not deleted no, we have 'hidden' a few based on an ongoing moderator discussion. Yours was one of them but the content of your post is not a problem. We will be happy to give you an expanded explanation if you wish it. just drop me a PM and I will do that.
  2. Canada beaten 1-0 by Honduras on a (very) dodgy penalty decision in the QF tonight so they are out. RH - who did not play in this game - will be heading home on the next plane one would assume.
  3. TV wise, its live on sportsnet over here. not sure if they will have a feed on their website or not but it would be sportsnet.ca if they do. failing that the console is here http://www.goldcup.org/page/GoldCup/LiveConsole or go to the supporters website to see if anyone has posted anything at http://www.canadian-soccer.com/forum/ or to the generic one at bigsoccer.com and scroll down to either the gold cup or canada forums and see if anyone has posted details of "alternative" places you can get the stream from. Hastings played the full 90 in the last match against Costa Rica, a 2-2 draw. I didnt manage to see that game (and wont see tonights one either) so cant say how he was. sorry.

OK, I stand corrected, he DID finish bottom, but like ICT he inherited someone else's mess so it was not all of his own doing !!!! However he does seem to be using a similar gameplan to the one he had at Motherwell and hopefully he will be just as succesful as he was there !

he did not finish bottom of the league with Motherwell and if you read the words in my post you should figure out that this is what I was referring to !

So trialist wise .... we have the following Greg Kelly (GK) - still on trial - cant find any comments made about him to guage whether he might be offered something or not. Narius Bulvitus (D) - still on trial. Again, no comments seem to have been made about this player so its hard to say. Daniel Stratford (M) - still on trial. I would guess, based on the comments of Butcher in the P&J that he might offer Stratford a deal. He sees him as a utility player who can play at RB or in midfield. [source - P&J] Danny Sanchez (M) - still on trial. I would guess that he might be offered something based on his couple of goals already and the fact that Butcher also sees him as a utility player who can play in a variety of positions. He specifically noted that Sanchez can play wide right and compared him to Morais [source - P&J] Robert Eagle (LW) - sent home to consider a contract offer Chris De Wagt - trial terminated: Butcher quoted as saying "even though he was a good player, just wasn't better than what we had already." [source - Courier] Melvin Holwijn - trial terminated: Butcher quoted as saying "Melvin wasn't at a fitness level that we required." [source - Courier] More trialists coming in but not before Saturday - no names or positions noted.

I am feeling positive about the coming season. Forget about the pain of relegation for a moment and just cast your minds back to Butcher/Malpas in charge at Motherwell. They went there at probably the worst time in that club's recent history (administration, player redundancies etc) and proceeded to rebuild a squad on a shoestring from signings of decent calibre youngsters slotting in with the established pros ........ all our recent trialists seem to be quite young, early 20s at most, and with the ICT youngsters coming into the squad as well as what looks like a promising signing in Lee cox, who is also a youngster, it seems Butcher is attempting a similar rebuilding job ....... lets hope it has similar results ;)

  12. tops off for danny sanchez it sounds like he is not a greedy man.... great report.. see my other post, i cant get that song out of my head now...Dreem it think it was... ...... keep up :D
  13. according to the stuff I was looking up yesterday about his stint at DC United, he seems to be regarded as a central attacking midfielder with promise. He was selected in the second round of the supplemental draft last year, played 5 games for DC United (who are a decent side) and was only released to make room within the MLS salary cap and roster space for a new GK that DC wanted to sign.
  14. Was signed as a "developmental player" and freed to make room in the roster for another signing http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread....light=stratford

The other thing that no-one has mentioned yet, and that frequently gets bandied about when a new kit is released is that there is no way this can be mistaken for a Rangers kit !!!
  16. Livingston WILL go into administration later this week according to the Scotsman. That would presumably see them start the season with a 10 point deduction if they survive with Rankine, Mcdougall or any other potential buyer. http://sport.scotsman.com/football/Council...-bid.5456020.jp
  17. Signing for St Johnstone on a 1 or 2 year deal apparently. The info did come from P&B which is not always reliable but this bit of news seems to be genuine with just the length of contract up for debate. Reading between the lines, it would appear he was the "mystery man" referred to in this article http://www.eatsleepsport.com/st-johnstone/...man-921273.html

I hate round necked shirts, I must have been hung in a former life or something .... bring back V neck shirts thats what I say ..... other than that, I like it. its different and I certainly prefer it to the new County ones.

closing this thread as it was to design the new kit and that is now done. Caleymad has started a separate thread about the new kit here: http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...showtopic=13823

Its a trilogy ....... with all parts being directed by ICT's own version of Quentin Tarantino .... IHE ! Part 1: "Against All Odds" Part 2: "Going Ballistic" Part 3: "Phoenix Rising" Part 1: is about the formation of ICT and all the trials and tribulations of their first few years in the Senior leagues. It goes further than the original screenplay supplied by oscar winning screenwriter Charles Bannerman and the climax of the film is the triumphant scenes as ICT win their first championship (Div 3) Part 2: is a typical middle film of a trilogy. It starts with the elation of the promotion to Div2, has its ups and downs throughout the rest of the film, most notably the success at Parkhead in 2000 and promotion to the SPL in 2004 and also chronicles the 5 years of SPL membership. Unfortunately, it ends on an unhappy note when ICT are relegated but sets things up nicely for the final film ..... Part 3: starts with ICT in the first division, losing a few stalwarts, and some fans along the way. However, under Terry Butcher's management, this film shows ICT as the juggernaut turns around again and rampages to a conclusion where ICT beat dundee on the last day of the season to regain membership of the elite club called the SPL. working on the cast ..... to follow EDIT - Cast We havent cast too many yet but so far ...... Officials Jock McDonald - Sean Connery - the white haired avuncular version like in Red October Dougie McGillivary - Al Pacino - because he and De Niro make good adversaries David Sutherland - Robert De Niro - as above Alan Savage - Tommy Lee Jones - a no nonsense guy who gets things done Managers Sergei Baltacha - not cast yet Steve Paterson - Mel Gibson - a jovial character who used to like a drink John Robertson - Jim Carrey - funny guy Craig Brewster - David Hasselhoff - most likely to fail in this all star cast Charlie Christie - Matt Damon - quietly effective and loyal Terry Butcher - Jack Nicholson - scary when needed Players Bobby Mann - Bruce Willis - not sure why Ian Stewart - Joe Pesci / Danny Devito - its a height thing Dennis Wyness - Tom Hanks - just a nice guy !! Ian Black - Vinnie Jones - menacing Ross Tokely - Chuck Norris - no-one else could play him, Ross wouldnt allow it Other IHE - Christophe Lambert - obvious really CaleyD - Steven Seagal - because
  24. I think the former captain of Rangers and England, a man with unquestionable leadership qualities on the park, is probably far better placed than us to know if Granty can do it or not. As the decision has been made, lets hope that under Butcher's tutelage he will finally convince the skeptics that there is a good reason why three different managers have shown faith in him as captain.
