Reserve Game Footage
interesting. However, what is also worrying is that the component they use for registration for the service has well know (SQL injection) security vulnerabilites that as of yesterday have not been fixed even though they were first reported in June 2008 ! If I was advising ICT, I would certainly suggest they ask Falkirk how they can provide such a service for that price, but steer well clear of that particular subscription component !

Reserve Game Footage
OK, this is a subject where I have done a fair bit of research ..... There are a few issues with various aspects of online broadcasting whether it is audio or whether it is video but the biggest stumbling block for the club would likely be bandwidth costs. I have made a few suggestions to Kenny and hopefully he will pass these along. Copyright The club have non exclusive rights to use video footage from the likes of Setanta, BBC etc for display on their site, they also have the right to broadcast live audio worldwide using their own or BBC commentaries, and live video feeds outside of the UK. Technology The technology required would depend on what the service offered would be. At its most basic level, the club could provide the video highlights of all games after the fact. This would be a very basic setup and just requiring of them to make clips available to registered members either for free or for a small subscription fee. It would probably be similar to accessing something like YouTube but paying for the privilege ! The next step up from there would be to provide the same clips and add on a live audio feed. the technical aspect of this would not be that complicated if they used the BBC feeds as they would just stream it from their website instead of the BBC. Again this would need to be member based as the feed can be geo-blocked depending on who the opposition is if not streamed from either club's site. The whole hog would be a package with the option of live video, live audio and archived highlights. This would basically be ICT TV and would require a fair bit of thought as well as hardware/software, personnel and not least probably some significant hosting and bandwidth expenses. Existing Agreements PTV - the suppliers of the club website - offer a platform for providing this kind of service. You may have seen it on other PTV sites. I dont know what their rates are like, but over the last few years when asking the question about online coverage, the answer has always come back to cost so I assume it has been looked at and deemed too expensive for the potential returns. I also do not know what is in the club agreement with PTV ... could they actually start providing coverage using their own proprietary platform without breaching any contract agreement ? Did they consider this issue when agreeing the contract ? Was it even an issue at the time ? My suggestion to the club was basically to start small. I am in the middle of revamping a site I have been playing around with since Toronto FC came into being and it contains photos and video from TFC games. Its nothing special, but users can login and look at all the pictures or view the videos in a YouTube style - nothing too fancy or complicated. It would be a very short leap to form some sort of joint venture - a fans/club partnership if you will (like Hibs Interactive) and create a site similar to this for ICT as a test and see how it worked. If it fitted the bill, then it could be scaled up to include audio feeds and even live streaming video. However, once again, the biggest issue is bandwidth costs. We have unlimited bandwidth on here but sacrifice a bit of speed to get that. If we wanted unlimited bandwidth coupled with lightning fast speed we would have to pay an appropriate charge to get it (and we cant afford that ) The club will get there in the end, I am sure of it, but its baby steps right now ..... and it needs to be something that will potentially pay for itself either through subscriptions or a combination of subscriptions and sponsorship.

Reserve Game Footage
Dont need to broadcast it, just make footage available.

Ref's?
I would be in favour of the 4th (or even a 5th) official having access to live footage which they could rewind to review controversial or dubious incidents. They could then communicate that to the official on the park via headsets or something like that. As it would be used only where the game is already stopped, and only then when the incident is controversial or dubious or maybe where the resultant action may be a red card, it would not really impact the flow of the game. I would not be in favour of any system that led to sustained or extra stoppages though.

Stadium Naming Rights
I don't say this very often, but I believe Birdog is right Personally, I believe the stadium should be subject to naming rights but the stands themselves should be named in honour of people associated with the success of the club such as Jock MacDonald, Norman Miller etc.

Stadium Naming Rights
I don't have a problem with the Tulloch name being on the stadium as without his or his company's intervention at various points in our history we would be toast ! I do however tend to agree that naming rights should be for a timed period and if he wants it to remain as the TCS that it should form part of an ongoing sponsorship deal. Its kind of strange or interesting to see how DFS has turned from a saviour into this "Big Bad Wolf" character to many fans over the last year or two .... Maybe I am naive, too trusting, or overly optimistic, but I have always thought that his decisions relating to ICT have - for the most part - been quite symbiotic and benefitted both parties rather than one or the other. There is no question in my mind that he is extremely astute but I just cannot make that leap to the opinion that he is working against ICT for some reason. I think he has made some errors of judgement in the last year - {allegedly} not being able to work with AS for one, calling out DJS and the supporters trust for another, and persevering with Brewster when everyone else could see it was not working just to cap it all off but the good he has done for the club (a lot of which has been unseen and unpublicised over the years) still trumps the bad as far as I am concerned. Tulloch have certainly gained things over the years for their cash infusions. They pretty much have a controlling interest in the club, they have - one way or another - what amounts to ownership of the stadium lease, they have had a lot of good publicity based on the stadium name, and not least the kudos and potential business boost that comes from the remarkable achievement of building the two stands in such a short time. the club have gained too ... Without DFS, our main creditor - the bank - may have foreclosed on us years ago (he was the main reason they let the debt continue for a while), he put a policy of fiscal responsibility in place that tied in with the "road to premier league" football and achieved both, he pumped money in when we needed it, and he mobilised his company's resources to bring SPL football to Inverness by early 2005. In short - it was a win/win for everyone at the time and my only fear back then was knowledge of what the local plan held for the Longman Bay area and how ICT would fit into this. If and when the land surrounding the stadium rockets in value because the "leisure village" that has been touted in the local plans for a few years comes to fruition, Tulloch will certainly be poised to make a killing, but that could also benefit the club hugely too. The area would open up to business, to tourism, to activity of all sorts on a daily rather than fortnightly basis and the stadium would be at the hub of that. If the club develop the stadium area sensibly by building services and amenities that can be used not only by fans on matchdays, but by the leisure village customers on other days, we could be poised to share in the wealth that any development might bring. I would far rather Tulloch were in there helping to shape any new development as they have a history with ICT ... could you see any other builder doing that when one of their main competitors has had a long history with the club ? I don't think so. Ultimately, I still believe the ICT/Tulloch/DFS relationship to be good for the club but as I only have the interests of one of those three at heart, then I will continue to watch with interest. I will support the other two when I believe they are working with the club and voice my concerns if and when I believe they are not.

Djebi-zadi
At the end of the day, LDZ may not be the most skillful LB in the SPL, or even at ICT, but he has now appeared 10 times (+ once as a sub) and is 10 times better under Butcher than he ever was under Brewster .... I agree he can be a nightmare waiting to happen, but so can any of our players on any given day so he is not alone on that score. One thing I will say about him though is that regardless of whether his performance is good/gash he seems to be giving 100% to the cause and I have always said I will applaud any player who gives 100% so Most of us thought he would be lucky to make it to 3 or 4 appearances let alone 10 and he has been an ever present fixture under Butcher who has now posted 4 wins, 2 draws and only 2 losses in his first 8 games in charge, compared to Brewster's last 8 games which saw us lose 7 and win only 1 (V Partick). Under Butcher we have scored 9 goals and conceded only 3 ... in Brewster's last 8 we scored 6 and shipped 16 so I leave you to draw your own conclusions !!!

Sponsorships
Dennis is a gent, and while I have no wish to see his team do well, I have no desire to see him do badly ... if that makes sense ? I think a few ICT fans are still Denzil fans judging by his Facebook entry.

Irvine Moves To The Us
Its not. The MLS is a 'closed shop' just like the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB etc and elevation to the league is by invitation only .... and the payment of the appropriate Franchise Fee !!! You could argue that this year's new "expansion" team - the Seattle Sounders - is a USL team that were awarded a place in MLS but thats not strictly true. The USL Sounders are classed as defunct and resigned from USL. The MLS Sounders are a new team that retained many of the same staff and players as the USL side as well as the same owner (who is part-owner of the new side). At the end of the day, promotion to the MLS is nothing to do with results, its all to do with money and a desire to get teams into currently untapped markets. The USL and MLS teams have big sponsors - Sounders managed to get a 5 year $20million deal with Microsoft and X-Box for example !

Where/who We Play After Split
so basically, what we are all saying, based on the formulas trotted out by the SPL, our knowledge of previous years, and a little digging into the fixtures of all the other clubs is that the whole thing is as clear as mud

Wedding Dilemma
reminds me of my emigration dilemma in 2003 !!!! I hadn't considered the cup final when choosing dates for my departure so I had it planned for the week after the last league game ..... Of course we reached the semi-final of the cup and I was quite adamant with the missus that if we reached the cup final, I would be at Hampden ..... as luck would have it we went out in the replay so my plans remained unaltered but I would have had quite a lot of explaining to do otherwise ..... I did however book the wedding for September so no football woes then.

Where/who We Play After Split
These are the "golden rules" for post-split fixtures Each Club should play 3 home matches and 2 away matches or vice versa Where possible each Club should play a total of 19 home fixtures and 19 away fixtures during the Season Where possible and subject to seeding each Club should play the other 5 Clubs in its section such as to ensure that 2 home matches and 2 away matches have been played against these other 5 Clubs No Club should finish the Season with 2 home matches or 2 away matches Based on this, I predict we will finish with 2 home games and 3 away and we will play the last game of the season away from home. One of our home games will be Falkirk. Of the other games, I doubt we will play Killie or St Mirren at home during the split as we got them at home last year so that leaves Hamilton or Hibs/Motherwell. It will mean we will have had 3H and only 1A against one of these teams this year, but this has happened in the past and is taken into account the following season if needed. This is based on another golden rule of fixturing the first 33 games of the season (pre-split) which states "In any two seasons Club A should play Club B at home on 3 occasions and away on 3 occasions.". This means we will have a minimum of 2 pre-split away games V Rangers, Hibs, Motherwell, Hamilton, Kilmarnock and St Mirren (assuming we stay up and one of the others isnt relegated).

Butcher Trying To Tempt Black?
that is certainly one thing you can say about Blackie. He is committed. He is committed to ICT until the end of the season and committed to Hearts beyond that. we will not change his mind no matter how hard we try. Shame TB wasnt in place earlier ... perhaps it wouldnt have got as far as a pre-contract !!!

Best Players Ever To Play Against Ict?
Spot feckin on - There is no comparison to that three. I think that was probably the best combined team we have ever played and it was (almost) a joy to watch the skill of Laudrup.... having said that, it was Gazza who scored twice and Jimmy Calder still got sponsors' MOM. Rangers Team: Goram, Moore, Robertson, Petric (Cleland 46), McLaren, Brown, Van Vossen (Durrant 80), Gascoigne, McCoist, Miller, Laudrup Sub - Mikhailitchenko Caley Thistle team: Calder, MacArthur, Hastings, Bennett (Mitchell 82), Noble, Thomson (Ross 76), Teasdale, Scott, Stewart, Christie, Hercher (McGinlay 76)

Accomodation For Aberdeen Game 11th Apri
silly me - didnt look at the fixture list ..... having said that, Fairfield Villa is a good one to keep on the radar for home games ... reasonable price, close to town and a landlady who is not OTT in terms of rules.

Accomodation For Aberdeen Game 11th Apri
what ... Fairfield Road ??? nahh, just walk the 2 minutes or so to the Caley Club and have a few beers then take their bus !

Accomodation For Aberdeen Game 11th Apri
Thoroughly recommend this place and its only a 5 minute walk into town. Moira (owner) doesnt do overly wordy emails when you are booking, but her rooms are clean and tidy and she does a mean breakfast note: cash only. http://www.fairfield-villa.com/
