  1. Mind when Barry Wilson relegated Livi when he scored that free kick? Glorious.
  2. Simple. The players that could come in are not as good as the ones that they would be replacing.
  3. Thought it was a pretty poor game between two very poor teams. Dundee United had the better of the first half whilst we dominated the second. Another game where we have taken 45 minutes to really get going. Hughes needs to sort this out because we can't keep this level of performance up and hope to still be in games when the second half comes about. A number of players had an off day for us. Tansey was really poor and his passing was off. Devine looked pretty ropey in the first half but seemed to steady himself as the game went on, same with Tremarco. Up front there was very little to get excited about. Not much creativity and very slow to actually try and carve out an opening. We don't seem to be attacking with much, if any, pace at all and that killed a lot of our attacks yesterday with players turning back instead of trying to play a more incisive attacking ball or cross. Not surprised at all to see that Billy Mckay scored for United. Didn't look like we covered ourselves in glory trying to clear the ball before it eventually fell to Mckay who scrambled it in. Bit of a muted celebration from him but he was hardly going to do some kind of Adebayor and run up to the ICT fans and wind them up. We had a couple of nice attacking moves which never really amounted to anything. As mentioned already our more creative players like Tansey and Christie were very muted and our midfield was being over run by 'Sideshow Bob' (no idea what his name is but I thought he was decent). We finally got going in the second half and grabbed a deserved equaliser. Meekings arrived unmarked at the back post to batter in a header to bring Inverness level. After the goal Ryan Christie played a smashing ball through to Tremarco to run on to but his shot was poor and easily saved. That was probably our best chance to win it but it would have been pretty undeserved. Shout out to referee Kevin Clancy who turned in a shocking performance. Draper probably should have been sent off for committing about 86 fouls in the game and even pretty obvious bookings for the likes of Sideshow Bob when he hauled Christie down after he was beaten weren't punished by a yellow card. If we start as slowly as we did yesterday in our next (league) game against Aberdeen we will be slaughtered. EDIT: Thought it was a really good away crowd yesterday. Looked like a decent number of folk made the trip. Well done all!
  4. 12th man is clearly Andy Considine.
  5. Unbelievable Jeff. Just over 24 hours to go until KO and no one is talking about this game. Same team as last Friday for me. United seem to have a few players out including, as rumoured on P & B, one Billy Mckay. I think I am right in saying that they have recorded just four wins in 2015 which is absolutely rotten. No reason why we couldn't get something from this game. Fon Williams Raven Devine Meekings Tremarco Tansey Draper Christie Vincent Williams Storey
  6. Probably worth remembering that the linesman had clocked the punch even before Silva went down so the Hearts lad was always going to go. Yes his delayed reaction was a wee bit embarrassing but it mad no difference to the decision the officials eventually took.

    CJT Bus Poll

Might even be worth contacting some friendlier faces OTB to see how they run their buses, prices, stops etc. See if anything could be learnt from their approach.

  9. Rubbish first half. Second half seemed to be much more open and a bit more excitement. Quality bit if play from Christie to get by the Hearts defenders and a nice cross for Vincent who really couldn't miss. Draper should have put us 2 - 0 up but a combination of not being able to pass to an offside looking Storey and having no idea why he was so far forward in the first place led to the chance going begging. Definite red for the Hearts lad although Sho Silva did go down about five weeks after he was hit. Alexander knew he was likely to be sent off and tried to move him away from the incident but the linesman had clocked it. After that Hearts lost their shit and started hacking at pretty much any ICT player they could get near. Nice finish from Storey to seal the game. Probably should have passed to Sho Silva but he did well to find the net. Despite the win I didn't think we were that great. Defensively we looked pretty poor especially in the first half despite Meekings being back however we definitely improved in the second half. Storey looked decent without really offering too much until the end. However I was impressed with his energy, pace and presence up front. Something we haven't had at all to date. We struggled in midfield for a fair bit as well and seemed to find it hard to break Hearts down. Christie didn't really create much and I didn't feel like Williams and Vincent offered us much width (for obvious reasons) but very happy to get the three points. Good Hearts support up the road despite the KO time. Must have been something like 1,200 - 1,500 there.

  13. Totally agree with the last couple of comments about the sponsor. Yeah the logo looks a bit 'naff' but we can't just have it removed from the tops to make them look a bit better for some of the fans. Subway pay us to broadcast their logo as much as possible and that will extend to people wearing the shirts up and down the country at games and on the way to them. We're essentially walking sandwich boards for a sandwich shop in this case. I would however be keen to know if ST holders get a discount on the top? Given these aren't sold in the club shop were a discount would normally apply (I think) will the fact that the items are being sold off site affect the ST discount?

  15. Wilson signed at the end of the 99/00 season but I'm not sure if it was under freedom of contract or if a fee was involved. Xausa then left halfway through the following season for a small fee (~ £10 - £15k). I recall the swoop for the Raith trio was well. If I mind right Livi were pumped by Raith then signed Alex Burns, Steve Tosh and Marvin Andrews for about £100k and that allowed them to ease away from Ayr United (who also signed big name players at that stage including one John Hughes) to secure the title.
  16. Some pretty harsh criticism of Christie here. The subtext of his comments are that he's delighted to sign for Celtic. Given that he was giving those comments to the Celtic website it's not surprising that he is going to be overwhelmingly positive about the move. If he was to be asked by the Inverness Courier about the move I've no doubt he'd have plenty of good stuff to say about Inverness and ICT. He'll tailor his answers per his audience and the question asked.
  17. Wasn't Xausa heading towards the end of his contract so Livi nipped in with a small fee? (That they still couldn't afford in the long run.)
  18. Ryan Christie again suffering from that common problem that affects so many footballers - the struggle to give a convincing thumbs up when photographed.
  19. To be fair to the guy he hasn't signed for Celtic to stay with us any longer than he has to. He'll want to get into the Celtic first team and there's no reason why he can't.
  20. http://ictfc.com/news/team-news/1605-ryan-christie Nothing in there about the fee though I hope that, given we rejected two offers, we squeezed some more out of Celtic at the very least.
  21. It seems that both ourselves and Ro$$ County have swapped round in terms of our approaches to transfer dealings. Leaving aside the massive funding they get from 'Uncle Roy' *vomit* we used to mock them not too long ago with their apparent short sightedness to transfers handing out short term deals to players like the failed Dutch lads but look at how they're dealing with players and contracts these days. Now it seems the show is on the other foot and it doesn't fit well for me right now.
  22. Game takes place on Tuesday 22nd September. In a real shock to the system the BBC have picked Rangers v Saint Johnstone as their live TV game for the round.
  23. How do you 'urgently train' ?
  24. Four year deal for him as well. Fair play to the lad.
