Hark! A new episode of The Wyness Shuffle appears!

The club have announced the (recent) passing of former player Wayne Addicoat. https://ictfc.com/wayne-addicoat/ It seems he passed away last week according to a family member on social media. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

It liked like Gill palmed / fumbled the cross just in front of him and Gilmour battled with a Stenny player for the loose ball. As both slid in the ball ricocheted off Gilmour and into the net.

Spoiler alert - he blames everyone but himself for the horrendous job he did at ICT. He's a deluded fool.

The same Courier of course that were writing about him as some kind of savior when he appeared on the scene despite have multiple red flags that made anyone with half a brain wary of what he was trying to do.

With Bavidge now confirmed as being out for the rest of the season I am feeling very, very nervous about the final few games. I don't expect anything from Cove or Arbroath. If we get a draw in either of those games it'll be a great result. Arbroath will probably have the cigars out when we play them so perhaps we grab something unexpected there? Kelty looks like our best chance of winning any of the remaining games but I thought they looked good in the recent fixture against them so I'm not taking that as a certainty. Montrose and Stenny away will hopefully yield something but I wouldn't also be surprised if we ended up with two losses given our goal scoring profligacy. So I think we take somewhere between 3 and 7 points from our last five games. Anan also have Cove and Arbroath in their final fixtures but at home and could they each have the cigars out by then allowing them to sneak unexpected points? Hopefully not but the away fixture against our Administration Brothers Dumbarton looks pivotal. QotS are diabolical away from home so there's a good chance Annan get a win there but probably won't get much from Alloa. I think Annan will take at least 6 points from their remaining fixtures so I'm expecting a tumultuous final few weeks of the season.

As @CaleyD notes Paul Chalk has appeared on the podcast previously (at least 3 or 4 times now I think) and when he does write pieces that lift material from the podcast he does credit it which is appreciated. It isn't always the case however that a paper acknowledges the source. When we did the interview with John Robertson some 2 or 3 years ago now during which he opened up about struggles during COVID it got a fair bit of traction from the likes of the Scotsman / Edinburgh Evening News and Edinburgh Live (ugh) none of whom acknowledged the podcast as they scraped together an article as if it was their own. That was disappointing.

A couple of podcasts have dropped recently given all that's been going on so plenty of chat to catch up with!

Mckay, for most of his first spell with us, seemed to strike penalties to his left rather than down the middle but looking at the video below it seems he went pretty much everywhere when taking penalties.

Somewhat ironic that Morrison, Cameron et al are now concerned about handing over the club to a safe pair of hands when they tried to flog it to Ketan f'cking Makwana.

I thought it was a pretty average game but quite open at the same time so there was plenty of opportunities to get excited about even if most efforts didn't trouble the respective keepers. Kelty played some nice stuff in the first half, lots of quick one touch passes which had us chasing shadows. Their pressing was quite intense as well. A pal commented it was quite similar to how QotS played against us in the recent midweek defeat. McIntyre was roasting Stewart at LB for us so it was puzzling when Mulgrew moved him into the middle of the pitch for most of the second half. That said his final ball was poor so even when he did beat Stewart he tended to cross it straight to Musa. We definitely got lucky with the penalty shout. At the time I thought it was a foul so happy to get away with one there if the highlights show it was a spot kick. We were much better in the second 45. Looked like Kellacher really encouraged our full backs push right up, helped by McIntyre leaving the Kelty right side for the centre. The first 10 - 15 minutes was probably our best spell of the game even though we didn't score. Fortunately Bavidge did eventually pop up with a close range winner. Nice dink into the box from Mckay to setup Gilmour who played a nice ball across goal for Bavidge to tap in. I've been very impressed with him in the few games I've seen. Think I read 7 goals in 5 games which is outstanding form. Decent setup at Kelty. All the portacabins are a bit naff but the social club is pretty good and the food was surprisingly enjoyable as well. Would go back again.

Unlike the Courier to jump the gun but I guess they need those clicks.

Entirely possible that Aberdeen want Bavidge and Stewart playing first team games and would rather they get minutes than have a club contribute towards some of their wages but not actually play them (more thinking Bavidge here given how little he featured at Ayr).

Apparently we can sign players under a certain age despite still being in administration. There may be other caveats to that. Savage mentions it in the latest Wyness Shuffle podcast.

That's good to know. Would be disappointed if the P and J had gone down the Reach Group route of churnalism out the wazoo.

Look at all those supporters around the ground. Where have they all gone?* *Not that I get up for home games any more of course...

Obviously it's far, far too early to say but the start is definitely encouraging. The key thing is that he seems to be exactly what the club and the players need at the moment. Someone who wants to be here, is trying his hardest and, perhaps most importantly, has a positive approach to games.

I can see why folk point to Hughes and the United approach but I don't think that really affected us significantly although it did upset the applecart at the time. For me, persisting with Foran as manager after we were cuffed 3 - 1 or 0 by Hamilton at the end of January 2017 was a massive moment. We were awful that evening and Foran threw the players under the bus in his interview afterwards. He was clearly out of his depth and becoming detached at the bottom of the league (IIRC) and yet we stuck with him and it ended in our relegation to the Championship which we've never recovered from.
