Well, if Terry does face the sack in a year or more, then what will he do and what club would be interested in hiring him? I'll bet he has at least a two year contract with a hefty payout if terminated prior to the end date. But, still, even if the monetary reward is spectacular he is still too young to retire and what team would approach him--Rangers?

Mo and Fo has to be considered as an option. Foran as Assistant and player as well. Deserves it, whatever. I guess Richie will be in FOR A NOD from the Board. No disturbing of the team , no new Manager to blood and fit in, no wariness from the players towards the new Manager. No new plans or techniques to upset the apple cart. Onward and upward. Worth a thought and maybe a trial try-out. Looks like this team is a train on a roll that nothing can derail. Holy smokes...how can we be so lucky! Turbulent and exciting times. New blood is maybe what we need. Obviously Mo and Steve were not as close to T B as maybe we thought and that's GREAT for ICT. Roll on the next gemme.

Scaffolder ,with a name like yours one can only shudder when we see you come on here. However, so be it, you must be in your own mind SHARP as a tack, green as a BLADE of grass and DEADLY as a masked raider gone sour. Are you the executioner or the guy who carries the wee hanky to wipe the blood off the block after the chopping is over? Approach the Hibees and offer your services 'cos the team apparently needs a chopping and a copping in order that it has the slightest chance of rising up the league again to prominence like it once had in the days of Turnbull and Pat Stanton. Just so you know, I once went to see the Hibs every other week for 6 Years when I lived in Edinburgh as a callow youth of some 28 years (about 1966). And I really enjoyed Easter road on the terracing across from the main stand. In these days the crowd was always about 12,000 average and today's crowd, presumably including a large contingent from Inverness, would be regarded as something of a disaster and a matter of great concern. If Butcher fails to make an immediate positive impact and the crowds dwindle even further where will his salary come from and who will come in as your next Manager. I feel sorry for the current state of affairs at Easter Road because past good times and loyalty can't be forgotten easily and I do wish your club the very best --so long as it is achieved by honest endeavour and commitment to the team. So, to be honest, nobody on here hates the Hibs, just your remarks I fear. Thank you for quoting some of my remarks. Be assured that these were not criticisms of Hibs in any way just directed at the underhand way that this has unfolded which smacks of a lack of integrity of purpose which does nobody any credit or good. And , remember the old adage..." if it can happen to me then it can happen to you as well" and you won't like it one bit when it does. And the older adage that a leopard does not change his spots.!!! Who do you think I am referring to? Think about it and get a touch of foreboding as the future unfolds. By the way, Caledonian F.C and Thistle F.C. were each formed WELL over 120 years ago so the pedigree may even be more sterling than that of Hibs. Our current success has been achieved because we are honest injuns and have character in the characters in our team. Sounds like some of your players don't even seem to want to try very hard which, if correct, is rather shameful especially when the chips are down. Good luck to Hibernian F.C. Mr S.- 127 replies

Oh My! "Oh, what a tangled web we weave others to deceive." Terry could not come back now after all this mayhem even if he wanted to. His credibility is now forever shattered. Just sitting in the stand alongside Mr Petrie before the ink is dry on his new contract and, officially, all is not yet done and dusted is a major faux-pas IMHO. He's crossed the Rubicon and I only hope the Board of our club sock it to Hibs with a hefty transfer fee being demanded. . What an altogether ,hasty, messy business this has proved to be.- 127 replies

Terry, Terry on the wall Thou art about to have a fall. Two years, your dream will be truly shattered To us it's problematical to wonder if it ever mattered To tell you the truth, methinks upon the wall of discontent your spirit will be truly splattered Thus upon your face you will feel as if you have been truly clattered. Think again , oh Terence , Lad The Ides of March are pointing to all that's bad Tickle my tonsils, frankly speaking, that's altogether rather sad Terry! Going to Hibs? Are you .....MAD? The Green and whites will help your pay cheque , but only a tad. Truth is that you will yearn for the salad days at Inverness There is no doubt, at Easter Road, your joy will be less Tardy? No matter , just come to Daddy and now confess That a mistake you may be making, no less Tinkerville would be a lot better Totally! "Cos when you beg to come back it's a lot closer!!

Kenny Miller did come on a ton when he was at the Vancouver Whitecaps recently after a slowish start where we were wondering if he was going to settle quickly enough to be able to make his mark on the team. But give credit where credit is due, he is quite a smart cookie and quite well spoken and he certainly tried very hard in his last season . Also he looks in top physical shape which always helps. At times his play was outstanding but it did not have the major impact it should have had because the support was not sharp enough or deadly enough to capitalise on his trickery. Some of the goals he sored were pure magic==persistence pays and a cool experienced head always helps. If Neil Lennon can be as successful as he has been since swapping his role of player for management, which is not at all an easy change, then I feel that the Board of ICT should interview Kenny and give his application very serious thought, even in a support role. One thing stands out for me--he has a mind of his own and could mature into a strong, passionate leader.- 127 replies

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24431067 After advising Caley Thistle fans earlier this season to watch out for Partick Thistle ,when I didn't know about this set-up in Glasgow, here is the skinny on the energy which is fuelling Partick's future rise to stardom? WOW! Imagine winning over 160 million pounds in a lottery? What would you do with all that money? It's almost unimaginable isn' t it? But the prospects of helping the needy, the sick, the disadvantaged, animals and health research AND Caley thistle is so vast that can someone please buy me a lottery ticket?

So long as ICT don't lose on the park then I am beginning to be past caring about the management situation. 25 pages ---- ''whew! OOPS!.. New reports coming in from the Daily Avenger in Edinburgh: Butcher states that he heard the strange sound of a battalion of police outside his door incanting "THE LEITH POLICE DISMISSETH US". DESPITE BEING URGED TO SAY THAT AS QUICKLY AS HE COULD AND REPEATING IT VIGOROUSLY FOR 5 MINUTES, HE chose the alternative and rolled over and went back to sleep. And the band played.."believe it if you like."

Who knows? Kenny Miller may actually be in the frame to replace Martin Rennie at the Vancouver Whitecaps. But, no, I don't quite think that he has been in Canada long enough to have sussed out all the subtleties of this country yet. The MLS covers a huge territory--Canada and the U.S.

ICT Chris Arte you trying to teach us a L-Esson?

If Robbo is considered to be desperate then some others of us could opine that he is simply an active man aggressively trying to improve his future prospects and should be given the respect he is due for not sitting around and just moping about the fact that he has not been in the Management frame for quite a long time instead of getting on with his search. I admire him for that. Robbo is not a nyaff, he's an aggressive fella who gets off his mark to keep his pot boiling. I don't envy him because who else is going to get him a decent job with prospects? Good luck to him I say and, if he was hired on at ICT , I believe that he would put a lot of effort into improving this club. For sure he appears to love the game and has been keeping into touch with all the other footie personalities around so, there you go. We could do a lot worse imho. If Terry did not have his two assistants to help him, where would he have been I wonder.? This is a speculative comment but not intended to be disparaging --just reviewing the past realities and the luck of the draw that he managed to engineer. After he goes, there won't be too many Managers that can obtain loanees from England so we had better look around for a Manager that is well-versed in Scottish football, has sympathetic contacts and can identify talent with a purpose in mind when he sees it.

This is opportunism at its best. What harm could it do to Mr Butcher's career if he stayed until the end of the season? There will always be another Hibs or another Barnsley--depending entirely on his performance, of course. But, assuming the team does very well from now on I am sure that after the season ends he would have been sought after by a large English club with an offer which he could honourably accept and thus leave with plaudits ringing in his ears. It is very difficult to say that the presence of his two assistants were the driving force behind his success to date but, without them I think his task in improving ICT to the current level would have immeasurably more difficult to achieve. Although I also think that many English Managers have been in ongoing direct contact with him offering him the opportunity of assessing and/or taking their younger players on loan for relatively short periods of time. In this connection this suited them very well since those players' real ability to rise to the challenge of the Scottish Premier League game would have been revealed which would have enhanced their value to that club greatly and, for Terry, it allowed an uplift in the overall performance of ICT. Whether that uplift for ICT was ultimately going to be long term or short term I rather fancy the latter since Terry had to leave sooner rather than later. His policy of taking good young prospects from England on a continuous basis did no harm to his own career prospects since, if one failed at relatively very minimal cost to the club and to him, then there was always another one waiting in the wings to take his place. So, if you are an admirer of strategic decision making with a very forward-looking bias, then you have to hand it to him for his vision if nothing else. If he is off to Hibs then good luck to him I suppose. But I am personally left with a feeling of perplexed incredulity and a feeling of disappointment that somehow we have been taken advantage of rather than having benefitted greatly. He may be the winner of this bout but will ICT continue to prosper under a new Manager without his having the same the same contacts in England. Each of you can answer that question for yourself but, as for Scarlet Baby, he honestly feels that, without having received any notice whatsoever, we have been left high and dry or--up the creek without a paddle, dears. Not exactly a very classy move Terry. Finally, I feel sorry for the hard working Board of ICT and particularly Kenny Cameron who appears to me to be a very decent and highly dedicated gentleman. This must be a blow to the heart.

Horlicks? Surely it must be horflicks since this movie is a nightmare.

If Neil Lennon can be a success at Celtic then Richie Foran could just a well be considered. But if Fenlon were to co0me in everybody would be talking "Oirish" in the dressing room--might cause mixed messages...

A bit of a tongue in cheek but Martin Rennie has just been sacked by the Vancouver Whitecaps and he hails from Golspie. But Martin does not appear to be able to get his backs from passing he ball either sideways to each other or back to one another and seems not to understand that the opposing goal is FORWARD. I hear that an English manager fined his players if they ever passed the ball back, so if we could find him then we could at least interview him couldn't we? Nah, I think he is a rather weak figure so probably would not work. And it might take him some time to get his thoughts up to speed on embracing the pace of Scottish football. A bit early yet to be thinking so far forward perhaps .

" The directors of the Highland club are far from happy at the way in which they perceive this business to have been conducted, however, and they are believed to be prepared to dig their heels in when it comes to calculating compensation for the loss of the 54-year-old’s services. " Is this just another erroneous news item? Or not? Fact is that if he has an Agent then he could have been approached by his agent with information from a Hibernian "source" by phone from Edinburgh to Loch Ness? Thus, if he said he had never spoken to Hibs' Board then it would be true after all but in no way would that statement hinder his personal progress. This opportunity could be a disaster waiting to happen for him. I doubt if anything can be so arranged to make Hibs a big winner this season. But next... who knows? If he falls off the cliff then the fall will be hard. If he stays here at Inverness and leads the team to great success this season then he may well leave with his head held high and get a terrific contract with a much bigger club in which case the very best to him. To old Pimple this seems to be a no-brainer--just stay until the end of the season. However, maybe he feels that if anything were to happen to one or both of his assistants then maybe the wheels might fall off ICT's bandwagon--after all, there's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip... The problem may be that for him a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and Hibs have been a big club so maybe the stars are in his eyes about what he is capable of achieving in the future. Methinks that the presence of Maurice and Steve are essential to Terry's success and if either refuses to move then his future could be clouded if he does. If he has been above- board with ICT then all we can do is wish him well. If not--then, I hope we thrash the HIBEES good and proper.

So, what will Caley's cut be from the crowd proceeds at Easter Road? 40%/40% with 20% going to Hibs?
-
Rod Petrie cold be the fly in the Hibs ointment --but exactly how I don't know. However he was controversial in the past so....? The other side of the coin is,however, that he seemed to support Fenlon all the way so? And Hibs ran Hearts ragged in the first half of the League Cup a few days ago so it could be that they have excellent players but Fenlon was just not the ruthlsss S.O.B. that, say, Alex Ferguson, was. There's a thought! Ferguson to Easter Road. Retirement is not all it's cracked up to be with bo0redom and inactivity having its effect . O.K Time to get back on the bike now so "Cheers". Views?

It looks like the guy has just taken his finger out of the left side of the official's face at the corner of his mouth leaving the cheek suitably holy. Maybe he was a religious chap trying to impress his faith on his face. The fickle finger of fate, like. So much for that flipping flare-up  fellas; I,m surprised he didn't fall flat on his face, ffs.

Eagle 4 Cley Well I guess you will be keeping an Eagle eye out for further announcements, eh?

Goodness! How much are our ex-lads getting paid I wonder.? And who is Brora anyway--a team with great ambition? Maybe the next big shock will be the hiring of teve Paterson. Wouldn't that set the heather on fire?

Looks like you are hoeing a lonely furrow here, Rival so here's a thought: " I always thought this player had talent except....that he was, well, lazy."

Yep Yngwie. And that's why you have to be nice to people on the way up because you may need them on the way down. AND, there's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip....so join the Scouts because they have a useful motto....."Be prepared"----- for the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Still, there's ALWAYS a consolation prize, no matter what the adversity--- whatever beats the sh.t out of you makes you stronger For more defeats! AARGH.
