I don't care what he did elsewhere, I'd rather go on the fact that he has one of, if not, the best win percentage since Pele. You're argument about the league doesn't stand up... you manage the team you have, in the league they're in he can't do anything else but try and get the wins. No other teams will touch him because he's our manager... are you actually comparing to Butcher to Sir Alex Ferguson here? Have you asked yourself why a manager with decent calibre would come anywhere near ICT?? I'm not for a second suggesting he's the answer to all our problems but he is what we have and he's obviously doing all he can for ICT and at the moment a lot of what he's doing is working. I don't buy into the "we live in a blame culture" boll0x but after reading your last sentence I see what they mean. You have no idea what went on behind the scenes or what influenced Butcher's decisions at that time... it was his decision to make and he was obviously doing what he thought was neccesary to keep us in the division. If Tokely doesn't get caught on the wrong side of Higdon (?) then you would be kissing the ground he walked on for it being a piece of genius. We were relegated and he was incharge at the time but to say that it was his fault when we were in such a dire hole before he arrived is well off the mark

I'm not quite a believer... I have already called for Butcher's head once or twice this season. At Christmas I was more concerned that we were looking down the table rather than upward, it seemed that Butcher was set to leave at the end of the season anyway and the team looked a complete and utter mess. Now time for some Rafa Benitez syle "phacts": phact 1, We are 3 points from the league leaders phact 2, We have the best away record in the division phact 3, We have the top goal scorer in the division phact 4, We are the form team in the division phact 5, Butcher & Malpas have signed on for next season no matter what phact 6, We have started signing up players (although some senior players would be nice) phact 7, Dundee aren't the world beaters we once thought they were phact 8, We haven't been beaten at home this year phact 9, We have Jonny Hayes phact 10, None of this matters if we get beat on Saturday Kidding.... even if the worst happens there is still plenty to play for so I hope everyone realises it's never over until it's over. It seems to be doom and gloom on this forum but this is most positive I've felt about ICT in a long time.. we need to show some support for the team and Butcher even if they are performing as we'd like on the park or Butcher's making one or 2 more changes than you think he should be. ... and after saying all that am I hypocrite for not coming this Saturday?

I think he mucked up by letting Imrie go for tuppence ha'penny as well - seems like he wasn't good enough to play for us regularly in division 1, yet he seems to have started virtually every game Hamilton have played in the SPL since he went there. Our record since Imrie left the club is almost flawless + if we didn't sell Imrie for what we did he would have walked for nothing in the Summer

I think that's the worst post you've made since the 2-4-5 formation one. If he wasn't a very good manager, why would we be sitting 3 points behind the leaders with the best form in the division, top goal scorers in the division, arguably his signing, Jonny Hayes, could win the best player in the division??? I am not suggesting he's perfect.. infact I still have reservations on a number of things currently, why Bully's been dropped when we are just getting to the business end of the season... but I'd rather point out the aspects he's done well and there are a lot more of them than negatives... The fact people are bemoaning the standard of football after we won a match to put us in touching distance of the title testifies to that. You really need to drop this "Butcher got us relegated" cr@p.. he might have made a couple of bad decisions in important matches but we wouldn't have been anywhere near that position if he hadn't have made the right decisions beforehand to get us there. We were gone when Butcher arrived and the team made a valiant effort to survive but didn't... get over it.

I didn't think playing Ross was the most worrying thing, after all he scored (as easy as it might have been) and we won but I am concerned that he's dropped Bully.. not because Tokely is playing at centre half but I don't think Proctor is a great right back. Possibly worried about the team burning out with the number of games recently but I don't know what Bully's done to deserve being dropped, thought he was excellent against Dee and likewise Tokely had the best game (I've seen) at right back

Or in your case, use it as another excuse for some Butcher-Bashing. Where's the clutching at straws smiley? And anyway, saying anything other than Butcher is the greatest thing to happen to world ever, seem to be a crime on here these days. Or is that just when it comes to me? I think it's more for the fact that recently every post you make on this forum suggests dis-content with Butcher..... or you believe because you're a wizz with Football manager that you could do a better job than him in real life. For the fact that Butcher has engineered ICT to 3 points behind the league leaders when we looked dead and buried at Christmas and he's rarely put a foot wrong since then suggests you might be "clutching at straws"... remember, Butcher has only 1 go when he plays a game of football... unlike Football manager he doesn't have the option of quitting the game and replaying the match

I'm not using it as an excuse not to go if that's what you mean (got plenty of them... the jip I get from the mrs being the main one)... no, I'm getting the nerves already thinking about it.. I couldn't handle it if we lost at least if I'm at home I can switch off all media devices and pretend it didn't happen but having to drive home for 3 hours after the last 2 defeats was horrendous
-
I can do little else but admire that devotion Harry, but will you not feel helluva guilty if we lose and it's all down to being one voice short in the crowd? Just one well time shout of encouragement from you could be the difference between victory and defeat? How could you do that to us? Selfish! B) I don't want the blame if it all goes pete tong Na honestly, been thinking about this game for a while now and my mind is made up. Hopefully it's the right decision
-
I'll be hiding behind my sofa at home.. travelled up the road for the last 2 and couldn't handle it if we lost again. + think we'll have more luck without me... I've only managed to see the team win once all season.

If County get to the cup final...

I'm drinking what he's drinking Get to f*ck... I wouldn't dream of ever supporting them for any reason what so ever. -
Don't think I've ever heard you so negative Manny I wasn't at the game and by all accounts it sounds like we were brutal to watch but that is the sort of game we would have lost earlier in the season. 3 points are 3 points, we're touching distance of the top of the league now, which comes with it's own pressure. The idea of playing pretty football has to go out of the window because it's all about who can scrape together the most points than the other I'm sure on the last day of the season, if promoted, no one is going to be complaining about how poorly we played against Morton.
-
It's not as if we've played bad all season ffs, 1 essential game which has put us only 3 points behind Dundee. We played Dundee off the park in the challenge cup and 2 weeks ago but still didn't come out with a result... is anyone actually telling me they would prefer that? I think some of our fans need a reality check... we were dead and buried at Christmas and now find ourselves with the best form in the division, the best goals ratio and in with a real shout of promotion.

Or in your case, use it as another excuse for some Butcher-Bashing. tru dat I'd go (dependent on suspensions): Esson Tokely Bully Munro Golly Hayes Duncan Cox Proctor Odhiambo Rooney Solid as possible, win the battle in the centre and use the pace of Odhiambo and Hayes on the flanks. If not working bring on Sanchez for whichever of the 3 centre mids is playing the poorest

Reasons why: When you are playing with 1 forward it makes sense to have at least one winger that can cut onto their favoured foot and join the attack. For example... Man U play with Rooney up top and either Park or Nani cutting in from the left. Barca play with one up top and have Messi cutting in from the right. Milan have Ronaldinho, Bayern have Robben (did anyone see his goal last week B) ) & Ribery, Arsenal have Arshavin all of them play on the opposite of what you would call their favoured side. I have used Champions league teams because they are the most recognisable but the majority of teams use the same tactic now-a-days... I play right wing with my amateur team and I'm naturally left footed!! It's very difficult for a full back to defend against a player that can cut inside, when defending they can pull into midfield and strengthen the centre of the park, they offer more of a goal threat cutting in and more to the point with Rooney playing in the centre on his own against 2 centre halves he is unlikely to win a header if the winger was making runs to the bye line and crossing the ball

could/should have put money on Ross scoring .... get in :) :) :) don't stop til we have 3

:P :( very funny... poor stuwall, silly c*nt -
I think he's underrated because people think he's so overrated :) Media darling he may be but he's still one of the most technically gifted players to come out of Britain....

Esson Tokely Bully Munro Golly Duncan Cox Odhiambo Sanchez Hayes Rooney

I'd fancy my 7's team to take them :D

I prefer to think of the first being a sublime strike from Kerr and the second some jinky trickery from GGH to leave 3 defenders flatfooted followed by a speculatiuve strike that got just reward for his efforts :D there was also a stick on penalty in the first half when Shinnie was brought down,Griffiths had a couple of efforts and Hutchie a fair effort knocked over by Easson, that said, you's should have been well oota sight by the time Kerr struck.................. Spose it depends whaur yer sitting eh  Come off it mate, I drove a Dundee fan back and forth to the game and even his specs weren't tinted that dark blue.... Dundee created no more half chances.. even the goals Your team relies heavily on Harkins & Griffiths... from what I hear Harkins picks and chooses his games to perform so it's really down to Griffiths. Ex-tink, Higgins is a decent player but you've paid the wages for Hutchinson so Jocky is probably under pressure to play him instead even if he is attrocious (if there's so much money in the pot why let Curier go on loan?). Shinnie looked average and your defence is more suspect than ours I think we definitely have a better team, it's just whether we started our comeback too late
-
either: Duncan Proctor Odhiambo Cox Hayes Rooney or Duncan Cox Odhiambo Sanchez Hayes Rooney Foran was excellent in the Dee match, doing the hard work so Hayes & Odhiambo had more space... big blow but as Mannie says better to get it out the way now. I hope this isn't the start of players missing games due to suspensions & injuries.. we have a big squad for the division but if anything happened to Hayes or Rooney I'm not sure we could cope
-
can't see it

:D :panda02: a game of guess who Renegade is??? Me & mate were doing it the other day at the Dee game... both had completely different opinions You're a man/woman of mistery Rene
