If I, or anyone on this forum, was out there having to play the game then you'd get 100% agreement from me. But we're not, so I'll continue to look more towards the positives and potential for the season whilst blowing raspberries at the harbingers of doom and gloom. If that leaves me with egg on my face come the end of the season...meh, who cares, at least I can say I enjoyed it at the time.

Excellent....now we're working out all the ways we can fail....on a thread about how we should be looking upwards!!!

ICT U20 vs Celtic U20
The decision to postpone was based on the predicted weather and protecting the pitch, as well as the potential for hazardous travel conditions. I got a look at the pitch on Sunday and (to my untrained eye) it looked pretty decent. I doubt there would have been any issue holding a game on it as it stood then.

I like the banter with the C*unty fans, but it is just that...banter. Ultimately I couldn't give a toss what they achieve this season (or any other season) and I'm certainly not letting it have any bearing on how I go about supporting ICT or enjoying what we are doing. For those who are concerned with our near neighbours, or want to hold their achievements in high regard......bear in mind that they are achieving thanks to Uncle Roys wallet, although the existence of side companies which hold in excess of £2.5 Million of debt suggest he's maybe not dipping as far into his pocket as some might have you believe!!! People seem to have short memories...a quick look at the rise and fall of teams like Livingston and Gretna should be warning enough that such things are not sustainable. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them - Ephesians 5:11

I "slagged" nothing, I disagreed with a viewpoint and stated why. I also disagree with the viewpoint that we have "put the breaks on". Realistically, we were as high as we could expect to be and then had a bit of a bad spell. Had we kept on banging our head against that wall and results kept going the same way then we'd all be slating the team/manager for not changing things. The situation needed change, we adapted and in our last 4 games have managed to stop the rot....surely that's progress? Today was perhaps a missed opportunity, but I'm satisfied that what could easily have been a loss on a day when we weren't playing as sharp as we know we can, was turned into a point. If ICT fans need more than what has been delivered this season to get them excited about the club/team then we're as well packing it all in now. This season is something special....regardless of how it ends....none of us has any right (as fans) to downplay what has and is being accomplished Those who are sitting there, for whatever reason, refusing to get excited about it are only depriving themselves of the enjoyment they should be partaking in....and dragging others in to that along with them.

I dunno....10 wins, 14 draws and 54 goals....I'd say there's plenty of success in that for us to be shouting about. You can add in our sitting so high in the league for so long, our improved performance in the cups this season, being safe from relegation before the split and not having lost in 4 derby matches. If fans aren't allowed to get a bit excited and carried away on the back of that....then as I said earlier in the thread.....what's the point? One minute it's "Our fans are too quiet, they don't get excited enough or create enough atmosphere". As soon as some people start doing that it's "Oh sit down and be quiet, we've achieved nothing yet".....give me a fecking break!!!!

Dundee -V- ICT
6 of their last 8 games have been at home, on a pitch that is nothing short of diabolical and gives them a clear advantage against all visitors. The 2 away games were against Dundee when they were at rock bottom, and before the "new manager bounce" and Aberdeen who's pitch would have felt like home to them. Also need to keep in mind that two of those games should have been played before they were able to strengthen in the transfer window....games postponed by state of their pitch, so another advantage from it being screwed up. Let's see how they perform next week on a proper pitch where their opponents can get the ball down on the deck and play some football against them. My prediction is that we'll well and truly put them back in their box with a lesson on how the game is played on a level (quite literally) playing field.

Sorry, I support ICT so I can big them up, sing their praises and celebrate every bit of success throughout the season. If we went by the logic in your post then we'd be as well only bothering to turn up for the game before the split and the final game of the season and/or sitting silently for the rest of the year....and it's that kind of mentality that makes it so hard to create a proper atmosphere at TCS at times. Leave the whole "keeping your feet on the ground" thing to the team, it's what they're paid to do.

Clacher, you're talking about the team....and you are right, that is how they should be approaching it. Fans, however, should be shouting from the rooftops about how well we are doing....if we can't do that, then what's the point of it all!!!

There's a whole "let's not get excited incase we jinx it and it all goes wrong" thing that's a bit annoying. Preview went up on the official site this evening and people were all over it because it dared suggest that we should be winning the game....wtf!!! We are REALLY bad at talking ourselves up. Don't think it's an ICT thing, or an ICT fans thing...more of a Highlands thing...but we need to get over it and enjoy what we've achieved and could potentially achieve.

Newport fan in peace
ICT fans are a fairly decent bunch and, with a few exceptions, tend not to judge incoming players on where they have come from and more on what they see for themselves when the player takes to the field in an ICT shirt....especially at the start of this season when we had a lot of new faces come in, many of the "unknown" to us. Warrens biggest asset was the fact that he quickly got to grips with the game up here and within a few games he looked like he'd been playing in an ICT shirt for years and not weeks. This point really sunk in for me last Saturday when I was standing talking to some of the local press/media guys and they were talking about the importance of his "experience"!!! For a player who (I think?) only had 1 year of full time football before coming to us, that perception of him speaks volumes.

The "Signed Up For Next Season" Thread
As stated already, players can only move if the club accept payment for the remainder of their contract. However, I don't think that's the point here...the point is we now have some of our most influential players stating that they WANT to be here by signing extensions. Just as important is the fact that there's others who are stating that they WANT new contracts. You then have the cherry on the top with a manager who refused (substantially) more money to go manage elsewhere and who is positively talking about what he is going to do with his guys next season. How/Why anyone would see that as a negative and choose to try and put a dampener on it is beyond me. I'm not naive and I appreciate that there's the potential for offers to come in for players...but I'd far rather we were in the position we are where offers would HAVE to be made, than in a position where players were looking for pre-contracts for next season and/or walking away for nothing!!!

Mr Romanov is Off!
Heard mention that Dunfermline have a bigger wage bill than we do. If that's the case, then imagine that would be the biggest contributing factor to their current financial woes.

SPL Fans United
I dream of a day when, as fans, we can get back to not having to worry about the direction that football is being steered in. Could you imagine it, heading along to games at 3pm on a Saturday where your only worry was the happenings on the pitch and then heading off to the pub to discuss the performance of the players and not whether some conspiracy is behind every little thing that takes place in the game!!!
