To be fair, he barely plays against the Celts and in Europe. You can say that's because he's not good enough, or, that he should be playing. I'm for the latter. Is Ally McCoist any good? One European goal to his name. Boyd's also scored when he's been given the chance in the international arena. If scoring goals is so easy, how come Miller, Lafferty, Darcheville, Cousin etc etc aren't doing it? Rangers need to beat the smaller teams and I don't see a strikeforce of Miller & Lafferty doing that. What I find strange is buying all those players after they crashed out of Europe and only now finding out they've not got the money. Did they bank everything on winning the SPL?

I'd imagine we're just taking over their contracts. No transfer or signing on fee. Maybe even with Hibs paying some of their wages. Gets them off the Hibs wage role and means we've got some new faces with no commitment, just in case...

I was one of Elliot's biggest critics but seems as though he's done well at Livi. Definitely need more experience up front but if Barrowman goes then I'd be in favour of the move.

McAllister may have been on that money but now he's on nothing. I see no reason why he wouldn't accept a large drop in his previous salary. He's had two management jobs and done little spectacular (well, spectacularly good) in both. I suspect he knows he's got to drop down, rather than wait for a high-flying job. That said, I don't think he's done anything to inspire me.

I'd keep Black (unless we get offered a good deal) as he's crucial but, like most others it seems, Cowie could have done with a bit more of a challenge from Wilson or Sutherland. If he was staying, I'd allow him to play himself back in but I sincerely doubt he'll be here for long. Investing his transfer fee would be more beneficial.

He could be a bit of a bomb scare at time but I thought he was a good player. Certainly could have saved Celtic a few millions on Loovens. Bougherra's my player of the season so far. I would have thought Rangers could have held on for a bit more for him. But whoever gets Chris Burke will get the bargain of the season. A bit of fitness and you're talking a 2-3 million pound player for 10x less the price.

I'd hope by experience we'd have someone who's going to last more than a season, i.e. a 25-30 year old (or thereabouts).

I agree with Kirishima. Tokely and Hastings get a real bashing on here but I think they're SPL quality (not getting any younger though). Duncan's a trier but shouldn't really be 'first name on the list'. Proctor should be tried in that position.

Absolute madness from Rangers. Letting a goal machine go to get someone in who runs around a bit more. Darcheville did that but was awful. Cousin had all the touches but still didn't score anything like Boyd does. If what Kris does is so easy, why doesn't anyone else do it?
