Inverness CT -V- Alloa
Quite incredible that we didn't win that game today yet at the same time it would have been quite incredible had we actually won it because we were absolutely dreadful. Really well worked goal for Alloa after only a few minutes. Some neat build up play down the ICT right saw the ball worked into the feet of Buchanan and quick as a flash he dispatched a curling shot past a static Ridgers into the net. We were almost back in it when a Storey cross, the one good cross he put in all day, found MacGregor only a few yards out but his header was right at MacDonald and he pushed the youngsters effort away from danger. Most of the first half was ICT struggling to create anything of note whilst Alloa defended in numbers and presumably pissing themselves at how bad our attacking play was. Second half was basically an overload exercise as ICT went forward time and time again but with precious little to show until Tremarco latched onto a loose ball from his own corner which had only been partially cleared and he sent a glorious shot into the top corner of the net. Five minutes from the end it looked like we were heading for the top of the league when Tremarco crossed for White to bundle in a header from close range (similar to his goal v Partick) and that was surely going to be it. At least it was until McCart had another brain fart and dallied on the ball when defending and instead of sending it back to Ridgers or clearing it up the pitch he played it out for a throw in. The following long throw was flicked on and Trouten stole in at the back post with Curry asleep to grab a deserved share of the points for Alloa. Donaldson and McCart were really poor today. Despite not being put under much pressure their balls out of defence were absolutely rotten, Donaldson especially, and often set up chances for Alloa to break on us. Storey was poor again and had one decent cross from the flanks. He isn't a winger and struggled there at Partick so why we are persisting with him there is bizarre. MacGregor struggled to create much of note in the middle as Alloa packed the midfield and sat deep. There was zero creativity in the ICT side today to break them down and it would have been very harsh, though thoroughly pleasing, had we won that game. With Queens getting a superb result today and Morton possessing an excellent home record the next couple of games are going to be a lot more difficult than they might appear on paper.

EGM called on 3rd October
Presumably though the costs Shearer will be familiar with are pre Project Brave so there might well have been an increase in costs since he left the club? Apparently it was mentioned last night that 3 players have already told the club they will not be renewing their deals when they expire in the summer.

We talked about that goal on Saturday but from a YouTube can I couldn't find it when I was doing the thread. It's been posted by another ICT fan in there somewhere.

Was anything mentioned about how the club plan to actually try and get more supporters through the gates?

EGM called on 3rd October
I wasn't there but from the tit bits I've read / heard whilst we are okay(ish) financially (any talk of admin is, at this stage, well wide of the mark) but if we continue to ply our trade in the Championship these ongoing losses, were no action to be taken, would result in us having to look at areas to make cuts. The youth setup would likely be canned or heavily scaled back and / or cuts made to the first team playing budget. If we want to maintain our current setup then we need more money invested in the club and getting more fans through the doors as well (this doesn't seem to be happening any time soon). Basically the club had budgeted for two seasons in the Championship (at a push three) before they would need to look at cutting back on costs and that's where we are now. I'm no fan of Scott Gardiner but these financial issues have been well known for some time and well before he came in. Can't say I have too much faith in him being able to resolve matters however. For a club that's done so much right on the pitch in a short space of time it's staggering how abysmal we have been off the pitch over the years. We have never gotten it together and it seems like we never will.

ICT - Partick Thistle (H), Sat 28th Sept
I didn't think White was all that bad on Saturday. He still frustrates me by going down a but too easily for my liking and I feel he should do better with some of the aerial tussles he gets into. He's much better when he is attacking crosses than when he has been played with his back to goal. He finished McGregor's fine cross with a solid header and was unlucky not to get a second later on. If we perhaps got a few more crosses in for the guy to attack rather than lump it up in the general vicinity of the guy he might be a bit more successful.

ICT - Partick Thistle (H), Sat 28th Sept
If that had been Caldwell's Partick side I think after we had gotten the equaliser we would have gone on to win but they looked much more organised and resolute under McCall already. The intensity of the midfield press completely swallowed up Vincent and Welsh at times and we missed the creativity of Walsh in the wide areas with McGregor and Storey struggling to really create too much especially in the second half. Poor defending for the opener. We've seen already this season the huge gap that Rooney leaves in the RB area when he goes forward and Partick ruthlessly exploited that with a smart ball into that area by Bannigan and Zanatta latched on to it and with Donaldson not able to stop him he lashed a low drive past Ridgers into the bottom of the net. Question marks over Ridgers perhaps? Donaldson certainly seemed unhappy with him. Good equalising header from White after a fine cross by McGregor on the right side after he got past his marker. This is the kind of ball we should be trying to get to White more often. It's been said before he often struggles in some match ups against opposition defenders but yesterday he, at times, had the better of his marker and this was one occasion where he got some reward. Doran and McGregor both passed up great chances to grab a second for ICT. Doran sent a tame shot into the arms of Fox and McGregor blazed over from about 18 yards out. Disappointing to only be going in at half time all square after 45 minutes where we had started poorly but turned it around to really dominate the second part of the first half. That said, if you don't take your chances... Second half and ICT were slow out the blocks again and Partick capitalised. I don't really know what happened as there seemed to be no danger with McCart in possession then next thing Miller was bursting clear and bearing down on goal. A cool side footed effort easily beat Ridgers and Partick were ahead from seemingly nothing. McCart almost made up for this mistake when he headed over from a corner but he couldn't take advantage of Partick's slack defending. White then had an acrobatic volley fizz wide of goal as we again started to get back on top but were wasteful with our finishing. Sadly I had to leave early but when I got back to my car I heard that Partick had scored again to kill things off. Up until recently we had bee tight defensively and the back four had looked almost impenetrable so it's disappointing to see them being cut open and gifting goals like they did yesterday and whilst it seemed like we had a fair bit of the ball and perhaps the better chances, especially in the first half, it means nothing if we don't bury the opportunities when they come our way. On the plus side McGregor impressed again but I'm not sure wide right is the best position for him. Hopefully Walsh isn't out for too long though.

I would surmise that most of the people on the board don't really want to be there but they are just there until someone / another group who actually want to be in charge can come in.

Inverness CT -V- QOS
In control from basically the first few minutes of the game. Good cross from Walsh and nice lay off by White to tee up Welsh for the opener and a well taken second from Walsh lashing in a loose ball killed the game off as a contest after only 20 odd minutes. Really impressive from Welsh and Vincent each taking turns to push forward and support the attack with the other sitting to protect the defence. Not that it needs much protecting at the minute. That was or 4th clean sheet in the league in a row. The front three behind White were interesting to watch. At times they all seemed to move around and appear on different flanks or play through the centre. Storey and Walsh especially seemed to move between the right flank and central role at will. Queens seemed to struggle to pick them up and when Welsh or Vincent did drive forward they often found themselves in acres of space to move into. Excellent showings from the aforementioned Vincent, Doran, Walsh and Rooney but MotM for me was Welsh. Dictates play beautifully for us and seldom panics when under pressure. He's great at carrying the ball forward from the back and moving it from one side to the other when we're probing for a way through. Defensively he (and Vincent) worked well to snuff out Queens for most of the game before he went off. Little disappointed with Robbo not bringing on Harper or MacGregor for some game time towards the end and obviously the crowd was seriously disappointing as well. As has been said before Robbo has done well to build a really good side with minimal backing but with every passing week it seems our fans just continue to lose interest in the side.
