My understanding of the Hogg situation was that he was signed till Xmas and the club extended it till the end of the season...so he's not currently signed for next season.

We survived for long enough (and were competitive) in the lower leagues....in fact I think we turned a profit more often in the lower leagues than we ever have in the SPL....proof positive that a reduced income is not the end of the world. If every club finds itself in the same position then the whole league needs to adapt to survive and I think we are more capable of doing that than many others. Ok, so standards may drop for a while until the league re-found its level, but such are the demands of business. I'd rather be a poor team competing in an honest, fair and competitive league than a poor team begging for scraps from the table of the OF.

Not a chance that we'd get agreement to play with/against the squad due to risk of injury etc....legends/ex-players might be a possibility though.
-
Have split this off on to a separate topic as I think there's merit in having a separate topic for people to give ideas and suggestions in things they might be interested in...and possibly helping with!!!
-
We (Supporters Trust) actually had the match idea on or list but with so many other things on and a lack of willing hands it was shelved for this season but will be looked at for next season. No reason it has to be an end of season thing, and with so many other things on at the end of a season, it may be that we look to do something during the season itself. Gringo Jnr had also brought up the idea of some kind of "electronic games" day at the stadium and whilst I have no interest in football games (mostly because I suck at them) I know a few of the squad play so some kind of fans v players challenge could be good craic.
-
I hear the Gringo Jnr is still unsigned!!!!

Rules on who would take their place seem to be a little vague, but my understanding is that if Rangers are Liquidated before the end of the season the Dunfermline stay. If it's after the end of the season then Dundee would come up.....expect more legal wrangles either way though.
-
If Rangers are liquidated then they would no longer be the same company/team....why should they be allowed to bypass any of the divisions or even be guaranteed as a shoe-in for re-entry to the SFL/SPL at all? UEFA has something called the "11 Values" - http://www.uefa.com/...lues/index.html Value #1 - Football First In everything that we do, football must always be the first and most important element that we take into consideration. Football is a game before being a product, a sport before being a market, a show before being a business. That pretty much sums it up for me.

Not surprised in the slightest.

C*unty Who?

Just another couple of things that have been niggling me here..... Rangers being "Kicked Out" - This seems to have been the popular line for the treatment of Rangers, regardless on which side of the fence you sit. Think people need to stop using this reference as nobody is talking about kicking them out. What is being talked about is whether or not a New Company should be admitted direct to the SPL without qualifying through the SFL. Moving on from the above point, any newly agreed sanctions would not be applied to Rangers, they would be applied to the New Company as a condition of (direct) entry in to the SPL. In short, there's no retrospective punishment being suggested.

As I understand it, the information was requested, but all they got was late notice from the administrators saying they would not be in attendance and no sign of the information being forthcoming. IMO the Administrators have been negligent on several fronts throughout this whole thing and this is just one more point to add to the list. Would not surprise me in the slightest if we saw Creditors looking to sue them (administrators). As they are changing the rule on who will decide on allowing a NewCo admission from the SPL Board to the SPL Member Clubs then they are required (by law) to give 21 clear days notice of the change before it can be used, hence the length of the delay.

Thanks to everyone who was there last night and made it a wonder evening. The kids were brilliant...not so sure adults would have been so eager given the weather...but it didn't seem to bother the youngsters in the slightest. Credit to the squad who all turned up to take part, even the walking wounded, and made sure that every kid got a chance to meet their favourites. Special mention to the often overlooked Community Dept who organised, set up and ran the kick-around. To be landed with nigh on 100 kids of all ages and have everything run flawlessly is no mean feat. Congratulations to the award winners..... Supporters Trust Player of the Year - Graeme Shinnie Supporters Trust Young Player of the Year - Román Golobart. (can someone list the Supporters Club awards as I can't recall them off top of my head, thanks). Q&A at the end of the night with Terry, Richie and Jonny was as entertaining as the rest of the evening. Trying my hardest to avoid asking the awkward questions, only to have Terry open it to the floor. "Stick with questions from the kids" was my idea, how awkward a question can they throw out there!!! Q1 from the floor "Will Caley get better?"....from the mouth of babes, I really should have known better Still, the question was answered by all three and fair play to them for their honesty and appreciation of how tough a season it has been for everyone. Hope Marmadukes new owners got him home safe and well!!!!

And he's pawned it already!!!

I conclude that you have way too much time on your hands

"Hate" is totally the wrong word....I don't "Hate" anyone, heck I probably wouldn't even class C*unty as a dislike. They are rivals/rival fans who you set out to wind up purely for that reason. It doesn't extend beyond football and there's absolutely no malice in it.

Charles, since I was aware that the person was pretty much anonymous I felt that those who were in the know would be sensible enough not to name them publicly. It would seem that my estimation of those people was correct, as none did name the person on here. My downfall, if indeed you can pin this one on me, was to have underestimated your ability to have spotted the pitfalls of such action and counselled accordingly....but I do admire the fact that you are willing to admit to an inability to think for yourself. Since you trust yourself so little, then perhaps a request to have all your posts moderated by the team here should be considered? We can then ascertain the consequences of your posts on your behalf and you can blame us for everything of yours that appears on this site? Surely as a journalist you should be aware that everything you say/print has consequences (good or bad)? And surely as a school teacher you should be acutely aware that when it involves youngsters then those (possible) consequences are magnified greatly? As for the parallel with the new investors.... You were happy to admit (gloat about) knowing who they were but refused to post names...and still refuse to give the name of the last one (which is fine, I have no issue with that)...claiming that it was perhaps better to drop the issue as the investors seemed motivated to make further contribution. I assume you felt that the naming of these people prematurely, or naming of the last person subsequently, would have perhaps damaged that motivation so you chose to keep schtoom. Why did the same thought process not come in to play when considering the consequences of naming the new occupant of the mascot costume. By your own admission you were happy to receive the information privately...which you obviously did...yet you chose to come back on and name names instead of just saying you had your info and the question no longer needed answered? I know you are done with your contributions to this thread...some people just aren't willing and/or able to admit when they screw up, choosing instead to blame others and continue in the belief that any further comment or questioning by others is somehow pointless or insignificant...que sera.

Surprised that you, especially in your capacity as a teacher, could be so ignorant or blindly dismissive of the consequences of your actions. PS - I think you'll find there's a report button on my posts, just the same as their are on everyone else's. If you have an objection to anything I have said then that is what it is there for.

This event is now fully subscribed. Sorry if you have missed out this time, but keep an eye for other similar events at the start of next season.

We came, we saw, we conquered....on and off the pitch. Best away day I have this season for so many reasons. The fans, the result and the (extended) journey home!!! Just the medicine that was needed at the end of a season that would be better forgotten.

I think the club realise that some families don't have as much to spend....hence the frozen prices and very, very attractively priced family ticket offering for the uncovered main stand. £220 (£200 on early bird) for 1 adults and 2 kids is an absolute bargain and I'd be surprised if any other club is offering anything that comes close to matching that.
-
You really are total prat, Charles. First off, part of the fun in being mascot is the anonymity. Secondly, such anonymity is what gives some people the confidence to be more outgoing...especially when it is a younger person. You come over all Mr Confidentiality when it suits you and then quite happily blurt out on a public forum when there's obviously nothing in it for you to remain schtoom. Pathetic!!!

None of which comes close to the pleasure brought to the entire stand by the oral skills of DewsburyDude
