As heard from a variety of different sources within and outwith the club, the players can't stand Thomson. Brewster asked the players when he came back what they though of Thomson returning and they voiced their opinion then but Brewster ignored them and appointed him anyway. Its pretty obvious there is disharmony in the dressing room and it would appear that Brewster has lost any respect the players had for him lately, Ian Black had to find out from the boot boy that he wasn't travelling to Falkirk last week and it was nothing to do with his shoulder! Get rid of the both of them!

He may have been born in Wick but he definitely grew up in Helmsdale, I lived there when he was younger.

I didn't see the interview, did he explain why he said he was stepping down because of the growth of his company? It seems he's admitting now, which many of us suspected, it was due to David Sutherland's involvement. Personally I think having Sutherland in control albeit in a puppet master role is the best thing for us, we were in the best place we've been when he was chairman and things have been on the slide since he left.

Maybe its a ploy to get more punters through the gates, offering lap dances at half time!

Is this definitely 3pm on the 12th Jan? The reason I'm asking is that Hearts are at home at the same time and there's a rugby match at Murrayfield at 3.30pm. Would the police allow these 3 matches to be on at the same time?

Is Brew still the right man for the job?
Queen Beastie replied to Pele_Is_God's topic in Caley Thistle
100% no, never was! -
I think history is repeating itself, with us becoming the Dundee United when Brewster took over. I think he was really found out at United, he didn't have a clue how to turn things round and more fool our board for thinking things would be different with us. Yes Brewster was relativley successful with us first time round but that was because he inherited a decent squad, we may not have been high up the table at the time but the foundations were there. At United he inherited a disfunctional, disorganised squad where no one really knew what was going on. He wasn't a good enough manager to see what was wrong and be able to change it, in the end he was sacked and a real manager came in. Levin has turned that club around without changing too many of the squad. This season we are that disfunctional, disorganised squad and once again Brewster's lack of managerial ability is highly obvious, he doens't have the talent and know how to turn this around, we need him out sooner rather than later because we will be scrapping at the bottom for the rest of the season if not. Gretna have the means to strengthen in the January window and we don't, well not to the same extent they do. If something doesn't happen soon I really think we'll be playing Division 1 football next season.

Brewster should take a leaf out of Sam Allardyce's book. On Saturday Newcastle were down 3-0 after 14 mintues. He hooked one of his defenders who was having a nightmare just after the 3rd. He was the first one to admit the team selection was a mistake and rectified it, yes they still ended up getting pumped 4-1 but at least he has the balls to change things early on.

As I said he can only influence a game when he's on the park, he brought himself on against Hearts and scored the winner. A decent influence I would say. Last night he didn't have himself to play and seemed like he didn't have a clue how to change things, we played the same way right up until the end.
-
The defence was woeful and the midfield non exisitent, they were following the game plan set out by Brewster which was seriously flawed and it cost us 3 cheap goals. But to not change things at half time was a big mistake, we needed something different and that just didn't happen. I honestly don't think Brewster has got a clue how to change tactics mid way through a game. And to go on the radio afterwards and say we played superb is an absolute joke!
-
Well I said it when we took him back and I'll say it again, he is a useless manager who can only influence a game when he's on the park. Last night his lack of managerial ability was very clear to see, the first half performance was absolutely shocking and we gifted 3 goals to Aberdeen. We couldn't break down their defence the way we were playing and what does he do? Nothing, absolutely nothing! The game was screaming out for Morgan a guy who can actually cross a ball but he waits until ten mintues before the end and brings on 3 subs which has absolutely no effect at that late stage.

I've decided against going, just don't have the motivation now to travel up from Aberdeen. It may be a different story if I had a season ticket or even just lived in Inverness but I don't know.

Petition against Craig Brewster returning to ICT
Queen Beastie replied to KingBeastie's topic in Caley Thistle
Its just a bit of fun, we all know these things don't get taken seriously!! It'll be interesting to see how many people do sign though. -
Good!!

It will definitely make me think twice about making a 200 odd mile round trip every other weekend. I just can't see Brewster being a success, he was lucky when he was here the first time the only thing he brought in was fitness. As I've said a few times his contribution as player made him look good as a manager. I was never a fan when he was here before anyway, our style of play was so boring and really awful to watch. I firmly believe that if we go for him again we'll certainly be fighting relegation this season.
-
Case against:- He's a w@nker and a cr@p manager!!!
-
Maybe slightly OTT but I see your point. I'm against Brewster coming back and I'm planning on going to the game this weekend travelling up from Aberdeen but I won't be going if he's the manager, can't see me having much motivation to make the trip very often in the future either. I'll still support the team just won't have as much enthusiasm.
-
Brewster's goals got us closer to the top 6 than any other manager, not his ability to manage. He would be the worst choice IMHO.
-
Brewster is not a good manager and I would be disappointed if he came back. Brewster the player made Brewster the manager look good. It was clear to see at Dundee Utd how poor a manager he was, they were awful and as he was injured he didn't have an influence on the park. When he was at ICT we only really played well when Brewster played well, the whole team was set up to suit his style of play. It didn't work without him and as he's not got much playing time left I can't see him doing even a half decent job. I'd be gutted if we made him manager, I wouldn't stop supporting the team but I think I'd really lack a realy enthusiasm with him at the helm. I've no idea who we should look to, I'm sure there will be plenty of candidates putting their name forward and I just hope we can get someone who can do a good job and bring ICT forward.

St Mirren to go down, can't stand them! And wouldn't it be fitting if Rossco got the goal that sent them down?!! However I would fear for his safety if that happened!!!
-
Great player, always singing his praises. As said in one of the papers last weekend, he's Mr Muscle, loves the jobs you hate!! He rarely gets noticed due to the role he plays but he deserves plaudits for the amount of grafting he does. The main turing point in the Celtic game for me was when he went off, he was absorbing anything they had and then it went pair shaped when he was subbed. And what a goal! Loved the celebration as well!!!
-
In my opinon we lost the game today because Duncan went off. Celtic were there for the taking and we blew it, we effectively beat ourselves!
-
Seems a strange one, Marshall has just left on loan in order to get games can't see Mark forcing his way in ahead of Boruc if Marshall couldn't. I suppose money talks!! I have complete faith in Fraser and I really hope he commands the No1 shirt for years to come.

Source?? Is he away now?
