  1. I know it hasn't been the greatest start ever to a season (better than most mind you) but that is 4 home games played and so far it reads P4, W0, D3, L1, F2, A3. Is last seasons curse of the TCS continuing or has it just been the standard of opposition in there? CC really must be looking to address this as a matter of urgency, our home from is simply not good enough IMO. If 2 of those draws had been wins, or we had beaten St Mirren, we would be sitting beside Hearts!
  2. Don't think it is an secret Blacky will be long gone before 2009, all this contract gives us is the leeway to make some decent $$$ from the sale (assuming he is still hot property at end of the season!) Think it was widely acknowledged that most of the squad thought Brewster was a bit of a pr1ck?
  3. Nairn only really created 2 chances in the whole game, if I remember, and took one. Well done to them and with us having Munro, Hastings, Keogh, Hart and Black playing (all of whom really did sweet FA, Richie Hart very wasteful in front of goal with 3 decent opportunities). Best ICT performances came from Zander Sutherland (very fast, very tricky and very direct. Went 1 on 1 with the keeper and kinda panicked I think when he really should have chipped him, made the chance himself though) and David Watson (my MOTM). Know nothing about this kid but he played the Russel Duncan role but much more mobile, eager and passing was top notch. Don't think he wasted a pass. When Blacky came on in the middle he was moved to right back and again was solid, didn't waste a pass and was full of energy.
  4. Charlie quoted in H/N saying he didn't think the lad didn't realise Inverness wasn't he back and beyond... Looks liek he never will! Ah well, his loss!
  5. Grant only really came into the team when we moved up to the SPL and he has proved he is a tremendous centre half. I'm surprised he hasn't attracted attention from elsewhere too but perfectly happy for that situation to continue!! Captain from next season. Who else is there?
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if thats the case, Inverness has a lot of people who leave for a variety of reasons such as Uni, better job prospects, letc. I'd say a relatively high % of our support is 'ex-pat' and very few of these are going to make the effort to travel a minimum of 300 miles on a Wednesday night to watch Dumbarton, never mind how attractive the ticket prices. Add to that that the game isn't included in season tickets (I think? correct me if I'm wrong), which a lot of people have just paid for and probably still feeling the pinch and suddenly you have a large number of supporters who can't afford another odd £30. Basically what I'm saying is that did anyone really expect anymore than what the Dumbarton crowd was?? If we are attracting crowds like that, for example, Motherwell or Killie, that is the time to worry and question it, not against a 3rd Division side!!
  7. I live in Glasgow and had a season ticket for 3 years but didn't renew as I couldn't justify the cost as I didn't make enough games. As a reult I have to pick and choose my games and, obviously, Dumbarton on a Wednesday night is nowhere near as attractive as Celtic on sunday. I will make maybe 4/5 home games this year and I would imagine that Rangers/Celtic/Aberdeen will be the home games I'll make an effort for as they are the most attractive. I'd also wager that many fans are in the same position and that when all the costs are included (travel, tickets, food, drink, etc) and comes to about £70 for about an hour and a halfs entertainment, not to mention days off work/away from family/etc it is often too much. Don't assume I, or anyone else in a similar position, is less of a fan or a gloryhunter. I've followed the club home and away since our first game against St. Mirren in 1994 at considerable cost and sacrifice. It is about prioritising and posts, like RIGs at the start, don't encourage floating fans to return. It creates animosity, a them and us between the self proclaimed 'hardcore' or 'real' fans and those who attend when they can or choose to.
  8. Any word on who the striker is thats being hinted at in the article?
  9. Think you can put SPL into 3 leagues 1) Celtic, Hearts, Rangers 2) Hibs, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, ICT 3) Dundee Utd, Dunfermline, Falkirk, St Mirren Any result against the top 3 is a bonus, I think we should be beating second group at home and running close away and we should always be looking for 3 points against the bottom group. I think thats pretty realistic, the only team who maybe would move are United into the 2nd group, but that remains to be seen.
  10. Did Charlie Christie not play against us for Clach at some point?
  11. It appears Brewster has shifted his attention from Brown certainly and Dodds probably... BBC Sport
  12. Rory has a lot of potential, we probably haven't had a young player with so much to offer in our history. That said, I don't think he is ready for the SPL. He is only 18 and is practically our 3rd choice striker. I think if Brewster had stayed then Rory may well have spent the 2nd half of season out on loan. We need to get another striker in over the summer, someone who can push Denzil and Dargo for their places (which Bayne isn't) and allow Rory to go to someone in Division 1 for a season and gain the experience of how to 'mix-it'. The enthusiasm and ability (remember his dribble and shot from the corner flag against...? !!) are there, he just eeds the experience to back it up.
  13. We cant go any further up the league, we cant drop down the league, it's gotta be time to let the likes of Fraser, Parratt, McAllister, Fox, Sutherland have the opportunity of experiencing first team matches. We really have nothing to play for now!
  14. Livingston fans only minutes (surely?) after being relegated... Says it all...
  15. Fox came on today and did ok, think he will probably be moved on though. Bayne got lucky, he was signed to be div 1 back up and ended up playing SPL. I think he'll be goe too. Don't understand why McBain is metnioned. He is versatile and always puts in a good shift. Definitely one to hold onto.
  16. BBC SportScotland No metnion of figures but 22 extra opportunities to be on the box with no OF involvement should be good?
  17. Just pay at the gate surely? Hope so, Im heading to this one and not even considered needing a ticket beforehand.
  18. Craig Dargo has made the SportScotland team of the year. Think this proves just how good a season he has had really when he's been recognised ahead of Harson, Zurawski, Riordan, et al. Personally my team of year would be: Gordon in goal, Tokely, Mulgrew (even after saturday), Pressley & McManus in defence, Burke, Maloney, Hartley and Thomson in midfield with Dargo and Boyd up front
  19. Surely a mini tour of northern england playing teams like carlisle, oldham, hull, etc. wouldn't be out of our reach?
  20. Brian Irvine sems to have got in there and doing well now though? Cant really see a way back in to SFL management for Pele up north unless Stewarty goes. His chance at the county job was probably now. Mind you, if he has his life sorted at Forres and is enjoying it, why move?
  21. EWS, how can you say that managers don't know enough?? Kinda invalidates any opinion they have on any aspect of foot ball if you are saying guys who have built careers in the game are inexperienced!! What I'm aiming at is that the match asessor and the managers, or a representative, of both teams meet 2 or 3 days after a game - once emotions have calmed down and away from the immediate post match - and discuss any flashpoints/incorrect decisions and agree on a rating for the referee. I think this would improve relations between clubs, referees, SFA and the media as explanation of decisions and issues on either side could be discussed. Persistently poor referees would be identified and brought into line/demoted as there would actually be a proper grading for our top officials as opposed to every class 1 ref technically being the same standard - which they are not!
  22. Don't think disciplining referees is an option really! Maybe a points system where referees are judged by managers, (say a day or 2 after the game!) and assessors and a combined rating agreed. A record/table kept of these scores and used to grade referees and at the end of each season the top 12 or whatever in the country do the following seasons games?
  23. Think Black would be exactly what Celtic would want in their midfield, he is a Lennon/Keane type of player. A possible long term replacement I would say. The Hart rumours were true, O'Neill did have him watched last season!
  24. As long as England go out, either in the group stage or, failing that, in the semi final on penalties after 2, maybe 3, disputed goals (for or against, I'm not fussy) after the English media have gone OTT and basically planned the victory parade round Buckingham Palce. Hilarious every time! 8)
  25. Definitely for, the last few games would have been meaningless without it. Take on board the point about travel plans, etc, though. That is an almighty pain in the *** when arranging around work/looking for cheap fares to games.
