  1. Have you watched the BBC highlights yet? At one point in the second half, McGuire heads it straight to a Hamilton player, who's then through on goal, but fortunately he pulled his shot wide. I've no idea what Brewster sees in him, but whatever it is, I've certainly never seen it. I admit McGuire will never be an ICT legend and in general i don't think much of him either. But at this present time he is the only experienced centre half we have due to Munro's injury. And after Zadi signed i recall Brewster said he wouldn't sign another defender. Although after Saturday i hope that will change.
  2. zander made his league debut a year before that against Falkirk. He also played another game before that against Dunfermline...i remember that because he megged Sol Bamba
  3. I have to say for me McGuire was reasonably impressive yesterday. I thought he had a real no nonsense approach to the game and i didn't see any bloopers from him...and he was the only one that attempted to comfort Jamie Duff after the goal went in. Duff is young and that will have been a real learning curve for him. If Munro's out next week we may see him again although i'm sure the pesimists will have something to say about that. Theyd rather see lanky Lionel no doubt. But Duff will grow. I remember one of Christophe Berras errors as a 19 year old gave us a penalty which won us the game and look at him now...he's been called up to the Scotland squad for the third time and is one of the best touted defenders in the league...it just shows what a bit of growing up can do as a player.
  4. They won't have seen him even train yet. Unless Brewster hauled them all in this morning after their less than convincing performance on yesterday. For a guy needing a work permit 3 months is hardly a good idea.
  5. I think perhaps everyone should be given some time. There have been alot of changes over the summer to the squad and even they must find it hard with all that. And too me every player looked a bit slouchy yesterday. No one was at there best. And Brew defnitely got a thumbs down for the formation. I think provided he gets the service (another thing lacking) Barrowman will get us goals.

Brewsters 6 ft 1 so i would say Rooneys may'be a couple of inches taller. Also it says on sky sports that the fee could stretch from ?50,000 to ?75,000. If thats the case that would make him our record signing wouldn't it? Also says Stoke get a percentage of the sell on fee.

Round of applause for Grassa and Brewster really needs to come out because they really have pulled of a good deal here. Pleased that he has come to us, hopefully he can replicate the form of Anthony Stokes only the good bit is we don't have to send him back in January . Hopefully we will get to see him in action tomorrow. Overall a good day for ICT.
  8. Surely Hearts must have an illegal squad to field? I thought you weren't allowed more than 3 non E.U players in a first team squad? :thumb04: According to the P&J Brew wants to see Bechan in a game but can't? Thats why he has gone back and its very doubtful he will return. I hope Wagaluka is ok because if he isn't then alot of these trialists really will have been a waste of time..apart from Rooney. But it was the same with trialists last year.

I don't think Hastings is bad as a centre back...more unperdictable. I would like to see how Zadi is in a league game because i only ever saw him once in pre-season, plus thats why we signed him so McBain wouldn't have to play at left back. Has Rooney actually signed for us?
  10. Put Archie Gemmill in it and you couldn't tell between his and that.
  11. I've only watched McNulty twice and i have too say he looks really dodgy. Getting lobbed from 80 yards by a 40 year old keeper is bad. But handling a backpass against Clach is just stupid. He really needs first team football. Does anyone know if this Wagaluka guy is allowed to play in the reserves while being on trial?
  12. I ll believe Behcans gone when i read it in the paper. I hardly believe anything that MFR says.
  13. I gave my 5 points to Imrie. I know he didn't score (and probably should have) but he did nothing but wreek havoc on Aberdeen all day. He was quick and creative and always looked a threat cutting inside. Mulgrew couldn't handle him. 3 points went to Barrowman. After watching him play for Ross County i dubbed him as being too lazy for the SPL. But for a striker going 2 divisions up Brew really seems to have helped him up his work rate and overall game. And his predatory instincts didn't go unoticed when he bundled the ball in for the opener. McBain gets my solitary this week as he capped of a wonderful and historic afternoon by scoring a terrific finish after covering all of 80 yards to get it. He also seems to have worked on his finishing over pre-season because a year ago he woudln't have hit that well enough.
  14. gee whats a nice guy . It's nice to see at least someone in our sometimes effortless squad is ambitous.
  15. Hutton, Ferguson and Pearson are all injured for the game. I think Burley is seeing that the squad needs a bit of a freshen up because the likes of Dailly and Weir are so done.
  16. Its called a stutter.
  17. I do miss the old derby league games though. Although i would prefer them to come up rather than us to go down to get them back. Cos i know that if they did come up they would probably be relegated by xmas.
  18. The fact that we kept a clean sheet on saturday( by the skin of our teeth ) certainly won't encourage Brew to make any more defensive signings. I seem to recall him saying that Zadi would be his only defensive signing.
  19. As Andy Gray would say.......top drawer.
  20. I must say im impressed by Burley. He dosen't care if SPL players play for the old firm or not like previous managers...he simply picks them if there playing well for there team which i like. Bringing Kris Commons into the fold was a good idea...seen him play on telly, nippy wee player. Whatever happened to Quashie? He didn't play for West Ham at all last year. You would think he would have recovered by now.
  21. Says in the P&J today that were getting Rooney on a one year loan. Just a fee that needs to be sorted between the clubs. Also has Brewster quoted saying that Bechans on trial and that he is trying to bring Dan Wagaluka on trial as well. Promising times.
  22. No suprise that they want Gillespie too. Considering he scored one of the greatest goals ever against them last year. That Bechan guy looks ok on Youtube.
  23. I think it's safe to say that 2 of there 3 goals were fortunate..and as for he 3rd goal well everyone including Uniteds wally defence stopped and stood when Offiong slipped. Its as if they thought he had died or something. Take nothing away from there style of play though. Hopefully we may have a new face to introduce by Saturday. But if we play as well as Pittodrie and the fans get right behind the lads throughout the day im confident we can regain top spot.......boy it felt good to say that
  24. It does go to show that referees are more intimdiated about descions during a game involving the old firm. Alan Freeland did it with us against Celtic and he got plastered for it by Media...not by us though

Still the group huddle in front off booing Dons when McBain scored was priceless.
