Was so blatant that no video replay should have been needed.
-
You can't appeal a yellow card as far as I am aware.
-
Having just seen the footage....it was a stonewaller.
-
Everyone where I was sitting thought it was a penalty....even the C*unty fans who couldn't believe their luck.
-
No, but if the proposal goes through then finances will become a bit more stable and we'll have a structure under which moves can be made to change the game in the direction it needs to go. Stick with the Status Quo and we can just keep discussing it year after year while nothing changes and fans continue to drift away from the game.

I wasn't slating them because of ticket sales, I was slating the inaccuracy of their claims that they had sold out.
-
What's your point? We hadn't claimed a sell-out.
-
What exactly will be contested I'm not sure they've decided yet....but "talk" seems to be that all three of the 8 team leagues will get some kind of cup/shield/pennant.
-
Will this be online too? Doesn't look like it. The SPL match available online is St. Mirren v Celtic. Or Scottish cup game between Hamilton and Falkirk. Not easy being a far flung supporter although the availability of youtube highlights the same evening of the game is a plus. I'd trade that in for live commentary any day. Wish the club did their own live streaming commentary. Last time I tried MFR on iphone app it didn't work. Might have to look at it again for tomorrow. The new ICT "Media Team" only really came into being for online content this season, thanks to the YouTube deal. We've concentrated this season (so far) on fulfilling the compulsory requirements of that, but do hope to build on the resources available to provide more things in future....including live streaming commentary. Not able to make any promises of when stuff might start happening, but it is on the wish/to-do list.

Looks like a change of kit supplier and sponsor for next season means we'll have two new shirts to buy.....
-
That's part of the issue... Current SPL clubs will not accept the addition of a play-off under the current set-up as you then risk 2 clubs falling off that financial cliff. They also won't accept the new financial distribution model as that would involve just handing cash over to another organisation and who's to say it would be used as intended then?
-
Not going to happen. The bottom 4 have their league money "frozen" at the point where the split happens. i.e. If you are 9th come the split then you get the cash for that position come the end of the season. With the financial difference between 9th and 12th being about £250k...are they really going to stop trying? Clubs are free to sell season tickets in any way they wish, but nobody seems to be giving any indication that they would do any different than they do now. You fall in to the minority in regards to not wanting play-offs The game is losing fans now, and part of the reason people are giving is that the current system is boring and stale. The ONLY change that has any chance of being voted through right now is what is on the table. It may not deliver a product that is immediately going to reverse the trend, but it does deliver a system which is able to change with far more efficiency in future. If nothing is done now then we'll find ourselves sitting in 12 months time with further reduced crowds, having the same discussions and still getting nowhere. Take a look at the league table...take a look where we currently sit...take a look at which positions are giving up the most with the proposed changes to financial distribution. Does that really look like we are a club making decisions purely on the basis of money?
-
I remember them trying to tell us they sold out the last one....more than a few invisible people over the bridge if that was the case
-
As things are....then yes, I agree. However....under the proposed set up with the new financial distribution, then the gap between bottom of the top league and top of the middle league will start to close and the play-off league actually becomes anyone's for the taking.

I'm not sure it's entirely accurate to say that Terry and Kenny have contrasting views...more like contrasting priorities. There's no secret in the fact that Kenny (and the club board) would prefer to see a larger league, but they also have to balance the books and provide Terry with the budget he gets for the playing side of things. The club might be able to do that so long as we stay in the SPL (not just this season, but beyond) and if you take a look at the following graph (from the presentation on league reconstruction, full document attached), then where does that budget come from if we get relegated under the current setup? We didn't have the figures to put on the graph at the time, but that drop shows the difference between existing (£68k) and proposed figure (£387k). Last time we got relegated the club had close to £1 Million in the bank....it cost us every penny of that, and more, to bounce back....and the club is nowhere close to recovering the losses. Relegation for us (and many other clubs) under the current setup would be disastrous. Obviously, as the manager, Terry isn't going to contemplate or talk about the "what if" of relegation as that would be admitting the possibility of him "failing"....and nor should he. Club boards/chairmen don't have the luxury of ignoring the worst case scenario and have no option but to give heavy consideration to the finances. In saying all that, I also don't think it's purely about the finances for Kenny and the board either. The new proposals, as was highlighted in the presentation, bring about a lot more....and the most important thing is a corporate structure that is more open and capable of change. So, if a couple of seasons down the line it's proven that the proposed 12-12-18 is not working, then change doesn't need 11/1 votes in it's favour and any proposals for a larger league would, at least, have a chance of getting passed on a majority decision. If anything, Terry has an opinion which contrasts that of the fans. For (at least) 3 seasons now we have done nothing but complain about the current setup and how boring it is. Yet here we are presented with the opportunity for change and all of a sudden the current setup is the best thing since sliced bread. In effect, those choosing "Terry" in the above poll are saying "we were wrong and have been wrong all along"....if that's the case, then what makes you think you are all of a sudden right now? Or maybe, for some, it's more about voting against the establishment...regardless of what plans they put forward!!! cjt_reconstruction.pdf

2 year extension for Warren...so he'll be here until 2015. Hopefully news on some others still to come.
-
Only pointless if you see no pride in winning the current 3rd Division and getting the trophy that comes along with it. For a man who's done a lot of shouting about how important titles are and wanting to hold on to them, it seems a little strange that he would see "The Rangers" first real title as being worthless.
-
If this proposal is voted in, then the "transition" will work as follows..... Bottom of the SPL relegated Top of Div 1 Promoted No relegation from Div 1 Top of Div 2 Promoted Div 2 teams 2, 3, 4, & 5 play-off for second promotion spot.

We expanded the content within the slideshow to remove the need for additional commentary....happy to answer any questions you have on here.
-
Yes, which is exactly the same as happens in any play-off situation....everyone starts from a level footing.

Don't shoot the feckin messenger!!!

No reason why it wouldn't be allowed.

That's exactly what the law/legislation says. Anything you say, type, write etc if heard/viewed by someone who might portray it as a "message of hate" whether aimed at them or not is covered.
-
Don't have the papers to hand, but I believe the legislation is worded as "Could cause offence to any reasonable person". Has it been blown out of proportion? Perhaps...but that's more a sign of the times than any particular desire on the part of the police or the club to stifle banter. It seems that there's more and more people every day who find more and more things offensive. The police, as public servants, can only do their job as it is laid out to them and when new legislation comes and things change then they have to act on it. It irks me as much as it does some of you on this thread that the country/world seems to have gone mad in this regard...but there's not much can be done about it. If we choose to dig our heels in and ignore the advice given, then we can have no complaints if we then have to face the consequences. In the grand scheme of things, what are we being asked to "give up" here? One line from a song/chant that says "Dirty Gypsy B*stards"....is it really worth making all that much fuss over? Do we really want to push the limits by trying to come up with alternatives that, in reality, would be just as likely to fall foul of the law? Nobody likes being told they can't do something...certainly not me...but I'm sure we'll find something else to sing/chant instead that gets under their skin even more and which can't be construed as "hateful" by anyone...reasonable thinking or not. The Highlands Are Ours - Forever In Our Shadow - Hello Down There - Pride of the Highlands....all far more effective these days than any Gypsy related banter.
