Inverness CT -V- Dunfermline
Not really sure what to think about that. It was an easy 2 - 0 win and I didn't feel overly threatened by Dunfermline however Ridgers did have to look alert to pull off a couple of fine saves to stop Nisbet scoring and it could have been very different. We probably played better against Partick Thistle last week, created more chances and got pumped. Yesterday we didn't look that good for large parts of the game and struggled to really get things going in the final third but we win. It's a funny old game.

Just about defrosted... Much better performance from us compared to recent horror shows against Arbroath and sub par showings in the Clyde and Dundee games. Alloa played some good stuff in the first half as well and were unlucky to find themselves two down at the break. Slice of good fortunate for the opener. The ball was lofted towards the Alloa goal and MacDonald burst forward coming to claim it but one of the Alloa defenders clearly thought he was still on his line and headed it over him and it trundled into the net. Second strike was a lovely goal. Rooney crossed for White and he knocked it back down to Doran who lashed the ball into the net from 10 yards out. Great finish right on half time to put us firmly in the driving seat. Keatings and Doran had other good opportunities in the first half to put us further ahead before the second goal game but Alloa also had some good chances as well. Couldn't see who it was (maybe Flannigan?) but Ridgers had to look sharp to hit a well struck effort over the bar. Second half saw Dick sent off when he lunged wildly into a challenge on Keatings. A deserved red card followed and with that the game petered out. Prior to this we had looked likely to add to our lead but once Alloa were down to 10 men the game fizzled out. White had perhaps the best chance when he headed over from a Doran corner. Good performances from the likes of Doran, Carson and Tremarco today. Alloa, as I say, were perhaps a bit unlucky. They played some really good football at times and created some reasonable (half) chances. Good to see us being the clinical side for a change.- Inverness CT -V- Dundee
Dundee were shite. Their only plan seemed to be a ball over the top to McDaid who was roasting Mckay for most of the game but he had no final ball to speak of so any time it looked like they might threaten he sent it out for a throw in. We were our own worst enemy with Ridgers getting in a right mess and coming out to claim a ball he was never getting and the ball nearly ended up in the net until Tremarco flew in to clear it away. Some finish by Doran from a stupidly tight angle for our goal. Probably our only real good bit of attacking play. Great effort from Carson to set up the goal as well. Hadn't seen him be so combative before and it's been a while since we've had someone with that kind of dig in the middle. Doran should have had a second but somehow dribbled into the keeper rather around him to seal the game. Not quite seeing the good performance that some fans have been commenting on. I guess we did well with a reshaped team playing a slightly different formation but I was disappointed at how much we sat back after going ahead. Dundee were no great shakes and we are definitely better when we go on the offensive. Tremarco was probably my MotM even without that diving headed clearance. Donaldson and McCart looked a bit more solid at the back as well and Carson, as mentioned above, showed a lot of dig in midfield and it was great to see him celebrating the way he was at the end. Clearly meant a lot to him.- Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup SF Draw
I also despise the Colt teams being in this competition. I hope we utterly pump them.- Preference.
He wants to talk to Falkirk he's not going back (yet). Of course recently he wanted to talk to Hibs and was completely ignored by them so it will be interesting to see what happens with Falkirk.- ICT v ??(Clyde)
Clyde seemed to have little interest in trying to win that game despite the fact we looked pretty ropy at the back any time they did attack. Appreciate they had a less than full strength team out today but if they had actually made a go of it and avoided the Hamilton - esque shithousery they could be heading into the next round and not us. Save for a 10 or 15 minute period in the first half our attacking play was quite poor. Mostly long balls up to White or asking Storey to try and get a cross in from the wing again and again with little success. Some good saves from Ridgers who was probably worked harder than the Clyde keeper in the second half when we didn't really create many clear cut chances to speak of. Good penalties from us in the shoot out and to strong saves by Ridgers won it for us. Slightly better than Arbroath but we still need a big improvement for the Dundee fixture next weekend.- Preference.
You don't rate Robbo's signings but then say that we've got the best squad outside of Dundee United!?- Preference.
He's contracted until 2021.- Preference.

It's extremely rare that I'll leave a game before full time irrespective of the score but when Arbroath got their deserved 3rd goal I had no hesitation in walking out of the ground. A truly disgusting performance from ICT. All the plaudits go to Arbroath who were excellent - every loose ball they were first to it, any time we had the ball they shut us down and any real chances that were created in the game were from the team in maroon. ICT got what they deserved - absolutely nothing. That performance wasn't even worth booing at the end.- Robbo

Last orders in the stadium bar have been 1430 for some time so, even though I think that is still stupidly early, it makes sense not to let people in after you've stopped taking orders for drinks (and food).- Queen of the South Team & Roll Call
If we're going to play Storey please get him up front rather than on the wing where he isn't that effective.- Arrogance?

Dreadful game. Absolutely mind numbingly awful attempts at football from us. Long thump forward seemed to be the order of the day which got us the square root of fuck all. Bizarre that we persisted with this for so long. Is Welsh the only midfielder we have capable of getting the ball down and playing a pass? Not sure what happened with the opener. Our defence all seemed to stop and claim offside instead of playing to the whistle and McHugh finished well. If he was offside then it's a bit crap but at the same time that's extremely naive of us to just stop and assume we'll get a decision. Well taken goal from Curry to bring us back into it. After that it was mostly us with the ball creating nothing of note before a Donaldson brain fart let McHugh in again and he finished well for the second time in the game. Whilst a draw was probably a fair result I'm finding it hard to feel too hard done by despite losing. Far too many players off the boil at the minute (McCart has looked a shadow of the player he had been after his public rinsing by Robertson after Partick) and our approach to the game was brutal. If I type any more I'll just get angry. Nowhere near good enough. Heads gone etc...- Morton Roll Call
