  1. He was excellent tonight. But with the guard of honour at full time i'd say it is unlikely he will be here. Really hope im wrong though.
  2. Poor game but 2-0 win means it was at least worthwhile. Nick Ross was long overdue a goal but it was a cracking finish. Hibs looked like a depleted and burnt out team. They are in need of a real shake up. Actually felt quite sad at the end of the game. Its the end of an era for the long term servants, and by the looks of it theres no real chance of a reprise for Granty. It'll be the first time i've ever seen a Caley squad that didn't contain Duncan, Munro or McBain. On the plus side the performances of Sutherland and Ross tonight did show that the future is bright for us in terms of emerging talent. Roll on next season.
  3. Tade was released yesterday by Raith, along with 14 other players.
  4. Well thats put a dampner on the weekend. I wanted it to be us to pull the trigger. Oh yeah and to all you Accies out there.....
  5. Keogh was a fantastic player up until he sustained that injury. He was our for so long and just wasn't the same player when he came back.
  6. It's great having 2 quality keepers.
  7. No doubt about it. He has been the most dependable, consistent and regular performer this season. We would not be where we were if it was'nt for Esson and he has proven he can play well under pressure with the quality of Tuffey breathing down his neck.
  8. I say yes. He needs to prove his quality for a second season in top flight. I think he will sign for next season and maybe leave next January.
  9. Tuffey Duff, Tokely, Munro, Gillet Sutherland, Cox, Ross, Doran Foran, Rooney Subs: Esson, Innes, Golabek, Morrison, Sanchez, MacDonald, Odhiambo
  10. Is this game behind closed doors?
  11. BBC reporting that Brentford have made an approach for Derek McInnes. Would be a huge loss to them if he goes.
  12. Just seen the BBC highlights. Should have been a penalty and should NOT have been a red. A booking for both as they shoved each other. but one literally is as bad apart from when Mair fakes getting KO'd. Defnitely grounds for an appeal.
  13. Not a spectacle to remember but another win and well deserved win on our part. Butcher's strong bench is what did the trick, MacDonald contributed very little and Odhiambo almost nothing, Rooney nearly got goal of the season with his first effort, was a swiveling overhead kick that cannoned off the bar. Took his goal well, lost his marker and found the corner from a long ball. Russell should not have been sent off. Happened right in front of me. Both he and Mair should have been booked for their scrap, Russell made the mistake of pushing Mair but Mair had a hold of Russell and it was a penalty in first place! Poor Russell was devastated as he left the pitch but recieved a standing ovation as he left. St Mirren have to be the worst team i've seen here all season. Even at 10 men we looked the better team and continued to press. The attacks they offered were easily dealt with. I still hope Butcher is reconsidering Munro's future. He gave another solid performance today and held the line together well. Also thought Tuffey had a solid display when called upon.

    Referee

Can only echo whats been said. Thought the ref had a great game in the circumstances. His linesman however...

    Gillet

Can only wonder how much better the season could have got if Gillet had been fit all season.
  16. Pritty sure Wyness was transfer listed before hitting form.
  17. Just listened to the full interview with Butcher, kinda half hinting at the possibilty of reviewing his decison...either that or he has decieved me . I really hope he re thinks this.
  18. Can you not just enjoy this result?
  19. Here, here and aye
  20. He has surely justified his cause tonight for a new contract. He could have not bothered his arse with half of the defending he did tonight but we all know he is better than that and that for me is the reason why he should stay. At least give him a year Butcher.
  21. What an incredible night of football. Every player played for the team tonight and took full advantage of the position we were in. Celtic may be able to play smart football at times but their lack of experience in this type of game really showed tonight. Full marks for everyone tonight, not one player had a bad game in anyway but no one played better than Grant Munro...please, please, please Butcher re think this move that you are about to make. I'am a very proud Caley Thistle supporter tonight, having watched yet another make shift team produce a magical performance against arguably the best side in the league. Its what seperates us from the rest.
  22. P&J says Rooney has only been offered a 1 year contract. Seems a tad short sighted to me.
  23. Only one that suprised me was Hogg but heard he was looking to go back South so nothing can be done there. I'm dissapointed about Sanchez but i think he will benefit from a fresh start. All that can really be said is that this is a massive gamble taken by Butcher and i sincerely hope that it pays off. We've let go a real combination of players here. Just hope its the right thing to do.
  24. Rooney has been offered a new contract according to the Courier and it implies that Stuart Duff will also be offered new terms as well.
  25. A club of our size can't really afford to throw out 3-4 year deals here, there and everywhere because there is no certainty that the money will be there in 3 years time. The club are being cautious with their money and quite frankly i support that. One thing they can be credited with is not plundering us into administration through overspending. So if 2 year deals is the best we can offer then thats just the way it is.
