  8. I very much doubt flares would ever be allowed, they are inherently dangerous (in this context), and as for selling flares or smoke bombs, I think that's unlikely too. The only way you have a chance to get the smoke approved is likely via the route of having people trained in the correct usage of them and having them supplied by or managed by the relevant clubs. Even if it were allowed, I think this is likely to be seen as too much hassle by most clubs This is an excellent article about it: http://www.the42.ie/use-of-flares-and-smoke-in-stadiums-2417194-Oct2015/
  9. This is an interesting debate and reasonably relevant even here in Toronto .... For the first 7 or 8 years at TFC we had the odd flare and smoke bomb thrown onto the pitch or across the stands. The problem is NOT the pyro itself it is the UNCONTROLLED nature of the pyro. Because its not legal, even here, you had people bringing industrial grade smoke-bombs or road flares and these DO NOT burn safely, or in the case of the smoke, they are not safe to inhale .... 2 supporters groups ended up getting banned for these episodes. I had a flare go just over my head which was dripping hot residue onto people as it sailed by (and landed on a woman whose clothes got burned), and I was about 3 feet away from one of these smoke bombs that I could still taste in my mouth weeks later despite copious amounts of medicinal Glenfiddich. Last year the club (TFC) worked with the fans to bring CONTROLLED smoke to the games. The club supplies the smoke bombs (sometimes white, other times red) and the fans groups now have people trained in safe usage of them and with safety equipment nearby. The substances are nowhere near as noxious (although still unpleasant if the smoke comes straight at you) and flares are still banned. It was a happy medium. I fear this wont be allowed in Scotland though ....
  10. Could the commentator/reporter have sounded any less enthusiastic about that goal ?

  14. sorry folks - unexpectedly out of town today cannot create match thread. can someone please create one. thanks
  15. I really hope you forgot to add the tongue in cheek emoticon there !
  16. Stadium development (phase 2) well underway now .... last year they added a second tier to the east stand (the one in the Giovinco video above) and this year they are building a roof over 3 sides of the stadium. Drove past it before Xmas and it looked impressive, but this video has some more details that make you realise the amount of engineering that goes into this.
  17. cant load dropbox at work (access denied as we use onedrive). Does this offer apply to All parts of the stadium ? A couple of stray emails have found their way to my inbox from Partick fans asking this question.
  18. Spooky or what Charles .... Incidentally: When the air traffic control unit at Perth Airport (ICAO code: EGPT) in Scotland was closed following a downturn in commercial pilot training, for which the airport was best known, the final NOTAM (notice to airmen) issued by the unit via the AFTN stated, "This is Perth ATC signing off. So long and thanks for all the fish." Given the propensity for dolphins close to the Caledonian Stadium then I think Hawkeye may be onto something and Adams' message was even more specific to ICTFC. [now sitting back to count how many whooshes occur]

  21. The club has not been the most adept at hanging onto our own players during transfer windows, especially when it comes to those out of contract at the end of the season who we have lost for pennies in the window or for nothing come the end of the season. Time for us to use those negative experiences to our own advantage, to cough up a few quid for the remainder of Storey's contract, and to offer him a decent contract with us.
  22. Inverness Caledonian Thistle are offering to lighten the load on the wallet with the return of “Pay What You Can” when Partick Thistle come to town on Saturday 23rd January. See article on homepage here: http://caleythistleonline.com/index.html/ or click HOME in the menu above.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are offering to lighten the load on the wallet with the return of “Pay What You Can” when Partick Thistle come to town on Saturday 23rd January. The club first trialled the “Pay What You Can” ticket initiative just under a year ago with a mid-week match against St Johnstone and are now keen to see how fans respond when the offer runs on a Saturday afternoon. Chairman Kenny Cameron said “January is always a difficult time for our supporters with the costs of Christmas, so we’ve decided to ease the financial pain this month with this offer. The directors were pleased with the response to the “pay what you can” initiative last January and we’ve decided to repeat the experiment, this time on a Saturday instead of a midweek, which will hopefully make it even more attractive.” Mr Cameron continued “People whose budgets are tight and who maybe can’t afford to pay the full match price can take advantage of this opportunity to come along and pay what they can afford.” “January is, very understandably, the worst month of the year in terms of football attendances. We feel we’re being innovative in helping to address this and give more people the chance to witness Ladbrokes Premiership action at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.” “We’ll continue to be as ground-breaking as we can to generate maximum opportunity for existing and potential supporters.” NOTE: We have confirmed with the club that this offer DOES apply to all stands so includes both home and away supporters.

  25. NOTE: Updates for this game (Match Report, POY Poll etc) will not be online until later (unless one of the mods does it for me) as I will be away from the computer until later in the afternoon.
