  1. Shame but there will be other times.
  2. I would have thought that someone local like Jimmy Johnstone or Bill Machray - vastly experienced ex referees who have gone on to become referee supervisors and who actually assess the kind of people the SPL seem to insist must carry out inspections - might have been perfectly capable of deciding whether a pitch is playable or not. On the other hand Bill or Jimmy could have got to the TCS long before the match referee whose late arrival presumably maximised the chances of the game going ahead. I would have been a very interested fly on the wall as regards the conversation the ref presumably had with the SPL on his way up the road. And the number of times he bounced that ball on the pitch before apparently at last accepting that it wasn't suddenly doing anything other than rebounding feebly once before stopping dead was amazing. You saw a couple of attempts on STV but they totalled well into double figures. QUESTION - does this therefore mean that no SPL game at the TCS is going to be able to be postponed before the arrival of the match referee? If so, where does that leave travelling fans? Anyway... maybe time to put this incident on to the back burner and hope instead that the pitch has dried up by Saturday. The rain/ snow is forecast to stop by tomorrow and the last BBC forecast I saw was for sunshine on Saturday. Fingers crossed. Charles will you be asking the question to the SPL on our behalf?
  3. My link Nice to see United not blaming ICT
  4. Have just updated the story on the main site with details, but basically, the club asked for an early inspection but the SPL said it couldn be done as we have no grade 1 officials in Inverness. http://caleythistleonline.com/3486-tonights-match-postponed Dont see whats wrong with getting whoever the top qualified ref in Inverness is to have a look !!! Thanks Scotty for that. As usual the SPL seem oblivious to the needs of fans. As usual rules are rules as far as the SPL is concerned. Out of interest anyone know where the nearest grade 1 official to Inverness is based?
  5. Well just back from a 40 mile round trip for nothing. Had to leave at 5pm despite no result of the pitch inspection aso my son has to be at TCS by 6pm to sell programmes. I know if its not playable its not playable but an earlier decision would have saved a lot of hassle to a lot of folk. We dont all live in Sneck and theres the away lot to consider as well.
  6. sitting here with my coat on ready to leave for sneck - wish theyd hurry up.

  10. Most of the hibs fand posting on the sportscene fb page dont seem too happy to lose him actually.
  11. However Scotty do you not think Rio has a point?
  12. Was I think. ? Iain Murray as current captain.
  13. Much prefer on here as its more civilised. P and B constantly turns into a slanging match verging on bullying sometimes and its a pity because some of the topics are good and its good to hear from fans who dont support ICT. Occasionally post there but not very often.
  14. Mainly those who have been banned from CTO! Yeh thats what I meant Johnboy.
  15. think some of them have an axe to grind towards cto as well.
  16. According to the bbc clicky thing above the spl window closes at 11pm whilst the sfl one is open till midnight and nobody seems to know why.
  17. I have to say that I am really happy with BT. Our rural exchange cant cope with great speed but with Bt the speed is adequate. Have had to contact customer service as well and service good. Had orange before and it was terrible service and speed wise.
  18. The suspense is excruciating. If hes gonna go I wish he'd just go......but would rather he stayed.
  19. Was also in the paper yesterday Courier I think.
  20. I do have a user name on p and b but rarely post. Read most days tho.
  21. anyone know if it is common for a manager to receive a cut when a player is transfered from his club? Never heard of this before but then nothing surprises anymore!
  22. Agreed but think Buckie should have a team bonding event before the next game. :hahaha:
  23. Don't you remember Blackman getting booked for the tackle that could have crippled Jonny Hayes? . . Yep now you mention it I do but I didnt realise it was blackman at the time as I was more concerned re the health of Jonny Hayes. Thought at the time it might have been really bad as you heard the tackle and Langfield reacted immediately by going towards Jonny as if he thought it could be really bad too. Thanks Johnboy.
