  1. Did you hear what he said? Apparently a Gretna fan told one of the players on Saturday he was "f**king useless" to which the player simply responded "f**k off!" :015:
  2. *sigh* Note the time of my post when I said that i.e before highlights were on the BBC website. I have, of course, since changed my opinion once I had seen the highlights hence why I had *allegedly* in the post you have "quoted". *Click*
  3. :015: I think it played a large part in the loss of our discipline however it cannot really excuse it. I have never seen such an indisciplined ICT side in a long time. It was staggering to see.
  4. Why weren't these two part timers down in Perth supporting their team? :004:
  5. Morton?
  6. Each to their own but I thought she wasn't that braw at all.
  7. I admire staunch devotion to ones team but I cannot agree with you on this at all. Bayne had earlier escaped a booking with a late challenge on a Well defender, similar to his 2nd yellow. It was the challenge that he was finally booked for because of persistent fouling. He then launched into a needless late tackle well after the ball has gone and he deserved the 2nd yellow. No complaints. Tokely then is clearly shown to aim a punch at McGarry. He clearly makes contact and has to go. If we saw the opposition do that then we would be screaming for a red as well. Doesn't mater if it was meant as a knock out punch or not he deserved to go for aiming to strike another player. That is downright deplorable.
  8. From the highlights you can clearly see the 2nd Well goal is clearly offside.
  9. I couldn't care less who it was or wasn't doing the announcements but that one summed up our day yesterday.
  10. He had a sly punch on Nacho Novo last season or perhaps the season or two before which drew applause from posters on this forum for some reason. He also had an unsavoury incident against United at Pittodrie when he, already on a yellow, lunged into a needless challenge with a United player already on the floor and he was rightly sent off.
  11. It was better than watching the subs warming up. I enjoyed it.
  12. Do you not think then that if such an unjust goal hadn't been allowed then Tokely might not have been sent off for *allegedly* elbowing McGarry? Such a ridiculous goal contributed to ICT losing their discipline and had important repercussions for the rest of the game. Basically yes of course it mattered.
  13. Yes and no. Yes because he went in for a challenge he didn't need to make which resulted in his 2nd yellow. No because of the reasons Caely D gave. I have yet to see much evidence of this passing game Brewster thinks he has us playing.
  14. Will they have big bucks to spend? I am not so sure. Anyway, can you trust Irons with his keen eye for a bargain? Again, I'm not so sure. We will be safe this season. Next season will be interesting.
  15. This is how I saw it: Perhaps someone is the Main Stand, who will have had a much better view than me, can clear this up. It seemed to be a huge bone of contention for our players.
  16. "The next home game is on the 24th of November against Motherwell"
  17. Just came across this thread when browsing. Any more comments? Anyone changed their minds?
  18. This thread is really funny.
  19. In fairness he was completely right to say that. Cut and paste from P & B: -------------------- The referee was atrocious today. Absolutely awful. While he was not the reason ICT lost, we did a fantastic job of being utter shite to make it easy for Motherwell, some of the decisions from both himself and the linesmen were beyond belief. It was mainly the inconsistency that seemed to be the big talking point as anything ICT seemed to do was punished while Motherwell "got away" with everything. No problems with the sending off of Bayne. He should have been booked for an earlier challenge on a Well defender but somehow the Ref let it go only to book him a minute later for an aerial challenge. Now given that he had been blown up for a lot of fouls and was on a yellow you might have thought that subbing Bayne could have been on the agenda at half time. Nope. Into the 2nd half and he lunges for a ball he was never going to win and fouled the Well player. Second yellow = red and he was off. What was especially irritating was that the ball was on the half way line and there was no danger at that point. At the time I thought that Tokely was simply shoulder to shoulder with McGarry and that he clipped his heels and McGarry then dived clutching his face. However after hearing Brewsters comments and reading the BBC report I will need to have a look at the highlights tomorrow. Motherwell dominated the game which ended when Bayne was off. The only bad thing for Well fans is how they didn't score more goals. They had some guilt edged chances at the end that they really should have finished. First goal was easy as you like. Corner in from (my) right and a clever flick on to the unmarked Clarkson who rammed the ball into the net. The 2nd was highly dubious because, when the initial shot went in on goal, there was a Motherwell player on the line, in an offside position who prevented the ball from going in. The ball bounced back off the player and back to a Motherwell player who, with the same player still on the line in an apparent offside position, fired it into the net. This led to huge protests from the ICT players as the Well player on the line must have been interfering with play but the linesman ref gave it. The standside linesman then decided to get in on the act when Cowie (I think) was fouled and the referee gave it. However the linesman who was no more than 10 metres from the incident had given nothing. This led to a poor show of discipline from ICT players, but at the same time I can understand their grievance, who questioned why he hadn't given anything. Indeed this was a summary of the afternoon as the linesman NEVER indicated which way a throw in was going until the ref decided which way to award it. I've already mentioned the Tokely incident which took us down to 9 players which left us wondering when, not if, Motherwell would score their 3rd. Surprised it took so long but a simple ball through the "defence" found Smith who confidently slotted it beyond Fraser. Easy for Motherwell as it had been since Baynes sending off. They impressed me with their work off the ball. Always offering themselves for a pass and they seemed willing to get it down and knock it about. Contrast this to our "hoof n hope" approach which wasn't working from the word go and it's easy to see why they ran out such comfortable winners. They would have done so even if we had 11 players on the park. ICT were dreadful. The Ref was horrendous and Brewster is deluded if he thinks that we played some good stuff. He is also a fool if he thinks taking off Ian Black, one of the few players who seems able to play this mystical passing game Brewster thinks he has gotten ICT playing, will help our cause. The only good thing about today were the Motherwell Casuals on the train who provided some hilarious entertainment with one trying to secure a ?2k loan for the 2 hour journey between Inverness and Aberdeen, one passing out and being left on the train by his pals and one who asked a girl getting off at Elgin if "she wanted a piece o' the big man" --------------------

Thank God for Gretna. That is all.
  21. Apparently a few Motherwell casuals were thrown out today or something. I think I sat in the same area as them on the train on the way back. One of them said to a girl who was getting off at Elgin "Ho luv, fancy a piece o' the big man?" :015:
  22. In fairness to the ref he got the Bayne sending off spot on. He had a late challenge in the first half that surprisingly wasn't punished. He then had another one of these aerial duals which resulted in a card. Perhaps more for persistent fouling as opposed to the foul in that instance. To then lunge in as he did on the Well player into the 2nd half was insane. There was no danger at that moment, the ball was on the half way line! He left the Ref with no option. He had to go.
  23. Brewster spoke in the after match interview if trying to play a passing game in recent weeks. I have seen no evidence of it. More long ball than ever before. Quite why one of only a couple of ICT players who seem capable of playing this alleged passing game was subbed today unless injured is a bizarre move by the manager.
  24. There were none.
  25. Roy MacBain - Been performing well as a left back. Retain. Barry Wilson - Probably his last season anyway and seems to be more of a sub. Retain. Ian Black - When he has the head screwed on he is a quality player. Retain. Richie Hart - Contract expires at the end of the season? Can see him moving on. Alan Morgan - Could be a decent player but flatters to deceive on so many ocassions. Move on. Russel Duncan - Performed better this season. I'd like to see him stay. Don Cowie - Best player so far this season. Retain. John Rankin - Still a potent thrteat from midfield. Whatever is going on I wouldn't like to see him leave. Retain. Zander Sutherland - An exciting prospect for the future and still very young. Retain. Markus Paatelainen - I don't see anything in Markus that we don't already have in the other midfielders. Move on. Garry Wood - Isn't he a striker? Not seen enough to comment really but young and more of a future player than one we need right now. Retain. Iain Vigurs - Not seen enough to comment really but young and more of a future player than one we need right now. Retain. In a nutshell: Move Hart, Markus, Wilson (at the end of the season) and probably Morgan on. This would leave a midfield of Cowie, Black, Duncan, McBain, Rankin, Xander and Vigurs.
