  1. Fair weather supporter?
  2. I reckon we could see a few, yeah.
  3. Not sure I can take the strain...!!!
  4. I often get that "Talking to myself" feeling as well.
  5. Not sure I understand the "meh" attitude from some people right now. Fully appreciate that cost will be a factor for some and work/kids/travel etc preventing others....but surely if those things aren't an issue and you're a fan then you wouldn't want to be missing out on anything that involves the team right now. I can see us getting to the end of this season and a lot of fans having a lot of regrets because, through choice, they missed out on much of it. Guys and Girls....it's not going to last forever, certainly not if people don't support the tea/club when they are on a high. Get yer erse down there (if able) and cheer on the lads.
  6. You might want to be careful with the wording of your joke about smoke bombs....people have had police visits for less.
  7. Sorry mate but having seen the scorch marks on the grass they were not harmless. I must agree with Dougal on this. There is no place for any pyrotechnics in our game. I have a friend who was badly burned by similar smoke bombs and I dont want to see that happen to any of our fans, All it takes is for the thrower to mis-throw and someone gets burned. Those weren't scorch marks, they were just powder residue as the items used were "cold-burning". In saying that, the stewards etc are not to know straight off what the item was, or how safe/unsafe it was to approach and dispose of it...and as such need to treat all such items in the same manner, and that includes dealing with the person/s responsible in the same fashion (if caught). Members of Caley Jags Together board have spoken with the clubs safety officer and whilst we don't know who it was, we've passed around a message about the consequences of being caught and believe they have reached the necessary ears. Just so everybody knows...if you are caught in possession of and/or deploying such items at a football match, then not only are you risking a weekend in the cells, you risk a custodial sentence from the courts. You can argue the rights and wrongs of that all you like...that is the facts of the matter and it's not the clubs or stewards who impose these rules/laws, it's the police and courts. You've had your "fun", fortunately nobody was hurt/injured (never mind any risk of burning and I wouldn't fancy being hit by an object that size) and you were lucky not to have been caught (yet)....but don't push your luck and let's not have a repeat of it. ICT is riding high at the moment and there's so much to be positive about that it's almost dreamlike. We don't want/need anything tarnishing that.
  8. As I pointed out on that post on Facebook....this is not "new/additional" money, we generally get something every year. So, all in all, pretty much a non-story and the press just filling space.
  9. You'd be quite wrong. Unlikely to ever see him using Social Media stuff personally, but he's no technophobe and has a fairly decent understanding of the subject.
  10. There's normally the first of the punters in there about 1:30pm, but think the bar itself may be open slightly earlier (about 1:00pm) although they do have a license that allows opening from 11am so if there was demand and the club were asked in advance then I am sure they'd look after you. Could probably do with getting the details up on the official website so I'll chase that up when I'm down at the Stadium in a bit.
  11. What we talk about in this thread is the SPL plan. I can't see the SFL agreeing with it, so it won't happen. What the SPL are proposing here is a plan which does not depend on acceptance by the SFL. What will happen is that the SFL will be left with 18 registered teams and a decision on what to do to accommodate them. IMO, they will have little/no option but to put a regional/pyramid system in place. Not how I would like to have seen things progressing, and it would be nice if everyone could get around the table and leave self interest at the door but that is never going to happen and the only people (other than the SFA) in a position to push through change...even if not necessarily exactly the change we all want...are the SPL. The only alternative is to do nothing and watch the game continue it's slow agonising demise.
  12. Oh bugger....will I have to remove the saltire from the CTO logo?
  13. You're best speaking to the stadium, but as I understand it an invite will go out to DFC Supporters Society asking how many they would like access for....hopefully they would contact all the relevant supporters groups before replying. However, there's nothing to stop you enquiring directly if there's a group of you wanting to make use of it. The important thing is that the club can demonstrate that they have some knowledge of who is in there so that it can be traced back should anything happen (not likely). As you're pretty much an honorararary ICT fan I'd hope you wouldn't have an trouble getting in.
  14. I'm just a tad upset that the poll wasn't more conclusive!!!
  15. Having spoken to the club about our options for this we have taken the decision to postpone the match. The club have been very helpful, but we feel that it's a no-brainer for us to postpone. We'd far rather the ground staff have the extra day to prepare the pitch for the Cup Replay on Tuesday night, ensuring it is the best it can be following Saturdays SPL match versus Hibs. The onset of the winter weather can make this a tough task at the best of times. Unfortunate, but we're certain you will all understand and agree with our decision. We won't be beaten and will look talk to Tommy and Kenny about options for the re-re-scheduled match in due course.
  16. booooooooooooo
  17. You could have just posted the link - http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2012/dec/01/german-fan-owned-clubs-bundesliga
  18. I don't think we did give up in the Motherwell game. The effort was there from the whole team, they just couldn't pull it together.. The attitude comes from the fact that, IMO, this is the closest knit squad we have ever had and every player is out there battling for themselves and everyone else. Terry has a squad that he has built himself and he hadn't allowed (and been happy to get rid of) anyone that doesn't fit in, pull their weight or play their part. You can actually see a visible change in Butcher as well....he's lost a lot of his "Mr Angry" side. Any rants this season have been born from frustration....but most of the time is spent trying to peel him off the ceiling for good reasons. Davie Balfour talks about it a bit in the MFR Fanzone Podcast from last week....he's of the belief that this is a team that has gelled earlier and quicker than many (including Butcher) expected, and... scarily... we've yet to see the best of them. I think he's right.
  19. I vaguely remember seeing something about points being halved and some explanation to the logic for that, but can't recall the details.
  20. Purely opinion, but I get the feeling that the SPL is coming around in terms of the ridiculousness of the current criteria. We're seeing a lot of talk, and pilots, for standing and it's been a while since I've seen or heard of any communication from the SPL about cracking down on standing. Once they get over that issue, then the argument for high numbers of seats in all-seater stadiums has to go with it....and whilst I think it'll be a long time before they allow a return of terracing, I do think we'll see a move towards "you need all seater, but it's up to you to decide how many seats you want/need". There's already been some talk of doing away with the need for special safe standing seats and trials of designated standing areas being allowed (subject to local authority and police agreement) within current structures/setups.....although I would qualify that by saying that I await written confirmation on this point from the person (Paul Godwin, head of Supporters Direct) who talked about it at the recent Fans Parliament night at TCS.
  21. Bit reluctant to try and second guess and go on press peculation/rumour....but from the (little) info out there..... At start of season you have two leagues of 12 After 2 rounds of games (playing each other once home and away) league splits into 3 leagues of 8 Top 8 from SPL 1 make up top league Bottom 4 from SPL1 + Top 4 from SPL2 make up middle league Bottom 8 from SPL2 make up lower league At end of season Top 4 from middle league join top 8 to make SPL1 for next season Bottom 4 from middle League and Top 4 from lower league make up first 8 in SPL2 Bottom 2 from lower league are relegated Places 5 & 6 go in to a play off situation 2 Promoted teams + 2 from Play Offs join SPL2 for next season. After "split" the top league keep all points earned to that point After "split" the lower league keep all points earned to that point Unsure how points situation will work for the middle league There would be 3 titles awarded, one for winner of each of the post split leagues This would leave the SFL to do pretty much as they wished with the 18 teams left from the existing 42...my guess is that they would have little option other than to go down the route of a league of 10 and regional/pyramid below that. It's not for the SPL to dictate and given how difficult it seems to be to come to a consensus, then I don't think the SPL should even make any suggestions. It's the money distribution model that will make for the most interesting reading, IMO, and it would have to be evened out a fair bit to keep the SPL competitive across both leagues. Sponsorship of leagues raises another question and it could only work with a single company sponsoring everything due to the move from 2 leagues to 3 leagues mid-season. Repetition of fixtures would remain in top and lower leagues after the split....but interest should be maintained by the chase for Europe (in top league) and fighting away from relegation/playoff (in lower league).
  22. Hard to get excited about the draw until..... a. The replay is taken care of, and.... b. We get a bit closer to the date. At the moment it's all a bit "Meh"!!!
  23. ....not what I personally wanted to see, but think it's better than doing nothing. Only way to do anything different would be to get SPL and SFL around the same table....and self interest isn't going to permit that any time soon. Status quo isn't an option for me as we need a model that distributes cash further down the line. I'm guessing some concession had to be made to allow Celtic (and others who can't see beyond it) the four OF games when The Rangers return to top flight, so 16 or 18 team league would have been off the table in order to get a unanimous decision. Be interesting to see the finer detail in due course, but expect we'll have to go through all the BS that press and others will dig up while we wait for that. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20581620?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
