  1. I think I'd rather Paul Sturrock than Yogi ... eh Beastie ;)
  2. Gonna be a nervous sleep for me now. Really had my heart set on Hartley. Hoping he is still going to be our man.
  3. Will believe the Hartley story when I see it. Money will be there and security will be there and if Geography isn't an issue then I smell I wind up. But the sooner this ends the better - Team Hartley!
  4. Between Yogi and Hartley? No brainer, Hartley, nothing more needs to be said - Team Hartley!
  5. Accomplished performance against a potential banana skin. 2 well taken goals from Bill and 2 well taken penalties from Ross and Doran who both impressed overall. Marley looked a lot better, he's past Darren Thomson status ;). Great cross for Billy. Gutted for Toby. He was my audacious bet to score...
  6. For different reasons Id be happy with Levein or Hartley. Out of all the experienced names in the running, Levein is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of what he has achieved with Hearts and Dundee United. Internationally he bombed but he will see this as a major shot at redemption. He will provide a wealth of experience and probably have a good set of contacts to utilise in the transfer market. Hartey is untested at top level but his success with Alloa is nothing short of amazing. He has earned a top flight move by guiding Alloa a long way in a short space of time. He has no baggage as a relatively new manager to the game and would be relishing his chance to step up no doubt, think out of all the applicants he is the only one that would get more or less unanimous support - a crucial thing at this point in the season. For the sake of unity and giving a promising young manager his big break Im still very much Team Hartley...but if Levein is chosen Id get behind him all the same.
  7. Roughi's dream team would be amazing but I'm fairly sure the 2 horse race will come down to Levein vs Hartley.
  8. Got to be surely, unless STV, BBC, and Sky are all wrong...Team Hartley!
  9. If that's true then he will probably get the job. He is whats delaying the decision, so i've been told but we shall see.
  10. Heard Levein has been interviewed...make of that what you want...
  11. It was a Hearts player that wound up the crowd but it wasn't Hartley, it was Skacel. I remember he'd scored a belter, annoyed our crowd with his uncalled for celebration and turned round to a booking - plonker.
  12. Hartley lacks top flight experience yes but his record at lower league level is nothing short of amazing when you look at how he started at Alloa. He has earned this move with what he has achieved. All other mentioned candidates carry a lot of baggage whereas with Hartley being untested but promising most folks seem to think he is the man to take charge. Think the fans will get behind him from the word go.
  13. Where have we heard this before Exactly my thoughts! In a way he isn't lying as the club haven't spoken to him, only Alloa chairman for permission. Weve learnt to take everything said with pinch of salt and if he wasnt a priority we wouldnt have approached him. Odds havent been shortening on Hartley for nothing. Hoping all this is sorted and we get him. Got a good feeling that he is the right man for the job. Both BBC and STV are saying we approached, nobody has denied we have approached. Clarification from the club would be nice IMO I disagree. In my view, both clubs are doing things in the right way in conducting their business in private. Agreed. If Hartley is made manager then this will be an example of how to do business from both parties involved. Rod Petrie and Terry Butcher take note...

  15. Richard Brittain is an example - just not a great one.
  16. I dreamed about Hartley becoming our gaffer...2 days later permission is granted to speak to him...its destiny - Team Hartley
  17. Another morning and hopefully we are another morning closer to Team Hartley...
  18. Team Hartley! I dreamt about it lol
  19. Honestly thinking that you are on the wind-up now! Totally disagree that Watkins has no skill. He is willing to take the ball in tight situations from throws, especially in the first half and worked some good positions. Needs to get his final ball away earlier however as lost the chance to cross on a few occasions. Don't forget however that he is still getting used to this level of football and sometimes it takes a few games to adjust and get it right. Darren Thomson has a better cross... Only one Darren Thomson
  20. Sportsound host on the most blatant fishing trip tonight
  21. Honestly thinking that you are on the wind-up now! Darren Thomson has a better cross...
  22. I heard yesterday that he was at the game. Yet we also heard yesterday he was out of the running...I just dont know anymore Alot of hearsay to be honest. Hopefully everything will be settled by tomorrow evening. (Wishful thinking) Your right...wishful thinking. Still remaining as Team Hartley here... Same here but if someone of Craig Levein's calibre came calling I think the club would opt for him. All hearsay again but if he is available aye fair enough.
  23. Watkins really seems to have divided opinion following yesterday. His workrate his 2nd to none and he did a lot of effective work tracking back but he possesses almost no skill and im yet to see him convincingly beat a man on the wing.
