  1. Well he did score a spectacular strike against them last year...one of the greatest strikes i've ever seen in the flesh. Hopefully he will get some regular football there and a bit of experience.
  2. Yes Black should defnitely play against Celtic as there is no one left to play in the centre midfield because if things are as they stand.... Cowie will join Watford NOW therefore he will probably be gone by Sunday and even if we do sign Brian Kerr he is not going to be match fit at all. That makes him fit for the bench at the most. So that leaves us with Black and Duncan so unless we plan on some other daft formation where we resort to playing simply one central midfield player i really don't think Terry Butcher has much choice. Also for the fact that i agree with all that Black will be totally committed to the cause of keeping us up and would love to depart ICT at the end of the season knowing he played his part in keeping us up....if we stay up.
  3. According to Southends official site he had his contract terminated by mutual consent today with a view to returning to Scotland. I'm hoping thats us nabbed him then. P&J said he would be joining us if he agreed a release.

    Butcher's Mafia

He handles the media very well, listened to his press conference when he signed and he was really good i thought. I like what he's doing so far and he appears to be motivating the players and hopefully it will bring some results(hopefully on Sunday).
  5. Again Butcher continues to pursue decent players. Steven Smith would be an excellent signing and Jim Paterson equally. Surely Lionel must go now. If we get Smith thats us with 4 left backs which we don't need, i don't know why they don't just pay off Lionel, like they did with Rory. If we got these guys plus Foran and Kerr then hats off to a good set of players for Mr Butcher.
  6. May try and get a couple of loan moves. But Kerr and Foran have more chance of being successful here than any of Brewsters signings. No point is using the money to keep the out of contract trio anymore....cause there all leaving! Cash dosen't come by often for us to spend so i say spend as much of it now at a time when we really need too.
  7. Both were decent people to meet but were incredibly difficult to work with....so i'm told.

    Don Cowie

Say Nak if your taking Cowie any chance of us getting Jobi McAnuff in exchange??? I watched him playing on Sky Sports a wee while back and he looked immense. what you say?
  9. Would imagine that this would mean going with Richie Byrne at left-back i reckon, if he's match fit. Keep Black and Cowie on and play Vigurs just behind the striker.
  10. He could be no worse than Barrowman surely. At least in this case we will hopefully be getting a striker with a proven record in the SPL. Terry Butcher so far has good ideas for players imo.
  11. When Brewster was first here home form was poor. when he returned it slowly got even worse. New manager means new things will happen, i agree. I can see a real turnaround in our home form coming.

    Brian Kerr

The most inevitable signing we could make. 3 Scotland caps and a previous Newcastle Utd apprentice is hardly a bad record though. Would quite like to see him here. He could certainly provide competition for Duncan or he is a replacement for Black.

    A New Era?

Indeed it is a new era, 2 years too late but it is a new era. Butcher certainly show's alot more personality than Brewster ever did in interviews and i have to admit that i didn't disagree with a word he said last night. Lets just hope results come now.

    cowie

I would have to agree there. If Brewster was still here i think Cowie may already have made other plans but now that Butcher is in i think we may keep him, at least until the end of the season.
  15. He was the best possible canditate who we could get and i'm fairly confident he can guide us away from relegation. Only one answer...yes.
  16. If any other club but Hearts had tried to prize Robbo away 4 seasons ago i'm convinced he would still be our manager now. I agree that if Butcher fails then bringing him back would be a sensible soloution but i'am positive about Butcher.

    Iain Vigurs

didnt he come from elgin??? He did, but strictly speaking when he joined he was drafted into our under 19 system as i recall therefore he did technically progress through our youth system.
  18. He was an international quality defender in his days though. Who know's, perhaps he can mould the misfits mentioned above into decent players although i wouldn't hold my breath
  19. I bet Brian Kerr will be one of our new signings now given he is on a free and was good player under Butcher at Motherwell. He defnitely needs to bring in a striker though, i wonder if Barry is the one allegedly returning??
  20. Esson Tokely, Munro, Mihadjuks, Hastings Morais, Cowie, Black, Imrie Vigurs Rooney bench. Fraser, McGuire, Byrne, Gathuessi, Duncan, Wood, Barrowman

He looked a changed man on Saturday. He was outstanding.

    Iain Vigurs

One of the brightest talents to emerge from our youth system in years. I disagree with the lack of going in for 50-50s. When he played against Rangers i recall him successfully disposessing Broadfoot and Steven Davis in challenges that some players wouldn't go in for. He carries a sweet left foot shot and cross and his set pieces are fairly impressive(apart from free-kicks )
  23. According to BBC Butcher has dropped the media commitments. I for one don't think we could have got any better as i think Terry Butcher was the best manager to select out of all who applied and all this talk of commitment to keeping us up is sad. What manager wouldn't do all within his power to get his team of the bottom??? I think all we can really do now is back the new coaching staff, get right behind the team and turn up in numbers on Sunday to try and put one over on our old foes from Parkhead.
  24. I certainly won't miss him for the next few games. He is well past his best now and has shown it the last couple of games and what he did on Saturday was just plain stupid. The only game he has played well in was the Partick game which i think highlights McBain is ready for lower league football.
