Most Memorable Russell Duncan Moments
Pritty much every goal he ever scored for us cause most of them were spectacular. Met him once years ago when he helped take a group i was with on tour round the ground. Really nice, down to earth and genuine guy. The sort of guy you dont usually get in football. Good luck Russell.

Aberdeen -V- ICT : Matchday thread
Dire, dire, dire, dire, dire. I hope thats summed things up well. Without Foran, Hayes and Duncan, this side lacks any bite. We got pushed and bossed about by Aberdeen at times. Today things such as straight forward passes and first touches were forgotten about and we went back to the indecisive, pussyfooting ways. Despite one hurrendous error in the first half that fortunately was not grabbed by Paton the only player that really stood out for me was Kenny Gillet. He worked his socks off closing down attackers and doing his best to create stuff from the back. At one point he made 2 perfect tackles before playing a superb ball over the top for Rooney who struck it just wide of the post. Gillet himself also hit a cracking shot from about 35 yards which was inches of the top corner. The scrap between stewards and supporters reared its head again today and resulted in several supporters being thrown out, rather harshly. If fans are told to sit down then fair enough but all i will say is it would be rather hard to follow such a command when the home supporters are doing the exact same thing and are simply ignored by Stewards. For me the only positive to come out of it is the thought that i know we our better than this and hopefully are game will be sufficently upped for the visit of Celtic.

Russell Duncan & Grant Munro leaving
He better have someone good into replace him and no Brian Kerr or some unheard off does not count. I'm pritty sure stats will show that most of our wins this season have come with Russell being in the starting 11. I understand that Butcher wants to build his own team but chucking one of our most consistent performers of the last 2 seasons is not the answer.

Team for the 'Deen
Esson Duff, Hogg, Tokely, Gillet Ross, Cox, Duncan*, Doran Rooney, MacDonald Susb: Tuffey, Innes, Munro, Morrison, Sanchez*, Odhiambo, Sutherland Sanchez if he's fit should be on the bench And until i hear something conclusive about Duncan he goes in my starting 11

Russell Duncan & Grant Munro leaving
I've never been Russell's biggest fan but for me he has been one of our best players in the last 2 seasons. He has done the task of shoring up our midfield and protecting our defence very well. For me the mistake has been never giving him a midfield partner with better attacking skills as i think some like that next to him would make it almost the perfect midfield. As has been said letting him go would be a huge mistake. I think Butcher would be hard pushed to find someone as capable and as committed to the cause as Russeldinho. Butcher talks about having to win ugly all the time...well then he needs a guy like Duncan in his team. To you at ICT, i hope my thoughts have been made clear to you on this matter.

Roll call for Aberdeen
Me plus 3, looking forward too it!.

Innes leaving at end of season
He'll be turning 35 in the summer and hasn't impressed that well here (without playing badly either) so i don't agree with him being able to pick up a decent SPL side, Dunfermline possibly as they maybe looking for some experience but when he signed for us last summer we were fighting off teams like Queens, Partick and Dundee for his signature. Someones been on Wikipedia...

Hibs releases, possible signings?
Foran, Hayes, Duff, Hogg, Black, Morais, Cox, Esson, Dargo, could go back as far as the likes of Wyness. We are great at getting these players sorted out.
-
Innes leaving at end of season
Has done his service when called upon. Good luck to him next season.

Hibs releases, possible signings?
Rankin was great at ICT and like many who come up here will be in need of a new lease of life. We also miss a midfielder of his qualities. He was great at getting forward and was a dangerous set piece taker. I'd have him back in a flash. Nish for me could be someone worth looking at too. As mentioned he was always a handful against us and is in need of a fresh start too.

Team for Saints
Esson Duncan, Hogg, Munro, Gillet Sutherland, Cox, Ross, Doran Foran, Rooney Subs: Tuffey, Innes, Golabek, Morrison, Blumenshtein, MacDonald, Odhiambo.

Richie Foran
He's racked up a fair amount of miles has Mr Foran. Quite a story.

ICT -V- Hearts : Matchday Thread
Having looked at the highlights anyone else reckon Foran's header was over the line? Could simply add it to the number of other screwed up decisions that Allan and co got wrong. Having read some of the morning papers it seems like Crawford Allan wasn't the only ref in Scotland coming in for serious criticism.

ICT -V- Hearts : Matchday Thread
Point but could have been three. Goal from Doran was a great start, didnt have a good view of the potential penalty. Duff made an excellent goal line clearence on half time. Referee was dire. So much was either not noticed or judged wrong. The throw in that led to Hearts goal was several feet from where the ball actually went out of play. Also Foran had a header that looked over the line. Hearts had struck the crossbar earlier but the game was still relatively open. Tokely's red was Cox giving the ball away cheaply. Dont think Rosscoe needed to take the boy out but he did and as soon as he did you knew he would go. A point isn't a bad result by any means but 3 were defnitely there for the taking.

SPL Player of the year
Goodwillie was charged and is currently awaiting conviction but we're getting off topic here. For me Eremenko is defnitely player of the year. Certainly the most gifted footballer i've seen play in the SPL in a long time. Great touch, passing, vision and shooting ability. I'm guessing he will be in the Championship or Premier League next season. The young player award is quite hard to pick.

The race to the SPL
Dunfermline for me. Got more quality and experience about them.
-
Hayes out for rest of the season
It has its pros and its cons. Johnny is a key player and his presence in the team will have an influence on where we finish this season. However on the other hand he had no pre season training last summer through injury and by getting the surgery now would mean he would be fit for when the team re group in July.

Dubious Honour (sp)
They deal with players in a very bizarre fashion. They sign heeps of players, some get chucked after a few games, some are there till the end of the season. They really seem to lack stability in terms of a playing roster. Paixao has been an important player for them at times and to get rid of him with a few games left seems a bit strange. They also bought Casalinuovo. That seems a waste as well. They must be getting ready to cut the team and prepare for Division 1 i think.

Alba cup final
He took his time about it though. If any of the defenders had been doing their job they just might have got back in time to block or at least put pressure which might have caused him to pull it wide from 2 foot. If i was a Queens defender i would be wondering why Hutton felt the need to take so many touches.

Gros just missed a sitter.

Kilmarnock -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
Was just about to say the same thing, Munro dropped as well. Can't remember ever seeing that happen.

Graham Bayne
Noticed Dunfermline have dished him out a contract to the end of the season. I'm glad they took him back. I hope all works out for him.

Positions/Players Needed for Next Season
Duncan and Munro are not signed up for next season. I would like most of the squad to stay together but those i want gone would be Innes, Odhiambo, Blumenshtein, McBain and Golabek. Innes is past his best, Odi and Blumenshtein are unrequired passengers and Golie and McBain are far too old. Butcher has hardly used them which speaks volumes. I think Sanchez is defnitely worth retaining. He had shown in the games he played that he defnitely has a bit of quality to offer. For me we need a new right back, a new center midfielder with an attacking approach, a left winger and a faster striker.

What did John Boyle say
What i want to know is why he was even down on the dugout. No offence but that is not the typical place for a chairman. Was he even allowed to be down there?

Team for Killie
Esson Tokely, Hogg, Munro, Gillet Hayes, Cox, Duncan, Doran Foran, Rooney Subs: Tuffey, Innes, Duff, Ross, Sutherland, MacDonald, Odhiambo. If the team are as serious as they say they are about still going for a top 6 place then this is a must win. Kilmarnock are missing the prolific ways of Sammon and Taouil who is crocked. I think we are playing them at the right time.
