IBM..? But you are an oldie aren't you? Remember when we did not even possess any kind of phone, like in the 1950's. Nor a T.V. Nor a bike. And a bus ride to the Academy cost me a penny . And I got in to the Caley Park at Telford Street for 6 pence. And a poke of fish and chips was about 6 pence to one shilling. Goodness, how I miss those days …………...?

Hearts field ineligible player against Cove
Scarlet Pimple replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
A professional football club cannot make a mistake like this and get away with it. Nor should they. It may be a diddy cup for them but for their (usually lower level) opponents it may be a crucial blow to their future success and inflow of money. And Hearts should have known better and made sure that they showed an example of the necessity of a higher ranked club to lead by example. At worst, pretty sloppy. Tar and feathering indicated.? -

Who would you like to see at ICT next season?
Scarlet Pimple replied to Alan Simpson's topic in Caley Thistle
Er, um Caleyboy You are never too old when your heart is in it.Scarlet does his 6 miles on the bike every two days to strengthen and assist with the healing of his badly injured left knee on the ski slopes many years ago. As you age these injuries can drag you down unless you ignore them and work them hard. Well that's my philosophy and it works for me since one fall can really get you down and almost out unless you fight it and force the blood to go to where it is needed. Willo may be slight but he has the great attitude that makes him a winner. Put him in the team and, heh presto, the Flood gates at the goal line may open wide. Yes! Smile. -

I've always liked Willo Flood. But Isn't he getting to the age of "being a wee bit past it"? Silky player with a good shot on him for such a slim man. If he is fully fit would be an asset to the team I think. Comments please?. -

Yep! and his heart seems to be in the right place as well, IHE. So why not? never know until you try. -
Scotty , All noted with interest and especially that adjustment for the" Unread" situation which I was unaware of. Putting this site together must have been a really taxing and time consuming process but at least you have the comfort of knowing you succeeded beyond your wildest..... It's possible that you may be interrupting your holiday and dealing with irritating people like members of the Pimple family must therefore be a real bore. I know , I have to live with them as well! Undoubtedly they have their faults but their hearts are probably in the right place so onward and upwards, Sigh? And thanks for the effort. Re the cookies removal I am not quite sure what you are actually referring to since I am well aware (and have been for some time now) that removal of cookies is not the best thing one can do and had already set CCleaner, the only cleaner I use on my computer, specifically not to eliminate cookies by blanking out the boxes for them alongside all the other stuff on offer for cleaning listed beside both Edge and IE11 respectively. Meaning that they should NOT be cleaned during the scan. So, hopefully that is not actually happening but, with computers, who knows?

Up to now I have invariably gone straight to the Unread Topic link to find the majority of the information I needed to quench my interest in the Forum. But sometimes there is nothing showing in that area for weeks on end making me wonder why, and/or whether or not, this part of the Forum had been terminated and eliminated. I once asked about this but never received an explanation. At that point I then started to try to find articles or references from clicking on the headings at the top of the first page I am directed to upon arrival on the site e.g. Home, Forums, Team, Features etc.. Usually that did not solve my problem. Then jumping over to the right hand columns to open any headings that looked likely to contain the information I needed to assuage, or take, my interest. The feeling I was left with was that this seemed to be an awful lot of work just to access current daily news of events, team scores, reports etc.,. taking into account that this site is a very busy one indeed with a great deal of very interesting information on offer... Which, in turn, made me wish, even long for, an Index where one could very quickly click on the desired topic, etc., and find whatever one was looking for immediately. At the same time It might also cut down on the extent of the material that currently shows on several areas/pages upon first access to the site as well. Otherwise, it's clear that a great deal of effort and dedication has been put into this site over many years and I would not miss my daily visit for the world. I look forward to it every day.So, much appreciated and thank you very much indeed to every one involved with the site directly. Scarlet.

The list shows a guy named Ridges at the top of the list. Should that not be Ridgers? Smile.

Who would you like to see at ICT next season?
Scarlet Pimple replied to Alan Simpson's topic in Caley Thistle
I don't think that anyone needs to walk on eggshells because the use of vulgar language or profanity to describe someone, who clearly cannot fight back, is hardly something to be admired or promoted. A straight clean comment is all that is needed to express your feelings IMHO. -
OCH! and OCH! again. Jock, good to see that you are not wholly satisfied with the rocking chair. What can you do with them thar younger fellas that make fun of our older, MORE EXPERIENCED, members eh? O.K back to the pipe and hiking boots then. Sniff.

Aye! and showing him encouragement to boot. Good thinking that man. You know, it's so funny, I have never seen Trafford in action but his name flashed in front of my eyes (before I had even come to reading the post above).as a possible captain. Experienced and willing to stand behind and help his players. Could be a good leader and motivator, yes? Thoughts please on this one?

Why would a relatively disinterested fan base want to help the Board at all? It does sound as if additional entertainment could be introduced, at least for the kids,, at half time to entertain the families in the area. Haven't got a clue myself, but what about a slide for the kids --they climb up a small flight of stairs and slide down. Where would they put it, or them? If it is sectional what about right in front of the stadium at half time together with a wee fence between it and the road for the safety of the kids from the traffic. Daft? Why? Has anyone EVER tried it? this Board MUST think of something, or somethings, original and show the Inverness public that they are really interested in the customers' experience(s). The product on display is currently insufficient to induce a full house so add to the fare on offer I say. If the great unwashed public don't want to come to see the football then it's either the prices are too high, or the overall entertainment value for them is not worth the effort. Their family is very important to the fans and attempting to provide something different and special for the weans seems to me to be a no- brainer. How about a wee race round the pitch for different ages for the kids with a decent prize at the end of it for the winner of each race. That will bring in the future fans with the possibility that the dads and mums will be impressed by the atmosphere and get quite a kick out of the whole affair. PLUS the winning kids might like to get involved with the team and turn into great future prospects. Why not?--- You just cannot pooh, pooh, anything until you try ! Jeez! The club has to do SOMETHING to stir the interest in the town and if they don't show, at the very least, some enthusiasm and gumption with ideas that they are willing to try out to entertain and attract the public then what do you all think yourself ? If the ideas can flow on here then present them to the Management of the club and offer to assist them in bringing it all together. ANYTHING, ladies and gentlemen is far better than doing NOTHING! Positive comments welcome.... .

Glover, wonderful photo. I suppose you have a fine camera? And not a bad eye either, eh? Smile. They all look very relaxed and pleased with things. As I said before, I feel this is going to be a dynamic season. Watch this space..... -
Moray Jaggie is on the ball with his above post. Why worry about what the opposition is doing. We have to concentrate on forging ahead. Other clubs have also not had their worries to seek as well. We are not alone when adversity strikes. But it's how we react to that situation that is crucial.. It's about attitude....keep a positive attitude and concentrate on succeeding. Upward and onward.

How do you think Trafford will fit in this season? Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't he sidelined for much of last season.? Yet I see that several of you on this site seem to favor him for a place, even a permanent one, in the team this time around?
-
JR must start with, and then keep, a strong defence. That will make very difficult for anyone to beat us. THEN we can forge ahead and win the title. I am not kidding - look at the way we surged ahead in the final stages of the season. Unbeatable almost! And I feel that our team for this season is stronger than that of last season, so …...

WHY?

Oh well, I think that Alan Simpson is just hoping for the best for this club right through the season. But, if they win promotion, that is by far the real goal of this coming season which, if successful, will be more than enough to prove the point that ICT are BACK IN THE GROOVE......?...eh?

There should ne no doubt that the club must surely have discussed Gary's future with him perhaps over the last few months on an an ongoing basis. The hiring of Gary by the English club seems to have come very quickly out of the blue so no doubt he had maybe also been able to make some "authorised" contacts himself, etc. This way all parties should be satisfied. It's clear that the Board needs to cut expenses and Gary obviously feels that his career is not yet over and that he can be a very useful addition to a lower league club --- a viewpoint with which I can wholly agree. So we should all cheer that a wonderful club servant has managed to find a workable and dignified solution to both the monetary and the emotional challenges that this inevitable parting of the ways must involve. What a servant of ICT he has been though and a big send-off party is perhaps merited at this time.? Best wishes on all fronts to you, Gary, and a very happy retirement whenever you decide on that final resolution.

White at Barrow did not seem to be a hustler who goes after the ball. But once he gets it he does have something different, including a few tricks. On the video, that lofted ball to score was a beauty. And if our defence is as solid as you all say then he, like the rest of the forwards, can relax a bit and run at the goal hard, thus dragging defence men back with him and opening up the rush. He's a big man and surely he will be hard to dispossess. Anyway, I have that rising feeling that with a solid defence we can concentrate on getting the goals and this season will, I predict, be more controlled and exciting from start to finish. Promotion is the goal and I think we are going to get lucky...... -

But we must remember, Caleboy, that if the Board don't agree with the Manager's assessment they might JUST decline to support him with sufficient money. However I think that , having kept Robbo on, they have little choice but to support him and it seems that's what happened through season 2017/2018 and will be repeated this term as well. But this starting season we are in a much better position to compete than that of a year ago and, frankly, I am really upbeat about our prospects. Could be dynamic. If they don't, he might be off at season's end leaving only a demoralised bunch of players and fans behind in his cloud of dust. If you treat him with negative girning most of the time it will demoralise him at first and then disappoint and anger him and that is what I'm afraid of because I don't see how we can get in a better manager than him at the end of the season if he quits. Meantime back at the ranch we will be off at the toot. Right?

Hope the newbie Board members like the lineup of the new players. These signings show forward thinking and creativity from the Board and the Manager. Hope the source of the money is solid....? . Looking good for this season which I think is going to be exciting.
