  4. The problems yesterday were: 300 of us in a stand area fer 1000 and everybody sitting two rows from feckin each other. Where were the feckin hard core HMS Sneck crew? All I can say is - Thank feck I am back to sort it out. :004: Get yer feckin singing voices ready fer Castle Greyskull and Middenland. :003:
  5. May be unfair but on the evidence of my first 45 minutes of scrutiny I really do NOT think that they are a middle of the park pairing. We played a very structured 4-2-4 in the first half. Bazza operating exclusively on the right, Black in the right hand side and Rankin on the left hand side of the middle and McBain on the left. That curtails Bazza and McBain looked like a fish out of water. Both Black and Rankin wanted to pick up the ball from the defence almost every time. Rankin getting the majority of the passes may have pissed off Black. Black tended to hold more whereas Rankin made the runs that McBain should have been making. They both want to be playmaker and that simply does'nt work. There was a distinct improvement in the second half but Rankin failed to grab the opportunity to shine. He has a good engine and has a very cultured left foot but he doesnt look like an SPL playmaker yet. McBain looked considerably more at ease in a holding type role, Bazza could roam and Hart also played a bit deeper. So lets give Bazza the playmaker role (he is the only one with the football brain and experience). If Blackie comes back I would persist with him as the playmaker and swop Hart fer Wilson. Rankin has a sweet left foot and some of the crosses from Rankin and Hart today were as good as I have seen in ages. Rankin needs to learn the SPL trade so stick him on the left and let him gain experience.
  6. Agree with most of yer player comments Hairy cept: Rosscoe isnt 100% fit. He looks to be struggling when pushing forward. Hastings was a stout defender but is frightened of having a feckin nose bleed when he gets 25-30 yards from the opposition goal. Munro totally lost Nish at the goal. McBain, Black Bazza and Hart - spot on. Bayne was my MOTM. Dargo not only missed a sitter but his final pass to Bayne in front of goal was DIRE. I suspect the bad knock he took early doors hampered him. Rory really should have scored or tested the keeper.
  7. Black's crass stupidity could have cost us the game yesterday. He began mouthing McCurry at a very early stage and was "warned" even before the booking. But then he forearmed a Killie player, cringed thinking "I am off" and went to ground, then realised that neither the ref or the linesman had seen the incident and was very, very fortunate not to get a straight red. Then kicking the ball into the net when even I had heard the whistle. He really should have gone for that and I cannot understand how McCurry let it go. I reckon McCurry may have forewarned CC or Dods that one more blemish and he would be offski. It could also be the frustration of not getting as much of the ball as Wilson and Rankin. But thats another talking point.
