HEARTS 4 - 1 ICT (final score) (26/08/06)
I feel a bit better after all those reassurances, but the slips are still slips. Lets call it a blip. On the other hand we have nw played the top 3 clubs. So that is them out of the way for a while. I am sure we will improve, I still get a sense that CC is testing out.

ICT v Dumbarton
I'll second that. It was maybe that he was away from his regular holding roll for at least part of the game that he got a few flourishes in. I am quite liking that he is no longer a cert for theteam, as I feel CC is testing his options at this part of he season, but he cannot be overlooked. Jeez, I never thought I'd ever say that. Bayne for a start today, I hope, but the Denzil likes to play well against the Jams.

ICT v Dumbarton
Like pulling teeth. At half time there was a suspicion an upset as on the cards. Wyness' goal was a deflection of of of a defender not an outstanding double shuffle curler. He is still to find form. McAllister's goal was a corker, and tell teh truth Bayne's wasn't bad either, but he is still lacking a bit of ooomph. Low spot was Hart chucking away his bandage petulantly when subbed. Charlie has his reason's, and it's not for us to know them. Hart played quite well throughout. But as always my MOM was Rosco, who just ives and gives. Not a classic, but we're in the hat and I know we can raise our game.

ICT 1-1 CELTIC (20/08/06)
The secondhalf was our by a country mile, in fact the last 10mminutes of the first things looked up. Apart from their goal, which was a wee bit special, they didnt look like scoring - Marshall was every bit as busy as Brown. Bayne was much much better than I have seen him recently, though I would give pass marks to evryone. Though Keogh made the best out of a bad job, and Rankine was better tracking back than going forward. Ace goal silenced the Bhoys! Brill. Compared to last week, this looked like a team that could get a top 6 place. Finally a special mention for the ref. Where did you hide your dog collar? Card happy eejit.

ICT V HIBS - final score 0-0
It looked like what it was - 2 mid table teams scrapping for points. A draw was a fair result, but more vroom needed in attack. How is the Brewster legacy - fitness level going? That Jones was getting away with a lot - they are a big tough back four. We need Dennis to start scoring. Being creative is notenough. I was pleased that Dods looked interested, after the recent news. A good game all in all.

Sheffield United Will Pump Us
Rankine played well and showed a great deal of vision, which no-one in the team seemed to play to yet. He will be an asset. McBain played well sent in a perfect cross for one of the many Bayne misses - what is he for. Golly, Caff, Denzil poor. The comedy second half was great, but I realised how much we lost when we lost Taxi Sheerin, he still has it. Sign this man now!! The Blades looked superb at points, and ghosted through our defence. Shows you how much Dods is needed. I will be watching for them. They are going to be my wee team, now that County are going up - it says here. The stand erupted with laughter when Barry missed the penalty. I just hope we can be so forgiving when St.Mirren come calling. In the meantime we know who ate all the pies. It was Robbo.

Goalscorer Desperately needed.
Good comment. Maybe we should cash in on Marco Brown - we don't seem to need him. *touch wood*

Scotsport SPL Hands Out Red Cards To Julyan & Sarah
Hip hip hooray! NOT! They get rid of the fey Orcadian and the woman...only to be replaced by another couple of Central Belt ex-players. It was not Julyan and Sarah's fault the programme hated ICT, nor will their departure will do us any favours. The increase size of slot will be gobbled up by increasing the amount of time they can spend to discussing Frenando Ricksen's pyrotechnic shortcomings ect ect

Coaching at Motherwell
QUOTE "It is embarrassing. We have only ever been in one final and two semi-finals. How can we justify calling ourselves a world football power when we are not? We have become all Billy Big Time and become too big for our boots, and yet we have got nothing to shout about because we have done nothing. This is what annoys me. We have no right to be as confident or arrogant about our football as we are. It has been not been anywhere near good enough." QUOTE ENDS Several years coaching at Motherwell seemed to have given Terry Butcher a hefty dose of reality, unlike so any of his compatriots. He will be a loss to Scottish footie and should have been in the frame for the hot seat. Really wasted sitting on Bondi Beach sipping cold beer and watching the Sheilas. *Has a "George, where did it all go wrong?" moment* Full story. Terry tells it like it is, or at least like he sees it.

SPL Championship 2006/2007
After last season I am quite surprised that the OF are so close, must be the optimism of the French Connection. I still fancy the top 3 to be the same as last year, with us at 4, 5, or 6. There, Iv'e said it. I strongly fancyDunfermline for the drop. St. Mirren may well surprise all, and Falkirk are on a learning curve motivated by their battling spirit. Brewster will get till Christmas to show promise, then its offski.

On what park!!
Why is this forum still open? There is no park to be on currently!

POST MORTEM
I am glad Robbo did a bit for them, but pished off that the first thing that opportunist ******* does when they hit Div 1 is say that he doesn't like the rules and wants them changed! Who knows, someone should shake up the SFL though. Those playoffs were a disgrace, even though Partick stayed doon!
-
BACK TO 7TH
The Pimple is correct. It is absolutely certain that no matter who we were playing we would have beaten them. We were just getting warmed up throughout the season.

Yer favourite season
The next one. :004:

well done caley
I well recall that 4-0 game. The excitement of playing a big club, and the sheer volume that "Into the Valley" was played at. It was great to be there, result not with standing. Never thought of Pars as a joke team, they have been treated like **** by the SFL over the playing surface issue.
-
Well done CC and the team
Yep a record breaker, as comfirmed on Radio Scotland. NO SPL CLUB has one 5 on the trot with clean sheets. Absolutely stunning! Also, for fun pokers, Livi's season is THE WORST in SPL history. Poisoned chalice again, Robbo!
-
Well done Michael Fraser!
He had a very safe game, several good saves and one corker from a swerving shot in the second half. We can forgive the bad kickout. I hear Brewster is interested.

Oh, my aching sides!!
This is like the old "spot the ball" competition in the sports final! It was always far away from where you thought it was.
-
Oh, my aching sides!!
Me and Juanjo had a good old bellylaugh when we read this guote from Neil Lennon in the Skacel spat story... "I am not in the business of making things up or trying to get people into trouble." Mind you, I think Skacel is just as dodgy! PS Yes, this may be in the wrong forum, mods.

Golly
I got beeped for using a popular word to describe someone from East London. That's right...a *beep*!

Referee
With mme on just about all of those. That tube did skelp Rossco - just not very hard. It should have been a red. A passback is a passback - I've never heard anything about "intent" before. The keeper knew what he was doing when he picked it up, that's why Dargo left it, expecting to play football with him. Samuel is the second biggest cheat seen this season, though he did get clipped a few times. Light on his feet though he seemed to walk like an arthritic. Very fond of backing in too, as Dods showed.
-
Brewster home comming
Brown was quiet. Dods was mediocre. Black was resting and Dargo was cr*p. So that takes care of the shopping list then.

ICT v Dundee Utd
Laugh? I nearly forgave the team for playing such complete and utter nonsense.
-
THE GREAT ESCAPE?
CC will field the side that ensures we retain 7th place. Nothing else matters. But yes, I Hope Livi go dangling dahn, I think they have too much to do.

summer sighings
When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be about lying back in the long grass, sipping a can and staring at the cloud formations. Imagine my surprise ect ect
