I know. I have heard the same (lame) excuse in the past and for devilment at the time I have actually asked the person "why?" or ".. so where should we play?" or ".. so where would you go to watch them?" only to be met with silence or some stupid retort. The fact of the matter is that (most of) these same people would not go to watch us play even if it was at the end of their own street !!! Is the stadium ideal? no, absolutely not, and there may indeed be better locations that have opened up, or now have better infrastructure than they had 20+ years ago ... but it was the best choice at the time and save for someone coming in and paying silly money for the time left on the lease meaning we could relocate for free (if a suitable site was agreed) it is what it is.

I dont buy the location BS. If people want to go to watch ICT they will go wherever we play .... ask the 500 or so who were in Romania ... or the diaspora who live all over the UK and elsewhere who schedule their travels to try and ensure they take in a game when they can, or even those in Inverness who for whatever reason (eg. personal, work or family reasons) can only go occasionally but do go .... If people in Inverness who dont already go really want to watch ICT then the stadium location may not be perfect, but it is something they will overlook. Yes its baltic in winter due to its open-ness, and yes the infrastructure around it is far from ideal .... but please ... if its Baltic at the TCS, then its not going to be tropical elsewhere in Inverness !! and whilst you could perhaps make a case for better location in Bught or perhaps Holm Mills now that we in effect almost have a ring road round the town (or will do when the next bit is done), its like comparing apples and oranges because we didnt have it when the stadium was built and if we cant afford a few grand for an additional striker after our best ever season we certainly cant afford to up sticks and move to some fantasy stadium that will bring an anecdotal attendance nirvana to the club.

I dont normally find Barry negative ... I would say he is realistic. he is sounding like a frustrated fan.

be interesting to hear from folk at the game on the performance ... open all mics cant convey any atmosphere or even how we re playing ... only thing so far was Barry saying that the crowd were getting pissed off with the sideways passing .... Wedderburn being taken off and Mbuyi-Mutombo on .... changing to 442 apparently.

if there was ever a season where we lived up to the cliche that plenty of folk around our club like to use about "punching above our weight" then last season was it. A combination of factors saw us have our most successful season ever. Was it Hughes? Was it the remnants of Butcher's team? Was it the players? Was it Latapy? Who knows ... Yogi can only work with whats in front of him and the records will show he was in charge for this magnificent run. The same is going to apply to this season ... we have lost 2 key pieces of the team in terms of Watkins and Shinnie, which Yogi could do nothing about, and a couple of players who would have likely made the starting 11 most weeks in Ross and Ofere although lets be honest, Ofere was never going to be a long term signing ... it does not seem to be in his nature. I dont think Yogi could have done anything to keep those 4 (or indeed Mackay) so he can only work with what he has got. We definitely need a goalscorer and some competition at the back. If we get this then I would hope we could comfortably finish top six. Anything else will be a bonus.

Ref was from Kazakhstan, not sure if the others were from there too. Some pretty dodgy decisions, or inconsistent ones at least with many fouls by them being worse than the ones he booked our players for ... and a very good shout for a penalty when Ryan was sandwiched n the box by two defenders. Having said that, I agree, its our failure to find the net in 180 minutes of football against a pretty poor side that was our downfall, not the refereeing.

0-0 FT. Our European adventure is over. now we just have to concentrate on the domestic treble.

just hope we are not being suckered in and running ourselves into the ground in this heat only for Astra to go up a gear in the latter stages of the second half .... on this performance so far we should be ahead and are certainly the better team.

did you read the first post? just like they did last week when they covered our game live and had updates from the Aberdeen away game, they are doing the same ... covering Aberdeen at home in the live commentary with updates from ours.
