  1. Ah, happy memories! Great stuff. Well done to al concerned. Thanks for your efforts.
  2. Oh christ, whisky is my life! haha. Celebrating with a wee dram the nite, bring on the Raith. Had a lovely sing song the nite, mon eh caley My wife and I will be celebrating an ICT win in our usual way. You'll be wanting us to stay in the 1st Division then heh heh For the SPL we shift the bar to a score draw.
  3. Terry's comments are a wind-up of the best kind. Not only gracious in victory, which is good, but admitting that the sending off, and subsequent goal, may have been unjustified. Class. All too late. No-one would have said that at the time. Bet Adams loved reading that comment. However, having watched a 10-man Arabs disposing of Motherwell effortlessly on the telly midweek. I was taking nothing for granted. Till the 3rd. Then County just seemed to lose interest. Great!
  4. Kiri is right again. I didn't know it at the time, but as soon as the Scotland job was lost, Terry became the manager we needed. I didn't think we would be where we are now, and thought that they would both be off, leaving us to find a "prospect" and a few more seasons in Div1. I never called for his head, because a) the results were never as consistently bad as under Brew's losing run and :004: I had a feeling that things were going to go right; I had faith that Rooney would come good, once the pressure to persist with Barrowload had abated, that Cox, Eric and others had it, but not consistently, I knew Golly would work for us. He tried a lot of things, not all worked, but his exprimentation was rewarding. It was a sad day when he shouted at the fans, and I thought it would be downhill from there. I hope, and it seems likely, that he will take us up. They will continue to improve as a management team, and I hope the board will back them with cash to retain and buy players. But most of all I hope that, all going to plan, they will stick two fingers up at anyone who knocks at their door over the next few years, and let's really see some action. As a footnote, I will admit, I had my doubts about the board and Mr. Tulloch's speil about coming up this season, especially with the lack of Xmas shopping. What did Terry do to convince them? Could it be that the board know what they are doing after all? Are you there, IHE?
  5. Maybe, but not as sad as not going to the game at all. When I find myself at matches alone, I just start talking. "C'mon!" "Wide!" "Track back, Rosco" etc. before long someone nearby, starts talking back!

  7. I am well ecstatic at that result. Great goals - Foran's strike took a deflection and looped over the keeper. Eric's strike was a volley, iirc, and was "the best goal at ICT for quite some time" according tomy neighbour, and Johnny's run was the kind of thing we know he can do, when he doesn't put in killer crosses. Word on the terraces was that the defender jumped up from tackling Rooney and pushed the ref. Not the kind of diplomacy that encourages leniency. I think we would have stuffed them none-the-less. Terry and June have learned how to play against County by now, that was evident from the debacle at Dingwall. Adams, boy wonder, still has a lot to learn about football and manners, reminscent of the paint kicker. Second half was a mess, but who cared. Top notch stuff, and I thought Cox had a commanding game in midfield. Eric showed more class, than before, but will still improve. He will be an SPL player. There, I've said it... It will take some performance to end this run.
  8. oOoOOoOoOOoOo i'm all excited :crazy02: :P :crazy07: tonight just cant come quick enough Wish the weather would calm down tho Yep, double socks tonight!
  9. Douglas Campbell is The Herald's tame Plastic Whistle supporter. Last time Caley got a result against them he did the match report and it was the sourest, whingiest I've ever read, just what you'd expect from one of the Firhill surname clan. Maybe he's grown up. I dont really go with this "rivals stuff"; they are all pretty much the same to me, but I get particular pleasure when we beat Partick. And as you say the adjective that applies is "whingy", must be a Glesca thing.
  10. Considering we were relegated last year on a record number of points, this is a dodgy way of looking at it.
  11. To some extent I agree with you, but who knows what happens when in the SPl. We had targets when we were there too. I wonder what would happen if a team won the league then said, "No Thanks"! hehe
  12. Brilliant! I am so chuffed, especially with other results going with us. Looking forward to getting a good result on Tuesday. But PLease...it aint over till it's over!!!!
  13. The run may end, the run may not. But there is still a fair whack to go before the season ends. Many a slip...I think the league lead may yet change, but hopefully change back.
  14. I think when Terry stopped the Scotland job, he startedthinking about how to make this lot work, and by golly he has. He has got all the new lads working well together, and stuck the old stagers in. It is his insight and work that made this team gell. I applaud him.
  15. While CD was announcing we lost 5 home games. Since his demise we've only lost 1. :024: Let's get him to apply for a job at County
  16. Half-time at the quiet end of the stand. Loads of pies left, they had over ordered. But was there one macaroni one? Was there heck!
  17. Did I hear, "And going off it's Robert Eagle"? Poor show, bring back Don, once we work out who owns the stadium.
  18. If Airdrie could beat Dundee 3-0, it must have been a very bad day at Dens. They are very poor. Done at walking pace today, MOM Foran, what a difference he makes. Sanchez missed and embarrassing number of sitters, but we laughed and joked anyway. He's not really a striker, is he. Rosco picking up everything in the midfield. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that no-one played badly, even though there were a few comedy moments. eg Ross running out of ideas, towards the end. PLenty time yet, young un. Great results all round. Not too bothered either way about County, but anything that adds to the fixture congestion has to be good. They are a good side, and we may just need that bit of help. Here's to tired legs and a draw v Dundee. And a good win for us at Partick.
  19. Nice post, Bauhaus
  20. Indeed. I don't like to bet against us, but that might be too good to miss, also Dunfermline.
  21. I don't think Granty played that badly yesterday, my point is that he hasn't improved in recent years. He found his game beside Mann, improved it under Dodds, but on his departure seemed to stop still. I would suggest that the burden of the captaincy may have had a lot to do with it, alternately, the fact that he has never had to work to defend his place, may too be a factor. Also, his withdrawn Heelan persoanlity may also have a lot to do with it. I would agree that Russell was superb yesterday and standout last week too. Committment in barrowloads, but I feel he is too hotheaded for the captaincy just now. Combine that drive with a bit of subtlety and you have leadership material. Maybe, however, getting the band willbring that on.
  22. beat county on Saturday and we wont have to worry about them , i still feel its about Dundee I have a feeling that it will be between us and County too. However, there is stilla way to go before the end. Plenty of time to win the league and lose it again. Saturday will be important, but not fatal.
  23. That's touching innit. He must be like a Dad to Rossco. He owes him so much.
  24. Dont be too hard on Ross, he had neither the physical prescent nor the experience to deal with a very attentive MOrton side. I had no idea how the goial was going to come, but a goalies error was what was required. They all count. Foran was badly missed. No-one up front played well. A nd County will be a lot less forgiving than Morton who had one shot on goal. Esson could have had a nap roday. My MOM was Duncan who was a powerhouse in midfield and if his trademark missed pass was evident, then he certainly wasn't the only one. Hayes seemed to be lost, as did Rooney. Eric needs to beef up, some good touches, but still expected too much time on the ball. Golly was fairly solid. As we say win ugly, but win. Pleased for County, for the distraction, but disappointed Raith won, as we could do with a similar effect at Dens. QOS look to be heading out of the race. All good.
  25. This is not good news. Foran has embedded himself well within the team, and has not been less than first choice all season. I am tempted to side with the poster who decliams the absence of Imrie. However, we gotta get on with it, and fortunately Morton will cut as a bit more slack than County will. So Saturday should be looked as a good opportunity to test "depth of pool"because, rest assured something like this will happen again before May, either through suspension or injury. I predict a win, however.
