I don't know what investment might come in the future and we'll have to wait until the AGM to see what the Chairman has to say about what's being done to improve both the operating situation and the future balance sheet situation before we can make any judgement on that.

Great to see Antonio have such a good game. His kicking seemed a bit askew in first half, but he sorted that out in the second. He didn't have much to do in terms of shot stopping, but that was largely down to him being so damn fast off the line to cut out a lot of opportunities presenting themselves to the sevco players in the first place. Was great to meet his parents, a delightful couple who entered into the spirit of things (both on the journey to/from the game and during the match) despite not speaking a word of English.

Great match (from our perspective) and the "total" team performance that we've come to expect from this squad....absolyootley delighted. Not much more I can say on the game that's not already been said. It seems like a long time since it felt this good following ICT and long may it continue. Ibrox has never been a ground I enjoyed going to, but the bile and vitriol seems to have reached a whole new level and the club/authorities are deluding themselves if they think they are making any inroads into dealing with it...I'll leave it at that or it'll just turn into a full page rant...lol.

Think the comp ticket scam may come back to haunt them as I'm pretty sure they have to be declared and normal value attributed for when calculating the split of revenue....in other words, Rangers will still have to stump up half the normal cost to us.
-
Well maybe you should take a look at them - before you start commenting on the manner in which they are being reported. Because if you had bothered to take a look at the Chairman's Annual Report you would have seen that it is the Chairman himself who raises and highlights the issue that if measures had not been taken to boost the squad beyond what was originally budgeted last season, then the financial situation might have been a whole lot worse in that the club could have been relegated. The quotes on BBC online are directly from the Chairman's annual report - and these are also the quotes used on the back page of the PandJ (30.10.12.) which takes exactly the same line. So if you have an objection to the manner in which the Chairman is presenting the club's losses in the public domain, maybe you should raise that directly with him.... once you get back from Damascus, like I have no issue with the Chairmans Report on the accounts (which I have read) as it clearly states that there's an improvement on the balance sheet....a small but vital detail that is totally overlooked in the BBC Article. Whether that was through ignorance or intent I have no idea....but equally irresponsible either way.

I think Chizzer needs a hug

Why is Scott Mathieson not listed in the poll?
-
A couple of league positions below where we were aiming for, poor cup performances, vastly increased medical bills, loan players kept on after January and more added to cover injuries....I was expecting loses to be far worse than they were!!! I've not had the opportunity to look at the accounts yet, but I believe that despite the increased losses, the balance sheet is looking healthier and that's the most important thing. Not sure who did the article for the BBC, but they were either trying to sensationalise the story by reporting it the way they did, or they have a complete lack of understanding when it comes to reading a set of accounts and should not be putting pen to paper on topics which they clearly don't fully understand.

Doesn't sound like a thing Dennis would do !
CaleyD replied to gordieict's topic in General Football
Thought it was a wind-up when it was posted on Twitter earlier as it's totally out of character and Dennis would be the last person I'd imagine attacking anyone....have to wonder at what might have provoked it!!! -

After costs
-
We could stop charging altogether, but you wouldn't have a team to follow for very long. Maybe you missed the reports of this years trading losses? Where the room to reduce prices in that?
-
You can compare the price to as many different things as you like...it doesn't change the fact that clubs cannot afford to reduce prices.
-
Absolutely....and so glad I'm not the only person who thinks this.

Very true, but when the fecker dies of dehydration, you can be sure I'm going to eat him.

My post was not intended to be a pop at HighlandCop or anyone specific. It's just that every time we get a thread like this we get 1001 comments/statements from people saying that the club should be doing this, that and the next thing...and never any "I would like to help the club do......" The club can't do everything and they can't be everywhere and everything to everyone....certainly not with the resources they have. Anything I say from here on will just be the same as I've said a hundred times before, so I'll not waste my time and yours. It's quite simple really, if the fans want it, if the community wants it and if the city wants it...then they have to do their bit to help make it happen.

Go on then, sounds like it'll be a giggle....

ICT have one of the busiest and most successful Community Departments in Scotland and our guys are out doing school visits etc most days (including weekends). A survey was done a little while back that compared community effort by clubs and ICT stood out massively in terms of what they were achieving from the budgets available. Despite that I am sure they would love to be doing more....but that would involve spending more and they just don't have it. You talk about the club doing more to "interconnect with the ordinary people of the town".....how about the "ordinary people of the town" stop expecting everything handed to them on a plate and at least try and meet the club half way on stuff. It does my napper in every time I see one of these threads where it's "WE WANT, WE WANT, WE WANT" or "This is so vitally important"....aye, vitally important until someone asks people to volunteer a bit of time or whatever and then silence and nobody to be seen. I'm not religious, but the sentiments of the saying "The Lord helps those who help themselves" I agree with entirely. Inverness has a more successful football team than it deserves based on what they city gives back.....if people want more/better then they need to play their part in providing the help and resources to make that happen.

Would have taken a point before the game kicked off, but frustrating to have come away with that after losing that goal in the final seconds of the game. I'm pretty happy with the overall team performance and leaving the result aside I think we witnessed...yet again...what sets this team aside from last years. Last season, had someone sclaffed a penalty like that then you would have seen disappointment on the face of the players for the next 10 minutes...occasionally resulting in us losing a second in quick succession This season, stuff like that only seems to fire the players up and push them on....it's as if they see it as not being one guys error, but a team error and everyone becomes extra determined to make right the mistake....musketeer style. This great attitude is what is paying dividends, IMO.

Now then, Now then....I'm not touching that one

Witness statements/evidence have to be corroborated, and from everything that I have read there's little (if anything) to do that other then a group of people (all with something to gain) backing up each others stories. There's no real forensic evidence....in fact the case seems to rely heavily on the lack of forensic evidence and a, IMO, flimsy "we couldn't test for it at the time" argument or "the authorities were in on it too". You also have to wonder why, if so many were in on it, did they choose to go so heavily after one individual? Surely if the evidence is so damning then they could have moved to take the whole lot of them down in equal measure? I get the whole "states evidence" thing, I just don't like it....it leads people to believe that those capable of lies, cheating and scheming can all of a sudden turn into model citizens doing their civic duty and giving reliable information with no thoughts at all being given to them being more concerned about saving their own butt. Maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree on all this....but for me it just doesn't square.

All the highlights are produced centrally for the SPL YouTube Channel - http://www.youtube.com/splofficial For some bizarre and, as yet, unexplained reason (and I have asked many times) they have a clause in the setup that prevents Official Club channels from adding highlights to playlists on their own channels until 7 days after the match. However, that does not prevent us from including the video on the website, our Facebook page or anywhere else on the Internet....in fact, if you have your own YouTube Channel, there's nothing to prevent you from adding it to a playlist and making it available there!!! There you have it...the reason, but unfortunately not the logic behind, why Official Club YouTube channels are the only place on the Internet where you can't see the highlights of a clubs most recent match.
