  1. Saint Mirren are playing well at home just now. Im not surprised they are in good control of the game. The longer they go without the goal the more of a chance we will have of nicking something.
  2. Dont think it will Shearer. He will want to go back to what he is doing with the under 20's. I would expect Yogi to bring in someone he knows.
  3. Welcome to the Highlands Mr Hughes, may your time here be successful and prosperous.
  4. I liked what he had to say in the interview. Glad he has picked up on the team spirit and seems to grasp the quality that he has inherited, as well as taking on board that change isnt necessary. If he keeps us playing good football and getting results then he has my full support - Team Yogi.
  5. Eh AJ I told you long before the paper did mate Have you even read Tuesday's courier? Painted a very different picture to what you said last night but hey look you were right...well done I like how your stalking me for an apology, makes me feel important. You'll get one on Wednesday like you ask and when you can spell my name properly
  6. I wanted Hartley (made no secret of that) and whoever passed on the information for todays Courier needs fired...quickly. Whether we like it or not Yogi will be our new gaffer. Ive had my time to contemplate it and as a fan I feel the right thing to do is to put aside who I wanted and what I think and back him as our new boss. Im pretty baffled that the board have gone for him and can only conclude to some extent that they are settling for him. He would have been a decent appointment if we were still an aspiring mid-table side but we are that no longer. I wouldnt be surprised if he had a decent season with us on this team, its what follows that I will watch with great interest, when he makes his own signings and tries to stamp his own authority into the side. If he tries to change too much too quickly he will be gone before he begins, he will need to be patient. To some extent he has suffered from bad luck. Falkirk was his first job and he did well bringing them up and developing players like Scott Arfield, Darren Barr and to an extent the likes of Anthony Stokes, all of whom have become good players, as well as getting them to a final and keeping them in the SPL. Hartlepool was a sinking ship and he was perhaps given a raw deal at Hibs in the end (open to interpretation). If it goes well then fine, we can look back on this and laugh, if it goes wrong then the board will remember the reception this news got when it first broke out...
  7. I hope he brings Russell Latapy with him as an assistant...
  8. No wind up . You can say sorry on Wednesday Welcome to ICT John...
  9. Only after shelling out a fortune on Anthony Stokes and paying high wages to Liam Miller, as well as inheriting Mixu's team. Once the money dried up and he started buidling his own team of free bes it all went wrong..;
  10. Cant help but be really disappointed given the time it has taken to get to this decision. Hartley was my ideal choice and I think everyone elses. Yogi would be a great appointment if we were still an aspiring team looking to push up from 8th place but we are not. Hartlepool was a sinking ship but his time at Hibs started so well with money then fell apart without. That said his time at Falkirk was a success...,more or less. He gets my full backing if its his job but this was nowhere worth the wait.
  11. Could Eagle be John Hughes?
  12. I think I'd rather Paul Sturrock than Yogi ... eh Beastie ;)
  13. Gonna be a nervous sleep for me now. Really had my heart set on Hartley. Hoping he is still going to be our man.
  14. Will believe the Hartley story when I see it. Money will be there and security will be there and if Geography isn't an issue then I smell I wind up. But the sooner this ends the better - Team Hartley!
  15. Hope to see him stay on. Offers a physical presence and has shown flashes of what he's capable of.
  16. Between Yogi and Hartley? No brainer, Hartley, nothing more needs to be said - Team Hartley!
  17. Accomplished performance against a potential banana skin. 2 well taken goals from Bill and 2 well taken penalties from Ross and Doran who both impressed overall. Marley looked a lot better, he's past Darren Thomson status ;). Great cross for Billy. Gutted for Toby. He was my audacious bet to score...
  18. For different reasons Id be happy with Levein or Hartley. Out of all the experienced names in the running, Levein is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of what he has achieved with Hearts and Dundee United. Internationally he bombed but he will see this as a major shot at redemption. He will provide a wealth of experience and probably have a good set of contacts to utilise in the transfer market. Hartey is untested at top level but his success with Alloa is nothing short of amazing. He has earned a top flight move by guiding Alloa a long way in a short space of time. He has no baggage as a relatively new manager to the game and would be relishing his chance to step up no doubt, think out of all the applicants he is the only one that would get more or less unanimous support - a crucial thing at this point in the season. For the sake of unity and giving a promising young manager his big break Im still very much Team Hartley...but if Levein is chosen Id get behind him all the same.
  19. Roughi's dream team would be amazing but I'm fairly sure the 2 horse race will come down to Levein vs Hartley.
  20. Got to be surely, unless STV, BBC, and Sky are all wrong...Team Hartley!
  21. If that's true then he will probably get the job. He is whats delaying the decision, so i've been told but we shall see.
  22. Heard Levein has been interviewed...make of that what you want...
  23. It was a Hearts player that wound up the crowd but it wasn't Hartley, it was Skacel. I remember he'd scored a belter, annoyed our crowd with his uncalled for celebration and turned round to a booking - plonker.
  24. Hartley lacks top flight experience yes but his record at lower league level is nothing short of amazing when you look at how he started at Alloa. He has earned this move with what he has achieved. All other mentioned candidates carry a lot of baggage whereas with Hartley being untested but promising most folks seem to think he is the man to take charge. Think the fans will get behind him from the word go.
