Brewster got it spot on but I wish he would get the guys to pass more. It's like an untapped resource for us that I firmly believe could cut teams to ribbons. At one point we were lumping the ball back to Aberdeen who came at us again and the process repeated itself. However, on some occasions we took the ball down, passed it around the entire Aberdeen "midfield" twice over and broke forward effectively because of it. If we have the ball - the other team don't = they won't score. Let's see more of it Craig!

Jimmy Calderwood - What a fool. ICT got the breaks and in the first twenty minutes there was one team in it. Aye good one lad. ICT were by far the better team and until the 2nd half you created the square root of squat in the first half and couldn't pass a ball 10 yards The only time we really had to be worried was in the 2nd half when you hit the post and Munro made a wonderful sliding challenge to block out a pass that would have led to a certain goal. Better luck next time Tangoman :thumb04:

YAAAAAAAASSSS! Brilliant result and while some negatives (yes there are some) exist that's already the result of the season for me. Aberdeen were rubbish. Utter guff. In the first half we controlled the midfield and had some good chances to take the lead before a wonderful cross from Tokely found Barrowman lurking at the back post who knocked it home. I cannot begin to describe just how good the ball from Tokely was to set up the goal. Into the 2nd half and the defence looked somewhat unsteady at times and we resorted to long ball (that's the negatives) but later on we steadied ourselves and tried to take the ball down and pass it. Imrie had a glorious chance to seal it when a short kick by Langfield was latched onto by Imrie who blazed over. A goal was then disallowed for us as the ball was out of play when Barrowman headed back across goal but right at the end with Aberdeen pressing we broke and McBain was released into the box where he fired a wonderful finish beyond Jamie "Calamity" Langfield and sent us all into raptures. Munro was great, Cowie brilliant, Black confident and composed in midfield and Imrie a real thorn in the side of the Aberdeen side. Make no mistake we deserved it. A wonderful result - well done all the lads and we all really appreciated them coming over to applaud us. Bring on Hamilton! :thumb04: :018:

    Get back to shooting rats
  5. Legal action?
  6. And quicker as well. How much is it for the SC bus?

That certainly seems to be the sticking point according to the P & J today. Doesn't sound like we want to pay much for the guy. Agree with Don as well. We need to strengthen the squad. Defence and attack is a bit of a concern to say the least
  8. I have no idea
  9. Completely agree Alex. Pleat is a cretin and, for some unknown reason, seems unwilling to comment on the news story about Rangers also breaking these "rules". Another quality Chick exclusive then?
  10. Who would you like to get the first goal against Aberdeen tomorrow? Long term fans of Rory might want to see him net to shut up the doubters, Andy Barrowman to show he can make the step up, Mike Fraser because that would be funny... Personally I would love to see another screamer from Duncan who would then run past the Dick Donald stand arms aloft in celebration before curving his run round to the ICT fans in the South Stand Over to you :thumb04:

Definitely. I would be pretty disappointed if we went back in for Elliot. I'd rather have Rooney here than the Edinburgh Mincer.

*Reluctant to pay a large slice of his wages*
  13. Fantastic reasoning as ever from Chick. I can't mind what Dodds said but I think it was something equally daft. I wouldn't be worried by what they say. Out of the 4 Pat Nevin normally speaks the most sense.

I think the Niculae saga might have tied up a few folk at the club who would normally deal with this kind of stuff. Hopefully we can get something sorted out. Our forward line is looking pretty lightweight just now.
  15. I prefer Falkirks stance on this myself but it is quite humorous that Rangers and Celtics demands have resulted in increasing ticket prices for their fans

Throws his toys out the pram eh?
  17. Andy Dorman blows that theory out the water.
  18. I am sure we used to fill out the Away section when we first played Aberdeen in the SPL. Indeed I mind a baltic match before or just after Christmas ending in a 0 - 0 draw in front of a sold out Pittodrie.

In a completely meaningless pre season kick about. SOme people who were at that game joked that the players never even ran for the ball. They were just walking about the park! I think that's how we will line up come Saturday and I think Calderwood will know that as well...
  20. Who did you have watched? Must admit no names really jump out at me either but then again Brewster should have the connections and the club should have an effective scouting network. We really need this central defender. Our strikers may not score goals every week but just one might be enough provided we can tighten up the defence.
  21. Saying he "isn't interested in doing anything other than staying at Caley" isn't the same as saying he wants a contract extension. He was saying he is happy where he is. No more and no less. Now he simply wants to keep his options open. It's frustrating and annoying but we are a selling club/stepping stone club and ambitious players will always come and go. You'll just need to get used to it.
  22. After complaining all last season about fixture pile ups before big games Rangers played Liverpool in a friendly on Saturday before tonight. Wonder what they think of their hypocrisy now? Get it right up you Martin Bain
  23. Especially someone like McCurry who turned in an absolute shambles of a performance at Ibrox against Dundee United. You would get about 50% of your fare back.
  24. Is there a reason for posting that?
