  1. Thismay be correct. Rooney has had some great goals as volleys and one offs, usually from just outside the box. Slow start yes, but dont write him off yet. Now Barrowload on the other hand...
  2. Must have missed that - what is it with hiim and the Hammy fans? I would be quite happy for him to stay, he will be an asset, and may be irreplaceable at this late stage. We dont have the depth of pool to lose folk, unless there is a big fat chequebook being flashed about.
  3. So as an Ipswich manager, was he a mate of Big Terry's then?
  4. I'd go with that, but swap Esson and Rooney over. Butcher for Duncan and Malpas for Stratford.
  5. Much better showing. Terry probly gave them whatfor after the other night. Nothing to add on the above, the new lads looked the business and if TerrynJune can get them working well together, we will see some happy sights next season. What about Lionel in Central Defence? dint he do well?
  6. Yeah! Butcher and Malpas must go! It starts here!
  7. As frequently shown IHE has it right. We are a Div1 team until shown better, we have no right to be anywhere higher than bottom. Everything has to be earned. Much of the tone in here sounds like the the squabbling of children who have had there toy, the SPL, taken away from them, and don't know what to do next. Forget last season. The cloth has been cut for this new suit. Now is where it's at. Enjoy.
  8. Jeez, a bruised ego...that can be a career breaker.
  9. I was relentlessly optimistic last time this season and I see no reason to break with that, so no bad notes today. The team seemed to come into their own in extra time, with Cox in particular putting himself about great style, the new Blackie. The RB Stratford didnt seem to do much wrong, and on accasions worked well with the no 7, in fact they both seemed to read each other better as the game went on. Lionel and Russel looked very animated. The no 11, Hayes? looked serioulsy threatening. Foran showed flashes of class. Nice seeing Richie getting a run at midfield. But - I should have guessed I couldnt do it... No finishers. Rooney seemed to be pulled out of position often. No one coming forward to help. Roy looked knackered. Supersub status beckons for him, again. Rosco gets caught out at centre, just doesnt read the game. Where Big Bobby had a few distribution tricks up his sleeve, Rosco has one. Where was The Eagle? Crap game, on paper we shoudl have buried them by 20 mins. If Terry can get the best perumtation out of that, then things may be well, but again, I feel it wont be pretty. Bring on The Arabs.
  10. Would there not be problems for away games, presumably negotiations would have to be done on a per club basis. Wouldn't it be great if the whole SFL could come on board? Mind you, I suspect such organisation, would just be a gateway for big business. I would be delighted to pay a subscription, if I could get a streaming commentary on away games, especially, if I thought that the club could benefit from any excess beyond costs. Great idea, I will follow this one.
  11. Quite a good ploy for Butcher though. He gets to see all three of his keepers in action. ICT had two keepers in action? No wonder we won!
  12. all the best XX
  13. New club....time to settle in...blah blah. Same old goalposts, mind.
  14. He would probably find English easier to understand. In his interview after Partick we all expected half broken english and instead we got the most english accent possible. He speaks English with an estuary accent. I met him at Blockbusters where he was flicking through the adult section buying some ice cream. He is surprisingly short. Shame he has gone. He could have been the new Bingham.
  15. Foran will score Odi will score Rooney will score Barrowboy will be found out
  16. I have had very brief dealings with MS, and can say that in my experience he was professional and honest. Think of him as having nothing to do with the football and as a business manager. And in that he has performed well.
  17. I think it will be that Irish Striker, Owen Ghoal.
  18. Fair question. If I did name a name, how would that substantiate it? I could name any, or all, of a dozen names. What would be your next question, or course of action?
  19. Andy Beattie I remember from my kidhood. He used to do this special gather of cross balls using one hand and pull them down to his body. He was also number 1 choice for the British Army team for a while, whilst playing with us. Some accolade.
  20. Bit of a red herring, as it doesn't really matter who the unpaid employee was, just that it happened at all. It wouldn't be appropriate to name names.
  21. Haha. I saw Mike Teasdale in Elgin a few weeks ago, he was blowing his nose. Hope this helps.
  22. Is there a story there, Don?
  23. Classic blast from the past that!! runnys and stickys, Last touch or power counts... this is whats missing in todays football!! Not sure what "last touch" or "power counts" are, please explain. I recall "3 corners a penalty" and "headers, flicks or fancies" though.
  24. long standing ICT backroom boy was called to the boss and told that he would be have to be made redundant as a cost cutting measure? Only for him to proffer the reply that he has been working as a volunteer for the last x number of years?
