    Orion Offski?

Alex and Kingsmills sum up my thoughts entirely - cheers chaps. Orion have kept us in out of the red which is fair enough but a fresh injection of cash from another source would be welcome and could go a long way towards other possible ventures.
  2. Left to reflect on what could have been with this one. He's one of the most promising young managers in the game. Good luck to him wherever he goes...unless its over the bridge.
  3. Yoann Arquin is the only County striker to score this season...with 1 debut goal - this is fact. So much for being high scorers. Adams is on a planet of his own. Long may he stay there.
  4. Perhaps he has finally woken up and smelt the same stench that the rest of the world could...that Hibs are gash and he has climbed aboard a sinking ship, honeymoon period is over - good luck Terry!
  5. Fantastic result and performance in both attack and defence. You couldnt have written a better script. Yogi who has allegedly bombed takes his side to play the best team in the league next to Celtic and Danny Williams, a player under fire himself for not looking up to scratch scores a peach of a winner. I said it a few weeks ago that when you lose so many key players and require bit part lads to step up and dig deep then it can galvanize a team, today was a prime example of that. Im just so pleased as it seems we have finally turned a corner after a harsh winter. I really hope this is where we get back to our best. Hard to pick out a particular name. Shinnie showed all the qualities of a true leader, Devine was solid, Williams looked so dangerous at times, Tansey looked sharp when he got on, its no surprise that since Raven has returned our defence has improved dramatically, Deano picked out a stunning save while Polworth gave a good account in a vital game. Aberdeen for all their quality couldnt really break us down, they saw more of the ball but it was ourselves who had the better chances and were it not for a post and a bobble it could have easily been 2 or 3. Massive result, tremendous boost and a chance of another classic away day next week...John Hughes, you sir may rest easy tonight - On the Road with Yogi and Russ!
  6. Delight for Danny boy. Back in his natural position and its paying divideince.
  7. I was going to suggest that myself. I think Josh Magennis and Billy Mckay are mates so it might be a decent partnership. Josh can also play at right back which in an ideal world would be back up to David Raven rather than sticking Graeme Shinnie there. Just noticed that Magennis's contract is up at the end of the season, one way or another he will be getting pushed down the pecking order with Zola, Vernon and whoever they bring in over January contending for places... I hope Yogi is aware of this. Megennis would be a terrific signing. Aberdeen are now in the running for Rooney as well, seriously Magennis would be worth taking a chance on, perfect little and large strike force with Billy...

    Greg Tansey

We couldve signed Xavi just now but cos he'd be a Yogi purchase it would be seen as a player thats either too old, past his best, or seen as an excuse to overlook the youth I actually think its a really smart move, he may not have been so consistent when he was first here but lets be serious...who really was during that season? It was the most disrupted, disjointed season that we've ever had in terms of trying to put a team together, so many players fell foul of it...he was one of them. Once we have Foran, Draper and Vincent back in the fold we will be well covered in terms of quantity and quality in midfield. Been a while since we had that. We saw flashes of brilliance from him and we are a different team from the one he left. With the likes of Draper or Foran playing the more defensive role Tansey will have more freedom to do what he does in midfield, he's a good ball player, hes got a set piece in his locker and an eye for goal. I see no point in reading what the Stevenage fans have to say. If we paid attention to what fans of previous clubs said then the likes of Foran, Hayes, Esson or even Raven would never have been signed Welcome back Greg...lets all do the Tansey!

Hughes says he is still looking for cover up top...pleasing.

  12. Hibs could gaurantee first team football, we probably won't. I think he will go to Hibs. He's far too old to be a Terry signing - the club has changed but I doubt his methods wont have that much. I thought Stephen Thompson would be a waste of time joining St Mirren at 35 but he has had somewhat of a renaissance since going there. Jason Scotland could have a similar impact, if he is available its a deal worth taking. Hopefully Russell could have a word in his ear...
  13. If Aberdeen get Greatpenis then I wouldnt say no to making a move for Josh Magennis (awaiting abuse). Ive always been impressed by him. Powerful pacy and versatile. Not an out and out scorer but still capable and brings a different approach up top...
  14. Rory Donnelly - 6 foot 2 forward at Swansea, has barely kicked a ball since he arrived there from Cliftonville. A loan move for the rest of the season would be a realistic possibility.
  15. Did we make a move to sign Michael Mols in 2004 not long after being promoted? I seem to remember something about that. As I recall he was a free agent having just left Rangers but ended up moving out to Qatar to play with the De Boer brothers.
  16. Pele underwent exactly the same change when he went to Aberdeen, and it did him no favours at all. Possibly something to do with having to appear forward-thinking and ambitious to supporters of perennially under-achieving clubs. I'm sort of with RiG on this - rather Vincent than Draper. I suspect I didn't fully appreciate what Vincent gave to the team though - in the games I saw him in earlier in the season I felt that he didn't do a great deal, but there is no question that our best performances happened with him in the side, so I probably missed something. Brewster was atrocious for it too, I remember him more or less tapping up Black, Dods and Proctor and I remember Malpas grassed him up to SFA for publicly declaring interest in Scott McDonald as well. All it does is antagonize. Hoping Vincent stays though. He offered a great go between for midfield and attack and settled into that position in the hole. What I noticed without him was that once he was out of the team the overall play and free flowing football we had seen was less fluent and I'd say still is. He may not have provided anything pleasing to the eye but he was providing a key cause to the team. I would hate to lose him cause I think he will get better, and especially lose him to the Judas.
  17. So it seems Tansey could be en route. Still a bit confused as to the motive but would be welcome all the same. Looks like Latapy wil be in soon. Will be a relief to see our managment team finally complete.
  18. Butcher never did this when with ICT. He tended to keep tight lipped about potential signings...big headedness has obviously kicked in.
  19. A curse upon your house Terry Butcher
  20. Brill Raven, Meekings, Devine, Tremarco Polworth, Shinnie Doran, Christie, Greenhalgh McKay subs: Esson, Cooper, Ross, Pepper, Williams, Watkins, Evans

    John Hughes

Tactically Yogi got it spot on today. With what he had at his disposal he picked the best possible 11 and he wasnt shy in giving Christie and Polworth their chances, both of whom are giving an account of themselves. There have been a number of circumstances that have seen us have the dismal winter spell that we have had, a lot of which were outwith his control but today certainly saw the positives outshine the negatives. I really want him to do well just so we can get over the unease of will he/wont he and so some that are struggling to get to grips with it can get back to simply supporting the team. Would like to see him bring in a couple over the window so we can at least get some sort of look at how he does business and so he can put some sort of spin on the team that is his, it could be the sort of thing that could kick start the season. There needs to be a great deal of patience and while things may get worse before they get better but we will all still be there showing support with today hopefully being a step in the right direction.
  22. Much better but still room for improvement. Thought the team selection was spot on. Shinnie plugged the gap in midfield and finally Raven was selected and justified it with a solid performance. Williams faired better out wide but needs to be more confident when running with the ball, Greenhalgh seemed to show a bit more flair when he came on, would like to see more of him. Both teams had chances, United hitting the woodwork and Ross with the penalty so ultimately a point was probably a fair result. As IHE said we have stopped the rot so we have to build on this asap. Also nice to see Polworth and Christie get some more time on the pitch...long may the blooding of youngsters continue. Deano had a bit of a mare today, kicking and handling at times as well as being a few inches off achieving a Peter Enckelman but still produced some good moments, Doran as well, nothing he did seemed to come off, he will see better days without question.
  23. Got my seat booked. Sounds like my bus is full of plenty characters cue Dawson ... Buzzin for it!
