Options If Of Move To England
I would reverse the question back on you and ask how their continued presence actually benefits football in Scotland? They already take the lion's share of the sponsor payments, they are guaranteed to win the SPL every year, they can veto virtually any idea the SPL might come up with, they monopolise the TV schedule for matches, and they effectively occupy two of our European places every year anyway so even if we lost two spots we wouldnt reduce the number of other teams in Europe ........ without them we would have a more competitive league that more teams could win, we would probably have some sensibility in wages, we might have a smaller TV deal but every team would get a more equal share than at present so money might not be that different, and although we might skip down the European rankings the same number of non OF teams might get to compete ! No disrespect to any of the teams mentioned but the English FA would laugh any and all of them out of any meeting

Michael Barnes?
Went from Man Utd to Chesterfield and Shrewsbury on loan during 2008, then to Northwich Victoria and Southport before ending up at Halifax Town. Scored for Halifax Town in the Unibond at the weekend in front of a crowd of 969 http://www.halifaxafc.co.uk/page/HalifaxMa...1631913,00.html

Options If Of Move To England
You know what ... if they want to go and the English FA / Premiership are prepared to take them then so be it. Yes, we would lose out on TV revenue, Yes, our league would probably drop down the UEFA co-efficient rankings, and Yes, clubs would lose out on (a minimum of) three opportunities a year to fill their stadium with OF supporters. However, on the up-side, for the first time in decades, there would be a chance for other sides to realistically have title ambitions, there would be a chance that the league could become as entertaining as some of the other divisions we have been in as it would be more of a level playing field, there would be a chance that even with reduced TV revenue clubs would not be that much out of pocket as the top two teams wouldnt take the lion's share every year. Over time, the SPL and other divisions may actually become stronger if this were to happen.

Where/who We Play After Split
I would settle for that !!!! That (or something similar) should be pinned up on the dressing room wall. If we go out and play for our SPL future we can do it. If we get all lackadaisacal and wait for our safety to come to us we could blow it (and would deserve the consequences !!).

Where/who We Play After Split
change result 3 to 1-1 and I would be delighted with that as a run-in result ! personally, my predictions would be as follows (bearing in mind that this season was the only one I have ever chosen ICT to lose in the NPL) V St Mirren - DRAW (1-1) V Hamilton - WIN (2-1) V Motherwell - DRAW (1-1) V Killie - DRAW (2-2) V Falkirk - WIN (1-0)

Where/who We Play After Split
not bad - just got the venue of the final game wrong .... now if only I could predict the outcomes, I could rest easy. Its going to be a nervy 6 weeks.

Where/who We Play After Split

Where/who We Play After Split
Saturday, 02 May: St Mirren v Inverness CT, 15:00 Sunday, 10 May: Inverness CT v Hamilton, 14:00 Wednesday, 13 May: Motherwell v Inverness CT, 19:45 Saturday, 16 May: Kilmarnock v Inverness CT, 15:00 Saturday, May 23: Inverness CT v Falkirk, 12.30 Personally, I am liking this run-in. At home to the teams closest to us in the table and away to the other three. Get something from the first game at the Midden and we could be in the driver's seat. We need to come out of the gates quickly against Hamilton at home so they dont get a chance to do the timewasting crap again and are forced to actually play. Motherwell and Kilmarnock games will be hard (despite our record against Killie) but both are winnable - especially if Well are already guaranteed 6th spot by then and take their foot off the gas. and then a final day game against Falkirk whose fate may (hopefully) already be sealed.

Player Of The Year Poll
Its quite simple really ........ As it states in the header of each POY poll quite clearly ...... As you posted on the matchday thread about 16 times during the Aberdeen match last week and then voted in the POY Poll you obviously ignored the message about cheating the polls so as per the rules of the POY Polls your votes have been discarded and you have been excluded from voting in any further polls. WHY are we strict about this ? The CTO POY award is the only external/independent Player Of the Year award that is included in the official club stats in terms of who has won what come all the end of season stuff and we are not prepared to let anyone meddle with the integrity of it by abusing the system.

Who is Gavin Morrison ???

Boardroom Banter
its a matter of really bad timing I am afraid ... as simple as that I was late in sending in the questions (10th March), then Kenny (who I send the questions to) was away on holiday for a couple of weeks. When Kenny got back, the club official he deals with was away for a while and now I think both (or at least Kenny) are away for a few days for a stag do !!!! I am told there is no problem, just crappy timing this/last month.

Is Barrowman our worst ever signing?
its very subjective but I would have to go with Gary Farquhar as the worst. Touted as a top player to help us move up the divisions, his alleged personal issues saw him out of the team quicker than you could blink ..... Bradshaw was another who screwed it up for himself .... looked like a good centre half in his few outings but if the stories are right he didnt like training full time so decided to jack it in .... bizarre. As for Niculae - I dont agree that the problems stemmed from his signing. His signing (and departure) may have brought some simmering problems to the surface, or highlighted our ineptitude in terms of the world game, but most of those problems were already there ... or arrived 3 games into the season !!! Whether he was worth the money he cost us (and may still cost us) is another debate but any behind the scenes problems at ICT are not and were not his fault. Barrowman - It was a mistake to pin all our hopes on him and to go after him so hard that he got an (alleged) sweet deal ... but he still has a couple of years to show us the faith shown in him by Brewster was merited.

Where/who We Play After Split
next match is scheduled for 2nd May (5 fixtures are: 2nd, 9th, 13th, 16th, 23rd) .... just the opponents to be worked out !!!

[merged] Main Stand To Be Renamed
Eddie Thomson and Phil O'Donnell both got stands named after them Norrie McCarthie Stand Dundee Utd are running out of names .... they have the Eddie Thompson stand, the Jerry Kerr stand and the George Fox stand. The only un-named part (now that the fair play stand is officially part of the main stand - i think) is the West Stand and you would have to imagine that this might be reserved for Jim McLean's name at some point in the future !!!
-
[merged] Main Stand To Be Renamed
Disagree somewhat CD .... The stadium can be named for sponsorship, you could even name certain sections of the stands for commercial reasons but I always think the actual stand as a whole, as printed on the tickets etc should be named in honour of something or someone rather than sold to the highest bidder. There will always be arguments about who you name them after or who is more worthy than someone else, or whether you rename a stand a few years down the line ... and as we both said, there are usually only a maximum of 4 unless you have upper tiers and all that stuff so you have to be careful. To my mind, people will always remember former managers or players as their stats will be there forever so they should not be named after them ... but there are those who have an equally big impact on the club in various ways who could easily be forgotten as the decades pass and it would be fitting to consider them for this honour. The choice of Jock McDonald's name on the main stand will meet with almost universal approval I believe, and as we are a young club, there are others in our short history who might be equally worthy of consideration - Norman Miller and David Sutherland (at some point in the distant future) are the obvious ones who spring to mind ... but who knows what person may arrive at the club in the future and have a similar impact as any of these three. I would still like to see Norman Miller recognised in a similar fashion but maybe that is sentiment ..... For now I will be happy that the club have made a very positive decision on the main stand, one that has met with widespread approval, and one that their PR bicycle has effectively distributed to the mainstream media on this occasion.

[merged] Main Stand To Be Renamed
So the main stand in now the Jock McDonald stand, the family enclosure within the North Stand (not the whole stand) is called the Kevin Bissett Family Enclosure. I would personally like to see the complete North Stand named for Norman Miller and maybe reserve the naming of the South Stand and any future west stand (unlikely I know) for other prominent people who have had a huge impact on ICT history (eg. DFS in some far distant time in the future). We only have 3 stands and a maximum of 4 so we have to be careful not to let sentiment get in the way but without JM and NM we might not have got as far as we have so far.

[merged] Main Stand To Be Renamed
Cant see them needing planning permission to name the stand .... more likely to be because of a big sign that will go up with the name of the stand on it

[merged] Main Stand To Be Renamed
Glad to see they took my suggestion on board http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...st&p=175478 In all seriousness though, I think this is very fitting.

Boardroom Banter
I was late in submitting last month's questions, but not that late (10th March). I did email Kenny on Saturday to chase it up and await a reply. There has been nothing to indicate the withdrawal of the articles but the ball is in the club's court so to speak
