  1. Craig Brewster's ego.
  2. Diddy cup, would be great to have more silverware in the cabinet but if we are concerned about any cup run this season it should be for the Scottish (Homecoming or whatever it's called) Cup and that alone. This would be a nothing game if it wasn't for our opponent I am far more concerned about the game the weekend after As far as beating C*unty, I'd take a loss this weekend if we can record 3 wins against them in the league
  3. I think it will be good for Burley to see we can play football without Miller in the first team. I'm interested to see the potential partnership of O'Connor and Fletcher up front... could be a decent combination
  4. I don't buy that. We're 7 games into the tightest league in Britain. The league positions of Queens, Dundee and Dunfermline only tell us that they have had a good, average and bad start to the season respectively. We still don't know who will challenge for the league this season but i still think Dundee and Dunfermline will be up there. The County is huge. Given our poor run of home form, a win against the gypos could be exactly what we need to kick-start our home form and a cup final wouldn't be bad for morale. It is still very early but Queens have been the most consistent away & at home, very good manager, they have one of the best defenders in the league in Bob Harris and they now have a forward line which matches any in the division. Dundee will come good but I don't think they will win the league and Dunfermline look to be as inconsistent as ... well ... us. Don't get me wrong I'd be happy to get to a final of a cup, it would be a great day out but if I could chose a win against Queens and sacrafice the Alba (Diddy of Diddy) cup then I would do in a second.
  5. Snodgrass has been excellent for Leeds... Although a division below I'd take him over Commons any day of the century
  6. Nevermind the 'mighty dees' or Dunflopline it looks as though our main competitors (if we decide to start competing) are going to be Queens! While we are waisting time and effort against C*unty this weekend they are playing Morton at home and unless 'the ton' pull off a blinder Queens will have a 4 point gap at the top of the league. Our game against them the following Saturday could define our season IMO and to top it off they have 2 of our old favourites and they'll be gunning to prove a point. Massive game!
  7. Scotland squad: Goalkeepers: Craig Gordon (Sunderland), Jamie Langfield (Aberdeen), David Marshall (Cardiff City) Defenders: Darren Barr (Falkirk), Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Gary Caldwell (Celtic), Daniel Fox (Celtic), Alan Hutton (Tottenham Hotspur), Stephen McManus (Celtic), Steven Whittaker (Rangers) Midfielders: Charles Adam (Blackpool), Scott Brown (Celtic), Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), Shaun Maloney (Celtic), Robert Snodgrass (Leeds United), Kevin Thomson (Rangers), Ross Wallace (Preston North End) Forwards: Steven Fletcher (Burnley), Steven Naismith (Rangers), Garry O'Connor (Birmingham City), Derek Riordan (Hibernian) Have to say, I'm impressed with this squad; it's as balanced as any Scotland squad I've seen in the last few years and a couple of youngsters to get excited about... and Commons isn't in it (yay) :D
  8. depends on what?
  9. He's still working.... eh sort of
  10. THE RULES!! This is what the prison wardens stewards will be working from
  11. We have enough cover in every position at the moment + when Imrie comes back he'll be like a new signing. We'll have to sell first before we get anyone else in IMO
  12. Liverpool squad 1977 This squad consisted of 17 players and won the European cup, the English league title and reached the final of the FA cup. Although there may be a very small (tiny) difference in the quality of our current team and the 1977 liverpool team it shows that even competing in Europe it is possible to win trophies with a small squad. Tokely, Proctor, Golly and Zadi (apparently) can all play at centre half if need be... it is shame about Duff because this would have been an excellent season to blood him into the first team. I really wish people would stop picking bones out of the squad we are obviously shorter than last season because we have dropped a division. Butcher has made a point of bringing in players that can cover more than one position which gives him plenty of options.
  13. As long as Barrowman, Rooney, Duncan & McBain all get a full 90 I'd be happy We're going to get beat, the way Motherwell are playing at the moment they are more than a match for any team in Scotland but it will be a good marker to see how far we have fallen.
  14. If this did happen it would come back to bite us one the arse I'd happily sell him to anyone else apart from C*unty
  15. I hope City get gubbed I hate the idea that money buys you success.. they're exciting to watch but I hope Man U put them in their place for the moment. Without Adebyor upfront they don't have much chance of winning anyway IMO What I would say about the City v Arsenal game is that it's hard to feel sorry for any Arsenal player when everyday there seems to be another one coming out with stories about how they were beaten up during the match by big bad Adebyor
  16. I think the most frustraiting thing about Eduardo's dive is because he really didn't need to do it.... what I mean by that is; his side already had 2 away goals and they were clearly on top during the game. I think if it was in a more competitive fixture people might understand the dive from desperation to win (win at all costs attitude) but the game was almost a competitive friendly by that point in the game and Eduardo still took it upon himself to cheat, which shows poor sportmanship as well as real underlying thought process to want to cheat
  17. :)
  18. Was never a dive, Gallas clearly swiped his leg I thought the punishment was harsh to be honest but agree it definitely was a dive but to overturn the decision just makes them look a completely amateur outfit.
  19. Can't think of anything in particular... think most fans hated him to be honest How's he been getting on for the Jambos, any good?
  20. I've been campaigning for a 16 team SPL for years now but can't see it happening
  21. not a fan then Harry? i'm 50/50 at the moment, seen glimpses of potential id be happy if i heard the same thing aboud Calum Davidson! The fact he doesn't even get a game for Derby anymore (or is regularly subbed off/on) and still makes the Scotland squad says it all. Agree re Davidson he is also pish
  22. I'm happy for Burley to continue as long as the SFA had him sign a contract agreeing that Commons will never play in a Scotland jersey again.
  23. No he has never played at right back, although there was a spell when he first joined the club Pele played him as a right sided midfielder :D
  24. na I've been banging on about him being lazy since the first game of the season... could have just been a fitness issue or he was settling into Scottish football... either way delighted to be proved wrong
