved to win. I am sure BBC Alippa were well chuffed with what they got.
  8. On the contrary isn't that exactly what the manager should be doing. There are two things at stake here, morale and fitness. One player gets his head down after a turn in the game that is his fault, but if all of them do it, it is the managers. The team looked down as soon as they came out, when the first went in that just gave them the excuse to look beaten. Secondly fitness, are the team as fit as they were under He Who Shall Not be Named? I would doubt it, but I would also ask whether that is significant or not. Other than that, my criticism is that like on so many occasions before the subs were too late. They should have been on after the second. What is it they say about hindsight being 20/20 vision?
  9. As above, I was walking on air after the first half, it was like the old Pele days. Total attacking football. Over tea, we were pinching ourselves and saying, this is going to collapse. Then the 2nd half it did. From one minute in I knew the oomf had gone. Butcher should have brought on Ody and Imrie when the 2nd went in. If Cox for Sanchez is the answer, wtf was the question? Listening to Butcher's aftermatch interview, he got it absolutely right, but when did he notice the formation changed, and why didn't he try to address it. Jocky Scott is a wily fox, Butcher needs to learn that managers at this level are going to read him and make changes. OPs are right about Golly, no speed anymore, but can do a limited job well, git found out today for all the goals. Munro no help for him. Bully played much better today, but Tokers found out by the no 11. I do have some reservations that Esson looked jittery and did too much punching, which contributed to the 2nd goal. Imrie=hothead, that's three games in a row to handshake from sir. I also predict that Golly will be away, no surprise, but that Munro will be off at the end of the season, too secure, never fulfilled his earlier promise, needs a challenge. I don't know if Dundee are good enough to win this league but we certainly aren't not unless we can make some consistent effort to last more that 45 mins a week. Diddy funny speaking cup anyway.
  10. At the risk of being a "neg", I am not sure about ICT doing this, unless they have anything to gain from it. Nor do I swallow the Clach "community club" idea. This has happened too often to be real. If the community wanted the club, they would make sure it survived by going to the games, and social club, with the managers managing the cash responsibly.
  11. As one of the old skool and a sweety rustler to boot, I can echo what Scotty is saying. I used to visit this site because it enriched my experience of being an ICT supporter; getting views of other on the games, latest news, some insider stuff, wind-ups, wit and banter. Now I find I have to dredge through so much crap just to get anything decent. You and Don have done great work, and I appreciate what you are saying, it is a thankless task, and some of the folk that give you problems are like kids playing footy in the street, they are left to their own devices until they get rowdier and something gets smashed, they are told to go, so they whine about unfair treatment. Yeah it is about age difference, but it is, as Alex said about respect and self-policing. Where better to be a loud aggressive bully than the internet...total coverage + anonymity = twathood. I like RonnyC's idea of earning the right to post, but also what about a "little brother site"? Get the younger folk to set up their own site with their own mods to police as they will, nothing like power for teaching responsibility (cross fingers). Anyone can join either/both site, but people will soon find which they prefer. And if they can't set it up for themselves, set it up for them. Again my thanks to you both and all the other mods for fighting the "sh1tstorm"; you must love the club a great deal to put up with the nonsense.
  12. Fairly boring game today. Tokely should be forgiven, as I think he was both hurt and a bit upset about being injured. The only flash of quality today was Eric's goal. If anyone can make us top of the league it will be him. Good night.
  13. Then again, halp our squad is Irish and what they don't know about infighting, isn't worth knowing.
  14. Talking shyte does not constitute mind games. Witty, insightful banter (are we not aliens springs to mind) is. Retard. I have a psychology degree and have 3 daughters and a wife... when you have these qualifications, come on here and tell me what is and what is not mind games... idiot! Great! You have both the theoretical and the practical cornered there, and believe me I know.
  15. Thanks :) :) :) If there is to be a DVD (and I hope that there is) it will be a 10th anniversary edition and as the 10th Anniversary isn't until February, so don't hold your breath for news just quite yet. First chance to see the whole 90 minutes of the game will be at the dinner in the Drumossie on Feb 6th. See 'Still a night to remember' thread. We are hoping to release a DVD soon after, but there are many hoops to jump through yet before we can make any promises. I've got it on VHS. Could easily convert it to a DVD. But then that's probably illegal... Totally. Put me down for a copy.
  16. The fact that Barrowman wasn't playing should not make him exempt from criticism.
  17. haha something about mobility too, then. Also why did the ball fall for Duncan outside the box on more than one occassion only for him to RowZ it, inevitably. This much I do know about shooting on goal....DO NOT LEAN BACK!. I am not a pro-footballer, this advice is free. And I'll not even mention his talking back.
  18. From my limited vantage point it looked to me that Bully was a very weak link today, Tokely seemed to gravitate towards him, waiting to cover for his error. He needs replaced at the sales. Not one of Russels best games either. The two early goals ruined the confidence, heads went down just like before the "run", and the shape was lost, though to be fair, the sun didnt help. From that point County didnt have anything to prove. I wouldn't say they are netter than us, but someone there knows how to unsettle us. Not a happy day, but next Saturday, I hope will see the fire return to some of the bellys. We know they can do better. I hope they get the ketchup kid, because if they don't next time it will be something thrown a lot harder. This reflects badly on the club, and I am beginning to think there are some who don't even care about that.
  19. Canal may be more accurate then. Surely a more adroit comparison would be against a river of a capital city, in which case, it puts the Water of Leith in the shade. I have been to Dublin once, and a great time though.
  20. Yeah, I thought that, like sitting in Greenock and calling it the banks of the Clyde, which it may be. The Liffey btw is more like a stream than a river, through the centre of Dublin, so they have nothing to talk about. Very accurate article. Hill walking, indeed.
  21. hahaha That is choice!!
  22. :) can't believe you washed :) I mind a game againt, maybe Killie, when he was in posession in the midfield and was being rapdily closed down by two opponents. "Look out Paul" we yelled. Sheerin flicked it up and skipped out of the two tackles, one of whom was on his blindside. The two opponents clashed into each other, and were both grounded requiring medical attention. Pure Keystone cops. He could usually make something happen.
  23. Gee, I never knew they did that on purpose. This thread is educational. btw did anyone see Rosco's near post header late on, not far off target.
  24. hahaha The irony! B'man has had all his chances. Rooney is up and staying up. Sorry for being a "neg".
  25. Totally agree. It was like watching the Golly of old. Absolutely immense. He was doing all the shouting and pointing, and telling Munro what should be done, as far as I could see. Old head, but still some life in the legs too.
