  1. the other muppet/guest was John Colquhoun used to play for Hearts and is now a football agent... I used to work with his daughter and btw out of 2 I'd give her 1 :016: He did talk a rake of pish though... I think they try to have rubbish guests so they don't make Walker look like anymore of a to55er, bring back Bill Leckie he seemed to be the only guest last year that spoke any sense!!

  3. Right we seem to be going round in circles about who is to blame for Saturdays performance. I think it would be a good idea to look forward to this weekend and how things will hopefully improve. I would go for: ----------------Broonie---------------- Tokely----Dods---Munro--Hastings Wilson---Black---Duncan---Rankin ----------Dargo----Wyness---------- I thought our midfield and attack were decent in the first match while obviously there were flaws at the back. "If it ain't broke don't fix it" and considering we had the 4th best defense in the SPL last season that should have been obvious to CC from the start. If Tokely is still out of form then Caff instead. I can understand the people preferring Morgan as the natural winger but I think everyone forgets that he is still a young player and always learning while Rankin seems to have a bit more composure. Also I think CC would be severely scrutinized if he replaced him out wide after he crafted our only goal last Saturday. I expect a vast improvement in our defense against the dons, I think that Dods and Munro will be looking to show everyone that their defensive laps was a one off. Last season when we had the shock defeat to Partick and CC inspired the team to beat United 4-2... that's the sort of response we need this week.

don't get me wrong if Golly had 3 or 4 games he might get back his sharpness, and if he was in midfield of upfront then he could be given that time but in defense we can't have any passangers. If anything it should be CC that this thread about because he was the man that picked the team. IMO the question isn't why was Golly picked ut why was Hastings dropped

  6. 5hit happens eh! It was bad today but it certainly isn't the end of the world, as said previously there is a lot of pluses to come out of todays game. Personal performances: Brown: Kicking was a bit off but I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone is suggesting that Fraser should start the next game. Those with short memories were probably the ones asking why he wasn't picked for the Scotland squad last season... fickle Caff: Last season I watched him at Parkhead and Easter Road play RB and in both games he could have easily been given motm, so he certainly can play in that position but he did look very shakey today. Didn't do to much wrong but his distribution wasn't up to what we would usually expect from Rossco. Dods & Munro: Didn't look like the brick wall that they usually are, as Caley D said probably due to the amount of covering they were doing for Golly. Second goal was inexcusable and they seemed to lack concentration at points but I guarantee next week you will see 2 reformed characters. Golly: well... where to start What my real question is, what has Hastings done to deserved being dropped? Hastings has had his critics but for me he has always been relatively solid at the back and he was also starting to show more confidence coming forward toward the end of last season. For me CC's first big mistake of the new season, hopefully this will be rectified next game. What was he doing for that first goal.... hang your head in shame!! Rankin: I can see what RIG is saying about drifting infield but I think he can definitely do a job for us out wide or in the centerer. I think he is going to be a big player for us this season. His first touch is excellent, he looks calm in possession and his final ball is killer. I like how he is now taking corners for us aswell shows he doesn't lack confidence. Black: my MOTM, never lacked any effort and for a small guy he was head and shoulders above every player on the park today. Hope he signs a contract for us because he looks as though he is a real talent... some technique to control his overhead kick and whenever he got the ball at his feet he look so hungry to do something with it. He didn't deserve to be in the loosing team today. Duncan: meeaaah, I don't see how he could be anyones MOTM. Don't get me wrong he was alright but he gives the ball away at the wrong times and although he didn't do much wrong today, he didn't do an awful lot right either. average today IMO. Wilson: Only started to play in the second half but when he did get going he looked sharp. One of the better players in the team. Wyness: Thought he was alright today, he wasn't getting any service in the first half so in the second he ended up dropping into midfield to pick up the ball. He wasted a couple of half chances by being too greedy but did put in some effort and never really lost the ball when it was at his feet. He'll score goals this season I'm sure. Dargo: It's hard to slag a player that scored our only goal but that was all he did. looked a bit jaded, probably from missing the last 2 preseason matches but when we were needing him to chase loose ends upfront he was 2 busy poaching. At least he's off the mark so hopefully he can carry on his form from last season. Keogh: headless chicken, put in the effort but never really got to grips of the game Bayne: 110 for effort as per usual and caused the defense a lot of hassle but was never going to change the way the game was going. All in all just a bad day at the office. CC made some bad decisions with his selection but he did notice it and eventually took Golly off so at least he is seeing what we are. We looked comfortable at 1-0 up and could have quite easily seen the game out if it wasn't for 2 stupid mistakes. So not totally disheartened but not very happy.

  8. I've got a ticket sorted but have a wedding on the Friday night in Falkirk so will have to see if I can get up on Saturday morning... inconsiderate ba5tards having a wedding the friday night before the start of the season :008: :016:
  9. when does it stop?? :015: :015: :015: I am reliably informed that at one point in their career every player currently at ICT will move on due to a transfer, retirement or death. I could predict a club they might move on to but I'd rather wait until it's common knowledge and then take credit for releasing the information to the public, if they move to a different club from what I originally suggested (after it was common knowledge) then I will again take credit for this and list my "predictions" as though I knew it all was going to happen in the first place. If anyone suggests otherwise I will write in bold font to scare them away!! Who am I??? :016:
  10. Since Black is not leaving IHE please have a bite of some humble pie:
  11. Yip have to agree thought Rankin was one of our better players, he certainly looked lively whenever he got the ball. Bayne needs to ask himself how much he wants to stay at an SPL club because currently he must be very close to being out the door. I personally think that McCaffery was one the poorest players last night.... I don't think I saw him make one decent challenge or header, he also seemed to be getting caught out of position on a lot of occasions. At the end of the day it was a testimonial and a very good laugh aswell. I hope Tokely got a fair bit of cash from the event and I was happy for him that so many people turned out to make tribute. The MC was excellent booing Brewster :015: :015: And it was obvious who ate all the pies ROBBO :015: :015: The game wasn't complete though until that he/she security guard (fat lookalike of Seanade O'Connor) eye balled everyone in the crowd... what an erse!
  12. Legend.... pure and simple!! :notworthy01: :notworthy01: :notworthy01: :notworthy01:
  13. Could someone please tell me the prices of tickets for both games and if there are student reductions?? I'm sure these were posted somewhere alse on the site but I can't see them
  14. 3-5-1?? You fancy playing with just 10 players next season :016: I can also see Rankin being used as more of an option for the left than in the centre
  15. Garry And his brother Steven used to frequent the pub I used to work in, in Stirling and I can confirm they are both to55ers!
  16. Woohoo the season officially starts for me... I'll be there for this and the county game aswell + 5
  17. TBH I think Hearts have the strongest team at the minute Celtic look lightweight at the back with Balde out injured an the mighty Gary Caldwell as their only defensive signing :017: Midfield is without Keane and soon to be missing Petrov Upfront they have lost 20+ goals a season, Hartson and replaced him with Riordan and Miller... Rangers were kept in have their games last season because of the excellent Watteurus (Spelling) and have replaced him with an unknown from France Ricksen is in the priory Ferguson is injured Lovenkrands is away there is more but I just can't think of them...
  18. 3-5-2??
  19. dargo was scoring,if he loses form or gets injured do u really think denzil, bayne or rory could score at least 10-15 goals,i doubt it IF's, BUT's and MAYBE's don't change the fact that we coped. What if a flu bug hit the stadium and took out half the players? Should we have a 2nd squad tucked up away somewhere so players never come in to contact with each other? I don't disagree that we could do with another Attacker, I'm just saying that we managed the second part of last season with what we have and I am sure we will do so again. The situation isn't ideal, but I don't think there's anything better out there that would be within our budget, so instead of knocking the players we do have for no good reason, lets get behind them and make sure they are supported if/when they are needed. I'm sure Sven Goran Ericsson made a very similar statement before the world cup!! :016:
  20. Hamilton :004: I'd like to change my 1st team to: ---------------------Brown---------------------- -----------Caff------Dods----Munro----------- Proctor------------Duncan-------------Hastings --------------Hart-----------Keogh-------------- -------------------------Wyness----------------- --------------------Dargo------------------------- Subs: Fraser Golly Morgan Wilson Black Rankin McCallister .... there's tooooo many options!!
  21. I'm very surprised after the performances Harty gave towards the end of last season how many of you are quick to replace him with a player that hasn't even been tested at SPL level.... don't get me wrong, I think Rankin will be a cracking player for us but Hart has already proven his worth to the team
  22. I'm obviously assuming that Tokely is injured
