If there was to be an SPL 1 & 2 both with 10 teams all with equal voting rights, then I can see a couple of seasons with the two leagues being a bearable sacrifice if it was followed by a vote by the provincial teams (assuming 19 votes wasn't the requirement) to merge the two into a league of 20.

What happened to Garry O'Conner apart from making a shitload of money and getting a move to the EPL despite failing to score or even run very much? If i was advising Rooney i'd be telling him to take the Russian money while he can. If I was advising him, I'd be telling him to concentrate on his football and see what's on offer in May. Tall of pre-contracts and transfers are distracting him from his job. The money will still be there for him come the end of the season.

Did the SFL agree when the SPL was formed initially? They are also assuming that another 8 teams want to join the SPL set-up and that second division and third division will be happy with two teams relegated without any promotion.

In the interests of fairness fair play to Neil Lennon to win the game yesterday. Must say I didn't see a Celtic win at Ibrox yesterday and certainly didn't see Samaras scoring two goals! I didn't see it either, was it on Sky?

The Jags were formed in 1885 and Caley in 1886 so missed that opportunity :biggrin: Wasn't really thinking that anyone would care to be honest, given that they were the lesser of the merged sides.

It would be good if the club did a retro light blue strip to mark the occasion, they could do a red/black strip for Thistles too. Partick did this a couple of seasons ago for their centenary and it raised much needed cash for them.

I understand it's almost a done deal and it looks like he is Manchester bound. Rangers are seriously cash strapped and will be forced to let him go. See here. If I was Walter, Esson's the man I'd want to replace him. Whatever happens there is bound to be a goalkeeper re-shuffle in Scotland. Can Caley afford to keep two top class keepers on their books? We can afford to keep them both but we can't afford to reject decent offers for either of them. I'd be sad to see him go but it's the nature of the game that we lose our better players to better bigger richer other teams

That's a fair conclusion. I am still delighted with the teams performances so far this season. TB/MM have the window coming up to see what they can add to the squad and their track record with signings is pretty good with about a 50% success rate in revealing promising talent. This season is about consolidating in the SPL, let's enjoy our successes.

Prices for the Kevin Bisset enclosure are somewhat less than away fans pay, maybe it's a similar pricing structure or was that all home tickets at ?14/?17?
