  1. sorry, no idea. However, going by past experience I would say not .....

  5. Met David Bagan in Glasgow Airport on the day I was emigrating ! I was waiting for my flight in departures when I noticed him and went to have a chat. We had talked a few times before so he recognised me. Turns out he had just been released (even though he was wearing an ICT polo/track top) and was headed for Lanzarote (or somewhere similar) for his holidays as I was headed for Toronto. We wished each other well and went on our ways ......
  6. Kenny got back to me and confirmed as much of the timeline as he could ...... it was fairly close to what I had already speculated. The club gave Errea the green light once they had dotted all the 'i's and crossed all the 't's with Orion on the sponsorship deal. As that was a few weeks ago now, they hope to have the first sample with the Orion logo on it anytime soon. Once it arrives it will be launched on a date that is still to be decided. Replica kit for sale to the public is a different matter. The order is already with the supplier and it is expected to be available in July as I theorised. The club are not confirming any exact dates, either for the launch or for replica kits right now and although they wont say it is because of the supplier, we all know that Errea have - in the past - given one date and then missed it by several weeks !!!

  8. took it from the Courier article and it suggests youth teams are playing both http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/fu...as_warm-up.html "With Caley Thistle re-establishing their under-19 side for next season there is also the need for their younger players to play games and they will get the opportunity on Wednesday 21st July with the Highland Capital club set to send a squad to Borough Briggs for a match against Elgin City, while another will face Strathspey Thistle." probably more likely that each squad will be a mixture of first teamers and reserves/youths.

It is not very clear ...... Tuffey celebrated his 23rd birthday in January of this year (during the 09/10 season) so if someone bought him during the transfer window or at the end of the season then it reads like there is definitely some compo due. However, the use of the word "at" makes it very murky ....... what is "at or before the end of the first season ...." ??? How long does "at" last? When does "at the end of 09/10 season" become "at the beginning of 10/11 season" and does that remove the obligation to pay compo? Also ... those rules are from the SPL handbook ..... does this match the SFL, SFA, UEFA and FIFA handbooks ??? If any of those still say 24 then the previous club could argue the case more easily ...... Great keeper and would be nice to see him at ICT but the easier route with less pitfalls and potential paperwork snafus is to redouble the efforts to retain our existing keeper who is also great !!!!

  11. Yip. sorry.. had it in my head that Tony Low got the last few seconds for some reason... long time ago and my memory is p!sh at the best of times. Tony came on in 72mins at Parkhead on 23rd October 2002 when Celtic beat us 4-2 in that seasons 3rd round of the League Cup. He also scored his only goal for ICT later that season against Arbroath at the TCS.
  12. July is my guess ... and I tried to be optimistic !!! I agree that we are low on Errea's priority list and that for me is the kicker .. that is why we end up paying them a bond every year - to hold in trust - before they will send us anything, that is why they never meet delivery dates, that is why we should boot them into touch !! The problem is whether anyone else would be interested? I know smaller teams have had shirts from bigger suppliers (eg. Adidas) but you have to wonder whether it is an actual sponsorship deal or whether that club is merely buying stock at a favourable rate? I have no idea. Now that we are back in the SPL and our board is getting an injection of some much needed dynamism perhaps we might see them play a little more hardball with this supplier. I would certainly like to see that.
  13. 100% agree with all of that. Havent seen the new DVD but from memory of the actual game and the original highlights DVD I thought that Charlie was immense that night. He may not have been as heroic as Jimmy was in goals, he may not be seen as often in iconic images from the game such as Sheerin's leap after the penalty, and he may not have any claim to say "my goal" like Bobby did, but he bossed the middle of the park that night and sprayed pass after pass after pass exactly where it needed to be. The performance may have grown in stature in my memory over the years but I recall thinking that his performance that night was one of the best performances by a player in an ICT shirt EVER, he simply did not put a foot wrong and made the mi??ionaires in the other team look distinctly average. Jimmy Calder would be my second choice simply because he did what JC did for ICT all the time and performed miracles between the sticks regardless of the opposition. Mark Brown or Ryan Esson may be better keepers than Jimmy in a technical sense, but then again they are professionals who can concentrate on their craft all day every day whereas Jimmy was a part-time player and full-time builder. I think every ICT fan who was around 10 years ago has fond memories of his exploits. [strikes me as I write this that over the years a 'fat builder' and part-time keeper also kept a former Scotland Keeper and a former Chelsea keeper on the bench for rather long periods !!! class] Third choice is a hard one ..... any one of the remaining players could take it but I gave it to Bobby. His "goal" and his never say die attitude as captain of the team shades it narrowly from Barry or Mike.
  14. I dont imagine the release will be too far away but will try to find out officially. I do know the design for the new home top has been agreed (away top remains the same) but it took until the other week to put a final approval stamp on it due to the shirt sponsor changing (how many of the other teams quoted changed sponsors?). The issue will now be Errea. I have never been a fan of this company and they are slow, slow, s...l...o...w when it comes to actually producing the goods. If it goes like previous years, Errea will take a while to produce a few samples that can be used in a press release and will then take a few more weeks to produce the players' kit, and a few weeks more to produce the kit for sale to customers ..... If I were guessing, I would say mid July before anyone gets their hands on one .... but will ask in the right places and report back !!!
  15. Not strictly away from football, but it was the Kingsmills Suite hospitality after a game ..... We were at our table when Bobby Mann comes over to speak to us. Big Stew (having had several refreshments) finally says to Bobby ..... "big man, i think you're a great player ......." to which Bobby started smiling ..... only for Stew to deliver the second sentence ..... "but today you were sh*** !!!!". Much chortling all round and Bobby wanders off shaking his head and not knowing what to say ...... he laughed about it later though (much later). or maybe Stevie Hislop cornering me in the Corriegarth at a supporters club do and telling me in no uncertain terms how much he hated this website ..... something about a duck was mentioned :D (thanks Mantis).
  16. Good luck to one of our Parkhead heroes http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ath/8709082.stm
  17. This is a thread about Richard Hastings not some blonde stunner ..... start a new thread if you want to discuss both of her merits rather than hijacking this one.
  18. only if ICT take Nick Garcia !!! (trust me, he makes LDZ look world class). anyhoo, back to Hastings. My answer would be NO, especially now that we have old stagers Golly and Roy signed up who can both cover that position and some promising youngsters who might grow into the role to replace them.
  19. and the scary part is that Toronto FC are also looking for a left back !!!! A few scallywags have even mentioned him on the message boards simply because Stalteri (another possible target) was somewhat worse last night !!!
  20. Bob Harris supposedly on the radar for both Dundee and St Johnstone but agree with Chibber that he might be a good acquisition. Pavels would also be welcome IMHO. The others I am happy to 'trust in Tel' ... whether he finds some gems down south or picks up a few from SPL/SFL1 ........ PS ... no thanks to the striker from the p!shy team .... he can join Barrowman at County as both have shown they can score in D2 !!!
  21. Two opposing viewpoints, but having known Kenny personally for a few years, I would have to say Don is correct as opposed to SMEE. As far as I am concerned, from the first time I ever met Kenny, a spade was always a spade and BS was something he never liked. Ken T is also correct - no airs and graces (and no hair for him) but the ability to converse at both boardroom level and 'normal punter' level without being arrogant or condescending. We have been asking for a few seasons now for a positive move that will bring the fans and the board closer together ... THIS IS IT, or at least the person who can achieve it.

think I have been mentioning this for years .... and in my post above (see reference to leisure village), and the zoned land goes further than Raigmore interchange, it actually goes from Allanfearn to the Kessock bridge and encompasses all the coastal land from those points round, with the southern/western boundaries being road/rail lines in the area (A9/A96 and Aberdeen rail line).

Toronto FC had a 'state of the art' artificial pitch since formation in 2007 until this season but it was ripped up in the close season and this year we are now playing on grass .... the reason they put it in in the first place ..... because they had to !!! The stadium was part funded by the City of Toronto and one of the conditions of the funding was that BMO Field had to be available for "community use" so many hours per week or days per year. It was felt that grass would not stand up to this punishment so they went with the very highest quality artificial 'field turf'. The reason it was taken out .... firstly the ball does not bounce true on it. Its an artificial surface and depending on how the ball lands on what is essentially a plastic surface it can go off in various directions ! secondly, several players at Toronto FC, and a few visiting ones (including David Beckham) maintained that it was harder on their joints than grass. We lost at least 4 players because of the artificial grass as it was making old knee injuries recur and even Beckham found a way to miss his first scheduled appearance in MLS which would have been in Toronto although he did make it to the All-Star game here later that year. Real Madrid also came here last season but would not agree to the friendly unless the artificial turf was overlaid with real grass for the game (which it was - at huge cost ... and then removed a few days later) TFC spent millions in the close season putting in a top quality pitch heating and drainage system and then real grass. They still have to provide community time but instead of using BMO are now going to fully fund the building of 2 pitches in other areas of the city for community use. Football is plastic enough these days ... without the pitches being the same !!!

Canal Pitches / Bught etc - wont happen. It is a logical choice given the area zoning for 'leisure' but infrastructure issues abound and thats before you ever get anywhere near answering questions that would be raised by other bodies/clubs/businesses who have some form of interest/ownership/lease on some part of the land in the area such as Rugby Club, Harriers, Shinty, Amateur/Welfare Football, Hockey etc. A96 corridor - Stratton Farm was mentioned before TCS and seemed ideal (to some). Unfortunately, for others it was in the middle of nowhere, especially with the superb level of local public transport !!!!! Personally I do not like the location as it is about as far away as you can get from the 'traditional' home of Caley or Thistle ! Torvean Quarry - I will be honest and say I quite liked this idea when it was first mooted. A natural amphitheatre to build a cauldron like stadium but again, as much as the A96 corridor is miles away for folks on the western side of the city, the same applies to this location for those on the eastern side. Transport issues as well. Carse. I believe this was the option favoured by most before the TCS was chosen but it was knocked on the head because of gas storage tanks in the area ? If B&Q / MFI etc are still unoccupied (which they were not at the time) then this could be an option although I would imagine the council might poo-poo it due to traffic congestion issues. Nowadays, my preferred option would be to stay where we are and develop what we have. The TCS lies at the heart of what is slowly going to become a 'leisure village' (according to the local plan) and as such when the area starts to develop, could attract money that would allow us to redevelop the 'temporary' stands into permanent ones with a better design, to do something with the west side ... possibly making that whole side hospitality boxes that wouldnt require us to do anything with the high pressure gas line running along the side of the A9, and eventually to reformat and perhaps re-roof the main stand ........ As for land ownership .... not wishing to drag things back up again but it is not beyond the realms of possibility that ICT can - somewhere along the line - regain ownership of the stadium and given the local authority's propensity for selling off land for a song then it is also not 'pie in the sky' to think the land could also be purchased.
