Youth
Huge well done to the lads who always seem to do us proud at these tournaments. Last time I was speaking to Charlie Christie he was saying that we have some of the best youngsters we've ever had in the youth setup at the moment. Not like the first team squad need any more pressure, but getting back to the SPL and re-establishing better links from youth through to the first team is as vital as anything else we're working towards at the moment. David Nakhed FA deserve an award for one of the funniest team names in the world as well

Queens roll call
As I suspected....no luck whatsoever. Struggling to even get a car to get myself down there at the moment!!!
-
Maurice Malpas
I think he's a bit like Donald Park used to be....just gets on with the job and doesn't allow himself to be distracted with the public side of things. Butcher gave him fair praise after the Raith game and as good as credited Malpas with the decision that won the game.

Morton -V- ICT : matchnight thread
AndyCam (I've decided that's his new nickname) was in attendance last night so all being well we should have some highlights to mull over tomorrow morning.

Morton -V- ICT : matchnight thread
Nothing more that I can add to what's already been said about the game. It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done with a couple of clinical goals. I'm normally of the opinion that if you push your luck with Stewards you can have little complaint when it backfires....however, the stewarding tonight, especially at the start of the second half, was absolutely disgusting. You've all heard the line "start a fight in an empty room", well it was invented for this guy. Offering our fans a "square go", swearing at us and getting right in peoples faces in a really aggressive manner. Fortunately we managed to (eventually) convince one of the supervisors to get him out of there (and it looked like the police gave the same advice) or it could have led to some serious bother.....in fact, it's a credit to our fans that nobody lamped him and violence was avoided. Unfortunately this didn't happen before Mr Angry had managed to get a couple of the younger lads removed. Big T Fan then waded in to smooth things over with the replacement steward...with a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile!!!! I didn't appreciate the power of a lemon sherbet until tonight :(

Odi or Sandshoes?
Odi seems the most likely to put the ball in the back of the net himself, whilst Sanchez doesn't seem to be able to catch a break in that dept but will create loads of chances for other people. Hard to pull a guy from the squad when he's chipped in with goals, so I'd be more inclined to start with Odi and see how the game is panning out, then if need be we can bring on Sanchez with some fresh legs to cause problems for a tired defence.

Munro & Cox out for Pars.
Lionellllllllll  Has to be him, he's still due me a goal from an overhead kick and games are fast running out.

4-5-1
OK, so making changes are perfectly acceptable if you suggest or agree with them and they work, but if the manager...a man infinitely more qualified and better placed to make the decision than you...makes changes as he sees fit then he is wrong and open to your relentless criticism......glad that's been cleared up, thanks.

CaleyThistleOnline.com T-Shirt Store
You'd need to speak to the club about stuff like that. I don't/won't do anything with club badge, player pics, stadium pics or the like on it....aside from the possible copyright issues, it just wouldn't seem right to encroach on such market areas. With regards to the earlier question, if enough demand existed for me to order a short run on a specific design then I would look at getting some t-shirts made up and available locally. Unfortunately getting the odd one done here and there is more hassle than it is worth.

Morton roll call
Since I'll be in the area dropping some others off I might as well nip in and take a look at what's happening.

4-5-1
Remind me again Renegade, what are your views regarding Butcher making changes to things at the end of last season?

Minibus for Morton
Probably better if I give you IHE's number for that!!! Very unlikely I will be running a minibus to QotS as I think C*unty fans already booked up every spare bus/minibus in Inverness.

But What About the Pies?
It's not 'sod's law' it's bad planning. Why do we have to share with away fans? If it's the case that it saves money then why don't we share seating in the Main Stand with the away fans, apart from Ross County and Dundee who take a decent number of travelling fans with them? That would save us having to open the South Stand? Sods Law insofar as me missing the game and not being aware of the issue whilst trying to convince people it was not being used to capacity. I am as baffled as everyone else as to why the Raith Fans were directed to use that servery.

Minibus for Morton
At about 12mpg on the open road (6 or 7 about town), I'm not sure people would fancy coughing up the fuel bill for the Hummer

But What About the Pies?
Caley D: Putting the onus back on us is not acceptable. This is not Rocket Science, if the will was there we could do this. I feel that the will to do this for the fans is simply not strong enough. How quickly did we put up the North and South stands for premiership football? Most understood the desire to wait until we were sure of promotion before expenditure and were understanding of the temporary journeys down the A96. Notwithstanding this, the speed they went up was most impressive. How come the exceptionally busy ladies in the club shop manage to keep a smile on their faces at all times and don't ever swear at fans? If we, in the Highlands, can organise Rock Ness, Balladrum, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Huge Firework displays, and 2 teams fighting for promotion to the SPL surely we can sort out pie queues!! We could all list numerous ways to alleviate the issue. It's the seeming simplicity of the issue that causes me and others I know the frustration. Not sorting it seems a real snub to me as a fan and that hurts more than the lack of a pie! I'm not trying to put the onus back on the fans, I'm just making the point that there's things we can be doing to make life a little easier for ourselves....certainly in terms of the queueing. In my defence I missed Saturdays game due to a bit of a medical emergency and this seems to have been the one instance this season when the Main Stand South servery was choked due to it being shared with the Raith fans...I think that falls into the category of "sods law".

Minibus for Morton
About ?25k for a new one. Meeting point in town will be at the rear of the Sorting Office (Railway Terrace) at 1pm for 1:15pm. For those needing to park car I have ok'd it with the club for you to leave them there and will collect you after I get the folks from town at about 1:15pm for 1:30pm. Pickup in Aviemore for 2:00pm We'll stop at the services in Perth for a quick comfort break and to meet the ones getting on there. Then straight through to Greenock. Provided everyone shows up and we have a full bus the cost will be somewhere in the region of ?12.

Raith Video Highlights
To be honest, I think the SFL have just been a little lazy and copied what the SPL do in terms of permission for highlights etc instead of looking at what fits with their own needs. In the SPL it all has to do with giving clubs enough airtime that it can be useful, but not so much as it detracts from the value to other broadcasters who they charge for the privilege. As they don't have that issue in other leagues, it does come over as totally restrictive. In saying that, 3 to 5 minutes is probably about right for online highlights as file sizes start to get hard to handle beyond that and you end up having to trade off too much in the quality department to make it work....not to mention sending our bandwidth costs through the roof for serving the files

Minibus for Morton
Yeah, that should be good. If you want to PM me a mobile number I can let you know if that changes....miracles do happen and sometimes we actually get away a bit earlier than planned!!!

If your name is not on the list in the opening thread then you don't have a seat and at present the minibus looks full. If your name is on the list and you're not a definite please let me know as people pulling out at the last minutes really hacks me off and I will come and hunt you down.
