Its Scotland’s oldest club against one of the youngest, as Caley Thistle kick off the new season with a League Cup clash against the amateurs of Queen’s Park. Terry Butcher’s side are the only SPL team involved in this stage of the competition, and will look to avoid a repeat of the opening match of last year’s campaign, a mediocre shoot-out win over third division Montrose. OUR OPPONENTS The Spiders travel North having produced a surprise of their own last week, an extra-time Challenge Cup win over Livingston. Striker Graeme Eagleshan was the hero with a debut hat-trick, and will definitely lead the line for the visitors, who will probably be unchanged. The Hampden side, who made it to the third division playoffs last year, remain under the tutelage of manager Gardner Speirs, who will be best remembered in the Highlands for a brief spell in charge of Ross County during the 2005-06 season. PREVIOUS MEETINGS The sides have met on fourteen previous occasions (according to soccerbase.com), twelve of which came in the ICT’s first three seasons as a league club. Caley are up 8-3 on wins, with three draws. However, the last time these sides met in September 2003 saw Queen’s Park overcome a two division gap to win 2-1 at Caledonian Stadium…in the first round of the League Cup. Barry Wilson made his first appearance after returning from Livingston, and Caley took the lead through Paul Ritchie’s strike, only for goals by Steven Reilly and Ally Graham to turn the match on it’s head. Bobby Mann had a golden chance to force extra time but hit the post with a last-gasp penalty. Out of our current squad, Ross Tokely, David Proctor, Stuart Golabek, Russell Duncan and Roy McBain were all involved. INVERNESS TEAM NEWS Knee injuries force out Richie Foran and Jonny Hayes, so Adam Rooney will be the only member of the “shamrock” strike force to play. Eric Odhiambo is also struggling with a groin problem, so Nick Ross and Danni Sanchez will fancy their chances of playing, and there could be a debut for Gil Blumanshtein. Another new signing, Kenny Gillet, may be short of match fitness, while David Proctor is suspended and it is uncertain if Hibs will give permission for on-loan Kevin McCann to play. If McCann is absent, expect Ross Tokely to start at right-back, with Chris Innes making his first start in the centre of defence. Likely lineup: Ryan Esson – Ross Tokely, Grant Munro, Chris Innes, Stuart Golabek – Lee Cox, Russell Duncan – Nick Ross, Danni Sanchez, Gil Blumenshtein – Adam Rooney; subs: Jonny Tuffey, Kenny Gillet, Roy McBain, Gavin Morrison, Shane Sutherland QUEEN’S PARK TEAM NEWS The visitors will surely stick with the same eleven that won last week, especially with defender Paul McGinn and midfielder Giuseppe Capuano both out. Striker Jamie Longworth may be available to play on the bench, but fellow forward Michael Daly is doubtful. think the "accusers" in a case can have their real address withheld if they wish and have it stated as the police force - something to do with the potential for witness intimidation / reprisals or something like that.

Honest answer - I have no clue !!! I have never used the service and as its not hosted on our servers I cant say whether the slowness was on the part of the operator at Fleetwood or the service itself. The trial run on Saturday will give us some answers..

OK folks ... you talked, I listened !!!! <br /><br /> On Saturday we will trial a few different things for doing the matchday updates ..... <br /><br /> 1. Our normal matchday thread ... same as last year but maybe a little enhanced <br /><br /> 2. Our Twitter feed ... again, the same as last year with updates as frequently as we can get them <br /><br /> 3. Our chatroom. The current chatroom is the basic version that comes with this version of the software. It is limited to 5 users at a time. If this takes off and we need to upgrade it we will purchase a bigger chatroom license so we can have more users but we found last year it was empty most of the time. <br /><br /><br /><br /> and the biggie that we are going to try ....... LIVE COMMENTARY as mentioned by a few folk on the Fleetwood Town thread. This is something we will likely try to turn over to the club for future games but at short notice i figured we could trial it here initially and see how things go. Be gentle with us, I have no idea yet what media arrangements are in place for the weekend or whether anyone will be able to access this feed for updates from the stadium so you may just get updates from Toronto via Radio Scotland open all mics (if its on). I believe we can also add twitter comments so if you are planning to tweet from the stadium let me know your twitter name and I can add that name to the feed ... I am sure the guy that did them last year said then that he wouldnt be doing them any more ...... which is a shame as we also used those graphics for our matchday boxes, reports, and to create some other graphics ...... there is normally a kit downloadable on one of the FM resource sites but havent come across it yet

Excellent application - like it.... I agree Tichy B....maybe CTO online can introduce this in the future for our matchday threads! had never heard of that application before and only seeing it now after the event without the benefit of seeing it "live" but it looks like a decent wee app. Will investigate either for this site or as a recommendation to the offiial site to go hand in hand with the video service.

Apart from all the other problems with Errea (delivery etc), the sizing has ALWAYS been an issue ..... and an issue that will always stop me from ordering online from this distance unfortunately. Home Tops and Away tops that are marked as the same size if you go by the label actually turning out to be as much as 1 or 2 sizes different between them in real life ...... Having to buy a 4 or 5XL sized top in Errea sizes just to get something that is XL or XXL in anyone elses .... I think my last ICT top was 4XL and my current (Adidas) TFC top is XL

Dean McDonald was also prolific in pre-season before one of our SPL campaigns ! Friendlies - and who starts them - means nothing. I probably wouldnt expect to see Terry's strongest team on the park until the games against Valladolid and Antwerp as these will be sterner tests ... right now its all about fitness and shaking out the cobwebs.

Its not just stadium rules its SPL and/or higher up rules that prohibit "match pictures" from being taken by anyone other than accredited photographers. The copyright issues are draconian. Its a crock really as I have taken well over 5000 snaps for tfcpics.com in the 3 and a bit seasons TFC have been around
