Ross County 07/11
This is an idea that I have been investigating on behalf of the Supporters Trust (as a sponsored event). I'll be presenting my report/findings on the feasibility of such an event to the rest of the Trust Board on Monday evening and will report back on the situation here after the meeting.

I look forward to reading your newly improved in-depth analysis.

BANNED FROM BUYING PLAYERS TIL 2011
Seems a bit harsh to hit them with a two window ban, but I have to admit to finding it quite humorous :biggrin01:

Sanchez: Caley Workhorse
I mean everyone.....just as I said.

Sanchez: Caley Workhorse
Don't think it's got anything to do with fitness (match or otherwise) and more to do with adjusting to the style of play....something that even those in the squad last season will have to get to grips with as Div 1 is very different from the SPL.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
He had his Dinner, his Golf Day was suppose to be tomorrow (I think) but was cancelled due to lack of interest and his Testimonial was suppose to be in October (and not heard anything about it).

So we're agreed....this thread is pointless!!!

As they say....."some people just aren't for turning". Been there, done that and bought the t-shirt.

Queen of the South - 5th Dec
Caleymad, at the moment I'm just throwing the idea out there to see what interest exists, so I don't need firm numbers or anything. OCG, see the third answer on the third question (I'll take the family) ;)

Queen of the South - 5th Dec
A number of fans (Inverness based and Exiles) have been kicking around the idea of making the trip to Queen of the South on 5th Dec an overnighter. The idea is that we leave early on the Saturday to travel down to the game, stay overnight on the Saturday and then travel back on the Sunday. I thought it might be good to open up the idea to everyone to see how much interest their is and based on that look at what can be done to try and secure group travel, hospitality and accommodation.

Penalty incident v County
Looked like a stonewaller from the lofty heights of the announcers box.....a clear two handed shove in the back inside the area.

Dale Gillespie, Butchered
As I said elsewhere, I don't blame the manger for the outcome. Once he (the player) was told that he would not feature then it's the Director of Footballs job to sort out the situation with the lad. He had a contract which tied him to the club and he had no option but to terminate that contract "by mutual consent" on the last day of the transfer window or he would have remained tied to a club where he was being offered no real chance to progress. In no other industry would that be deemed acceptable and if anyone was forced to terminate a contract for their own good and because they were being denied fair right to progress within the company then it would almost certainly result in a case of Constructive Dismissal...i.e. being forced out the door...and the person would have a stone wall case for compensation. It's not what's happened, but the way it's happened, that annoys me.

Losing faith in Butcher
The point I was really getting at is that it's not Butchers fault these players have to be let go (unless you're of a mind that we run with a squad of youngsters)...and whilst his actions in the way he is suppose to have spoken too/dismissed conversation with some of these lads isn't right, it shouldn't be his job to have to handle players after they've been told they won't feature, certainly not when we employ a Director of Football. Also, whilst it was inevitable that we would have to let some (most) of them go, there's ways and means of doing that and it would have cost us nothing other than a bit of time to make a few calls and try and get these lads sorted out, and if not that then they deserved to have been given some kind of severance and released instead of being forced to wait till last day of the transfer window and be forced to resign to at least give themselves a chance of getting another club after the window closes. For me, this topic has little to do with "losing faith in Butcher" and is nothing more than a continuation of the worries about the way this club is being run at the highest level.

Losing faith in Butcher
I don't think it's as black and white as all that, and whilst I might not agree with the way some things seem to have been handled, the fact of the matter is that our Youth set up was going to be hugely diminished as a result of relegation no matter who was manager. Keeping lads hanging on as appears to be the case with at least one of them is not how I hoped we would have done things and in cases where people were told they weren't going to feature then I would have expected it to fall within the remit of the Director of Football to sort these things out. We're talking about talented young lads here having to make huge decisions, decisions which could not only see them lost to the club, but lost to the game if they decide to pursue another career. It's little wonder the game in this country is in such a mess and why we are such a failure at national level.

Dale Gillespie, Butchered
In any other profession it would be called Constructive Dismissal.

Dale Gillespie, Butchered
I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss what GEO has to say.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
If Golly is a couple of hundred a week cheaper than Hastings, then freeing him (Hastings) quick might have been seen as a way of freeing up a bit of money to try and secure a striker (which obviously hasn't happened).

Penalty incident v County
It's these kinds of incidents that can cause heads to drop and a team to lose heart, especially when things aren't going for them. However, I don't think that was the problem on Saturday at any point. I don't believe the guys weren't out there trying and I don't think they were trying any less when things started to go bad. I don't know what went wrong, I just don't think that any kind of break or lift was going to change anything. Don't think the penalty would have changed the outcome...in fact, the way things were going for us I wouldn't even put money on us scoring it!!! I think the best thing to do is to draw a line under Saturday, which is why I've not really got into any of the discussion analysing or talking about the match. Not saying we should forget the performance as there's lessons to be learned there somewhere....just don't see any benefit in trying to pull it apart as the problem was/is bigger than any single moment during the 90 minutes.

League cup draw
So really, it's a no-win for you regardless of the outcome!!! As for the doubters, this is the kind of game we used to relish the last time we were in Div 1. We thrived on the challenge and dare anyone ever tell us we weren't capable.....oh how times have changed....and not for the better it seems!!!

Player Of The Year Poll
Don't worry about rogue votes, I can see exactly who is voting for what and just as I remove the votes for those obviously not at games etc, I will cleanse the votes being made by the C*unty fans.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
You'd think Hastings had gone to the OF listening to the way some people are talking. He's gone to Hamilton who were DESPERATE to sign a Left Back.....even if we didn't get a fee, we've certainly managed to get one of the higher earning, non-contributing players off the books. To be honest, I'm more disappointed to see Dale Gillespie leaving the club as I thought he had a lot of potential.

Foran (direct enough?)
The problem with picking a single incident, especially this one, is that it's quite feasible that the pass was the correct option. Had he gone for the shot and missed then we could just as easily be sitting here asking why he didn't play the pass when we had other players better placed. However, in saying that, I do think that our front players need to continue working on "taking their chances". We're better than we were at the start of the season, but we're a long way from being effective in front of goal. We just have to hope that things continue to improve.

ICT 'Fans'
I think there's a certain element of truth in the OP's comments, but I also think that ICT fans in general are taking relegation quite badly/poorly. It's no excuse for some of the tripe being posted and comments being made, but ICT are a club who, until last season, have known little other than success since they came into being so they're not use to things going drastically wrong on the park. As a result they (we) don't know how to handle failure....yes, we've lost games before, and important games, but it's never resulted in a move backwards....until now.
