  4. Pan Drops saved by sweet package Pan Drops were once a household name in Scotland A rescue deal has saved 83 jobs and the future of one of Scotland's best-known sweets, it has emerged. A team led by Graham Wallace and Andy Allan has bought Broxburn-based John Millar and Sons, which includes Pan Drops in its products. The two men put together a deal to save Highland Toffee maker McCowan's when it went into receivership earlier in the year. Mr Wallace predicted a successful future for the two firms. "The combination of the two businesses gives revenues of £10m per annum, making us one of the biggest confectionery manufacturers in Scotland," he said. The Broxburn firm was founded in 1884 by Leith baker John Millar and now makes chocolate eclairs and chocolate limes as well as Pan Drops. The receivers were called in after margins became tighter through a combination of production problems, increases in prices of raw materials and the power wielded by the major retailers.

  11. I continue to be amazed by the resolute CC Protection Society. I, like many of the other critical posters on here, back CC and can appreciate what he has, what the limitations are and the fact that he is learning his trade at the top. CC is and always will be a feckin legend but: Listen very carefully as I will only say this once feckin more: CC appears unable to apportion any blame to himself. He blames the players, the crowd, the wages, the geographics - anything but "Yeah - I got it wrong today - but I am a novice and I will learn." No "sorry" just feckin excuses. That is what feckin pisses me off . Anyone agree
  12. Anyway - now the therapy has ended - as I was saying. :001:
  13. I sometimes think we forget that, until March last year, in six attempts we hadn't beaten Dundee United, home or away," said Christie. "I'm disappointed in the home support when they're harassing the players and not giving them their full backing at 0-0 at home to Dundee United, especially after the kick in the teeth of Celtic. "Just compare wage bills, budgets and club size. They've had a man who has invested millions of his own money to support their club. For us to be above them again in the league speaks volumes for our players. I'm delighted for them, not myself or anyone else." :025: :025: :025: Feck me. That is much more diplomatic - He is feckin learning. Sense the frustration had boiled over from the Cellic game. If only CC had put his hands up instead of employing defensive rationalisation and projection.
  14. That is a maladaptive coping strategy - it just makes things worse. :018: :018:
  15. Taliking about management - Here is a suggested course fer EWS :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: [move]APPLY TO MANN FER THE JOB, NORTH KESSOCK STUDIOS[/move] :015: :015: :015: :015:

  17. We just simply have got to get the correct ingredients or the cake will go flat at Rugby Park. More of a challenge than usual for CC - Granty suspended and Royster returning. Bound to be differences in opinion about this. Watching Setanta it would appear that Nish and Naismith are the front two with Naismith playing off a lot of lumping to Nish, as Wales is crocked. Johnston is the play maker and is more central than he used to be. Now it could be that Killie may have the League Cup Final on their minds but we have to look to our own formation first and foremost. Nish is a target man and Dods can handle him. We need pace fer Naismith so Caff may fit the bill. However I would suggest pairing Dods and Hastings in the middle and putting Morgan in at left back. Royster is a CC fave so I can see him being accomodated in a five man midfield of Wilson - Duncan - Black - Royster - Rankin with Bayne ploughing the lonely front furrow. I may even have to congratulate CC if he gets this rite. Wonder wht he is thinking?
  18. Oh what a shame. Try this in future - it may help.
