  1. as the equipment was not owned by the club they would not be guaranteed that they could get the use of it when they needed it. This way it is theirs and they can use it as they wish. The Trust Board are elected by the members and as such are given authority to spend money in a way they see fit within the power laid down in the Trust constitution ie 'to work for the footballing and financial success of the Club'. The Trust can only spend money that it raises. The Trust is not a Charity.
  2. i think its a bit unrealistic to expect every penny spent to be done so with consultation of all members. the Trust Board are elected by the members and as such are given their authority to act in a fitting manner and that includes spending money raised. As for the ballboys/girls there has been movement on supplying kit for them. Given the timescales for getting decent kit, time of year and the number of games left this season it may be the start of next season before they get something but it is coming. until recently the club did not have this piece of equipment but had to borrow it. The Trust saw this as a way of helping out the Club and at least it allowed them to use the money they would have had to use on this towards the playing side of things (albeit it's not a fortune). the Well Trust bought their club treatment tables for the physios to use and other trusts have done similar things. £7000 of the money raised was given to the Youth and Community side of the club and they will use this to help develope community initiatives. A donation was given to Inverness Boxing Club to help with their running costs which in ways benefits the community. The board of the Trust are always open to suggestions from the members as to either what to do with money raised or ideas of how to raise this money and it doesn't need to be at an AGM that the ideas are put forward so feel free.
  3. just doing as asked by a supporter... messenger..
  4. this was sent to the Supporters Club.... to the tune of the Wild Rover... Follow, we’ll follow (sung to The Wild Rover) We’re loyal supporters and have been for years We’ve spent all our money on bus fare and beers We’ve travelled to places that we’ve never seen Just to be close to our favourite team. Chorus And we’ll follow, we’ll follow To the end of the earth Caledonian Thistle We’ll follow till death. So come on the Celtic and come on the ‘Gers Or the Hibees and Tarts cos’ we’re no friends of theirs. We’ve killed a few giants and we’ll kill a few more We’ll fight for the day that we hear Hamden roar Chorus It won’t be long now till we’re packing our bags & headin’ for Europe to follow the Jags Some folk think we’re dreamin’, we’re nuts through and through But Charlie’s our darlin’, he’ll make it come true Chorus c PK :025:
  5. this thread is seriously running the risk of going back to Johndo's original question folks.... another thread started for songs........ again!
  6. Building a new stand for the singers? Interesting idea and one that I have already mentioned to certain folk at the club. We have been in the forefront of so much in the past 10 years - admission to the 'big' leagues, ground sharing in the SPL, reduced ground capacity - why should we not then be at the forefront of bringing safe standing back to Scottish clubs... Whether they take this on board or not...
  7. killing it dead before it even starts RiG?? :004: I would hope that folk wouldn't be 'forced' to do anything...
  8. did it not always.. :001:
  9. 1. Yes 2. Maybe maybe not - you can guarantee that some will not be happy. There may need to be some kind of an incentive from the club for those to move who don't want to be part of it. 3. Has to be North - remember the days behind the goals? Might cost too much to be in the Main stand for both those who want to sing and for the club.. 4. Not sure about this one. Need to encourage more to join it so free sounds good but also need to be aware of H&S cr@p.. 5. Loads of clubs do - be it a wee brass band or a bunch of drums up the back... it would be up to us to decide how to do it
  10. Thanks Boss! :001: As for being born a cynic - I'm hardly 'influential' and imo I said what I said (and probably a bit more... :004:). How the paper puts things together is a different matter... The Singing Section... I'll see what you've got in your other post before i put an answer here about where it's at
  11. RiG - i suspect that it would be difficult for Charlie to hear what is said from the North Stand and know that what he is hearing is coming from a small section in the Main Stand who are critical of the players and Charlie at every opportunity. As for the singing section there are some logistics to iron out here but at the end of the day it will be very much reliant on the supporters taking it up..
  12. especially if the ones they built at Chelsea a few years ago are anything to go by!! :010:
  13. Sangobeg you have a pm.....
  14. I guess the folk that Charlie is talking about are the ones who criticise him and the players week in and week out - not necessarily on the message boards but certainly at the stadium. There are one or 2 groups of supporters in the main stand who are very vocal in their criticism of the team and it seems no matter how well they play cannot bring themselves to utter one word of praise. Having said that apart from small flashes of brilliance there wasn't much to cheer about on Saturday until the last minute...
