Mahonio--I suggested privately a very long time ago when you first came on here that you just take it easy and also gave you a couple of tips how to fit in and so forth. But , no, you prefer to become increasingly agitated, very angry, vitriolic and frequently swearing and sometimes you just lose it altogether -seemingly because people disagree with you and suggest you post in another more reasoned way. It's not life and death it's only a game. Personally speaking, I would prefer that you do now take a break and calm down because I find your posting to be very disagreeable, upsetting and not appropriate. And I am now suffering from a severe case of fed-upism. When you are so extreme and think almost everyone hates you this is simply over-the-top -ism. It's not just show-boating because I think you actually believe all the stuff you throw out in your continual rants. It's just over-reacting to mostly relatively honest comments which are made with no ill intent. And if you allow others to get under your skin to this extent then you may be about to have a heart attack or a burst blood vessel. For.what? As for the other folks . Just thank them often for their posts or say ..."OOPS" a lot instead. Thank you.- 108 replies

Yes! I noticed what a great crowd we had on that momentous day.

It's O K, IHE , I can wait for you to answer the questions..... I, like Charles, am intrigued by the year of the first photo. And whether that was the Caley Stand that I watched burn from my mother's back bedroom window on Dunain Road in 1950--at the age of 12.--Looking iver the Howden's Nursery to the billowing smoke but was unable to see any flames.?

Since I followed the HIbs for six years when I lived in Edinburgh years and years ago, it would sadden me to see them go down. But to see Goldilocks, the unpredictable TB, go down would not sadden me at all. Treachery has it's own mistress and rewards. If he fails then I think he will be gone from Easter Road and may even have a very hard time continuing in Management anywhere. Brora? It will indeed be a severe test for him to show us all what a good manager he thinks he is by bringing them back up in one season.

Never forget that video. I thought that the St Johnstone player's goal was magnificent, though. And what a lovely day for such a momentous occasion. Lovely grub.

All spotted. What a fantastic set of photos from your past IHE. The stand on fire --was that the Caley Stand or Thistle's? Them guys in the footie match--they sure wear short pants....? You wouldn't fit into them would you Itchy? The pants,. not the team you ....... I could see Dunain Road where I lived for the first 18 years of my life--man that's a really neat picture and, yes, I did enlarge it . But you know why an older man got like me doesn't go on Facebook 'cos it's for younger 'uns like you. IHE what is your description of a Clinical Psychologist? I was looking into the Billy Connolly story and he is married to a New Zealand woman who has that designation , not to mention quite a successful career on BBC Radio ("Not the 9o'clock News" for one) and T V. She wrote his biography. keep em coming--we could do with a lot more pictures and humour like this!

YES, AND I AM GLAD THAT YOU REMINDED US OF THAT PARTICULAR FANTASTIC GQAL AND CONTROL 0F THE BALL IN A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION. Essentially that goal put us into the final and a load of money into the club coffers. .

Er, IHE ---where is that? Not the carse is it? Can I see the Bumbers lane ?

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd

Yes I think all things considered. the crowd was as expected. Al Agui--if he is the big , black guy I am thinking of then he's a really dangerous and skilful player. Wish I coud see the games on video so that we can make up our own minds on what's what. One day though! If booting the ball up the park, instead of tryig to fancy-foot your way out of our own penalty box, then so be it. It means one thing--the opposition spends time and energy running backwards and not towards our goal and gives our boys a breather. just thinking... Cheers S P- 63 replies

Attendance seems what we might have expected based on recent previous crowds, especially in view of recent results and end of season in sight.- 63 replies

What if young Christie did very well in the first team and then asked for a transfer to . What then. Nick is a neat player but does tend to get pushed off the ball rather too easily from what I have witnessed. Could bulk up a wee bit perhaps.

Laurence --you certainly have come out of the woodwork with some bizarre views. Such as :" Half our team will go to Hibs?" Baloney! I give them more credit for staying at ICT than you obviously do and for good reason. Butcher betrayed us --in advance before he actually left, for one thing. He is a desperate man now and cannot be trusted. Your views on swearing on here do create concern . We now assume that you fully approve of it. Well, there is nothing like setting out your stall in public. If, as you say, the poster is entitled to pit talk because his or her command of the English language is very poor then I suppose that poor spelling is also acceptable as an excuse to swear as well--check yours and use the spell checker. provided. If you saw my posts before I use the spell-checker then you would have something to complain about. Re: Contracts : a Contracts are usually in writing so that the terms cannot be changed without very compelling reasons. As I was taught at school--and yes, that wasn't yesterday, meaning the value and implementation of a contract goes back at least as far as Magna Carta and the terms of one are pre-supposed to have already been thought out and assessed etc. etc well before signatures are appended. IT is NOT open for change in midstream at the whim of either party. In short--remember the old adage: "A contract is a contract is a contract." Here's another old adage for you : "" I'll mquit whilst I am ahread." OOps , sorry, Laurence I am so exhausted by working in thengardeh today that I forgit tpo ,spell check ...... SHOOT! .

Have come to the conclusion this thread may be closed with great advantage to all. It's run it's course. Will at least stop the swearing from some posters.

Well, Davie, for what it is worth, your post is the constructive and positively-orientated one that I have hoped for from the naysayers for a long time. It comes across as thoughtful and insightful and if I were the manager it would be sending a ray of hope to me that my emotional body was not going to be destroyed every week by constant, brutally negative criticism. If J Hughes gets down because of this --and believe me he needs to be strong to weather this type of unrelenting attack.-- it is no wonder he may not be able to lift up and continue to inspire the players because they can read as well as we can. It's like kicking someone when he or she is down. What I am left wondering is whether or not some of the more rabidly negative whiners on here would ever help a lame dog over a style? And the bizarre suggestion that allowing Richie Foran to handle the next three games is not worthy of a reply because obviously it must have been made with tongue in cheek.

The Big Scottish Independence Debate

Pull My Finger you have hit the nail upon the head, I think. Currently I have dual citizenship but I no longer use a British passport. But whqat happens after that I really don't think anyone really knows at this juncture. We will have to wait for the outcome of the vote before the charges and counter charges will be levelled. Or decisions on this point will be made. I think my Nationality is British and Canadian , if that is possible, because I have the former by birth and the latter by swearing the oath at the ceremony you go through with the official at the podium and the Mountie standing alongside the Canadian flag resplendent in dress uniform. Which is followed by getting an identity card attesting to your citizenship. I am sure New Zealand will have a similar procedure like the rest of the ex Commonwealth countries . -
Yep it took Alex Ferguson at least five years to fully establish his reputation and position at Manchester United. Different era rite enuff.

Roarer Re your post # 60: Yes, I agree, Alex is coming along rather well, don't you think. ? He responds well to a good teacher I have found. Oh Gosh, golly. It is so humbling to be mentioned in dispatches like this. -
What's an era Kingsmills? Is that an area without borders? Och, yer nae shure..eh? O.K. then just let's say we include Caley F. C. prior to the merger and then ah'm hame and dry as it were.

The Big Scottish Independence Debate
Scarlet Pimple replied to Laurence's topic in Serious Discussion
It will never happen,IBM. T3wo totally different personalities and never the :smile:twain shall meet perhaps Now, I have lived in Canada for over 40 years and did carry a British Passport until the London Bureaucrats put the price of getting a renewed passport up to stratospheric heights. So I renewed my Canadian passport and find it works just as well when I visit Britain. No significant delays at the airport of entry and no hassles thereafter because, once I am in Britain, so long as I can speak English and want to pay for a cup of tea at the Museum then Bob's Yer Uncle. But as an ex-pat pensioner of the DSS in Britain, the very fact that I live in Vancouver only 100 K from Seattle in the U.S. means that I have not had a single increase in my DSS pension since it started and never will. Why? Because anyone living in an ex-Commonwealth country such as Canada,. S .Africa,. Aussieland or N/.Z, will NEVER get their pension uprated for inflation under the tyrannical rule of the current British Government. This is the policy of the BRITISH Government just to save money. However if I live in Seattle or Berlin, Germany, or Toulouse, France, then miraculously these ex pat pensioners get an inflation increase once per year. How much does the London Government save by doing this--0.5% of the total pension budget for the year, that's ALL. So would I ever vote for these criminal, vicious self-serving thugs in suits? Never. The problem is that I may come back to live in Scotland but that is very unlikely since my wife's sons are now firmly started on their career paths and doing rather well actually. This huge country is not perfect but there is much more freedom and more scope to grow and thrive for those with initiative and a capacity for hard work so, if you are unhappy in Great Britain then emigrate to Canada. But I won't attempt to exercise my right to vote since it is very unlikely to affect my future life. My personal view is that this may be the only chance you will ever have to throw off the yoke of the parochial Westminster politicians. Does the born Scot, Cameron give a damn about Scotland per se? Not a chance ,because he is now firmly attached at the hip in a position of power to the Westminster power base and I trust him not. Not ever, never! And for the lad in New Zealand who may want to learn more about the World Alliance of British Pensioners setb up years ago to fight the London Government to the bitter end on this pensions discrimination issue faced by all expats living in ex Commonwealth countries, just send me a PM an d then vote for Scottish independence. -
Well, it is certainly turning out to be quite a colourful thread! Mahonio--I don't think anybody hates you. But getting very angry and using asterisks to swear and that sort of thing means you are getting a bit too angry, frustrated and wild. If you really think you are right why not try to use your reasons to win the day and let the chips fall where they may. Everybody is getting all hett up and frustrated but it's great to just get it off your chest and then move on I find. If your next post is moderate and nice then I will deffo give you a "like". To be truthful, I also find the constant copying and pasting of other people's posts on each new post to be so wasteful of space and makes the thread so long. And as a vision-impaired person, having to scroll through all this stuff is a mind-boggling experience. Doesn't anyone on here realise that we have already read all of them once and there is no need to repeat the anguish. I mean , to repeat long-winded posts like those from the Scarlet Pimple fella must be just soul destroying..like. It's only a game isn't it? yes or no?
-
Doofers Dad--I think it was just a case of his feelings waxing and waning on that point, that's all.
-
Time for you all to ask the Board the questions that you have posed on here then? I am surprised that you don't appear to have done that so far since you apparently have such strong feelings that John Hughes is a Smuck and the team is quite blameless. That would be constructive I suppose. Then advise us all of their answers.

:lol:Yep! King Beastie Brevity is the soul of wit. Thinks! ......."Shoot! What does that say of the Pimple's oft loquaciousness?" :crazy:Is he a wit or a twit?
